Serving the San Diego Communities for over five years, we are conveniently located just two blocks east of the Highway 15 Valley Parkway Exit, at the intersection of Tulip and West Valley Pkwy. Visit us for all your battery and light bulb needs. Open seven days a week, we offer a comprehensive selection of batteries, flashlights, other battery-​related products and technical support for both retail and business customers. Here, you’ll find batteries for your ATV, boat, camera, cell phone, golf cart, laptop, motorcycle, RV, scooter, security, UPS system or wheelchair /​mobility scooter. Our on-​site tech center is equipped to design, assemble, rebuild and test custom battery packs. We can also test or install batteries in your watch, key fob and car /​truck. We will help you find, select and install the batteries you need. Plus, come in and talk to our experts about efficient CFL, LED, halogen and fluorescent lighting options. We have commercial programs that provide volume pricing.

History

Established in 2009.

With a BA and Master’s degree in Accounting, Peter Schaumann added up the numbers and made a calculated decision to invest in Batteries Plus Bulbs franchises. Along with his wife, Emily, the Schaumanns now own and operate three stores in Southern California. Having purchased their first location in Vista back in December of 2009, in just over four years, they have acquired two more, in Escondido and Lake Forest, exponentially growing their business and staff in a very short amount of time.

A multi-​tasking, hands-​on owner, Peter Schaumann oversees most of the day-​to-​day operations of his stores, while raising four active children with Emily, and spending time getting involved with his church and the local Chambers of Commerce in Carlsbad, Vista, Oceanside and Escondido.

Admittedly still overwhelmed with all that he has going on, it’s obvious that Peter takes everything in stride, appreciates the complexity of his life, and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Initially referred by his neighbor’s brother, a multi-​unit franchise owner in Virginia, Schaumann found the prospect of becoming a Batteries Plus Bulbs franchisee fairly intriguing from the get-​go. He quickly realized that by having four key sales outlets: retail, commercial, government and online, he could sell just about anything if he was able to develop good business relationships with vendors.
