San Leandro High School

I just drove by this school and was shocked at the amount of garbage there was. I don’t really expect my tax dollars to produce a large number of MIT alums but at least can they learn to use a garbage can and respect the neighborhood because we’re the ones paying the bills. Future Bonds? Don’t think I’ll be voteing for those.

I have worked at this school for 4 years now and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon! Every school has it’s issues but ultimately, it is a reflection of the community itself. With that being said, SLHS is a diverse school that serves a diverse population. I absolutely love the different personalities of all of my students and they are truly getting a quality education (at least in the science department since that’s all I know about directly).
I have worked on the main campus for 2 years and now on the new 9^th grade campus for 2 years. Both campuses are great for different reasons. Main campus is larger and you have more students and therefore it is more social. the 9^th grade is smaller and easier to get around. It also have much better technology.
Let’s not forget the awesome administration!

Well i loved this high school. I would think that this is one of the most diversed schools in california. There is all types of ethnicities, music tastes, trends, styles. I especially love how animé girls dressed in school. I don’t really think there were any loners i think everyone fit with someone. there’s lots of clubs at this school and most of the counselors are realy cool. but i do agree with an earlier post, i don’t understand why that librarian is there if she doesn’t like kids. I liked the security because u had the opportunity to become friends with them. i loved being in the business academy i think it was the best decision i ever made.
i miss high school sometimes. it was fun while it lasted. this was a school that always kept itself busy.

From 1999 – 2002
This high school was known for its pride in sports and all that other good stuff. Now just to let it be known I did play on the football team and I honestly dont know any other bay area school that has had 3 NFL players come from the same school Im not going to disrespect my teammates and say their names but you give me a school with what ive typed that didnt scout in different states and my hat will come off, But like Aaron said… it is now like a Oakland/​Richmond School (Ghetto)

Oh hell no, Aaron.
The perks of this school HAVE to be the extracurriculars! This can mean being involved in the musical, choir, art, clubs, yearbook, sports, or anything else… because going to class in a plain way, without any kind of stimulating force such as extracurriculars, will make you a dull person after high school.
Other than that, this school has been the only high school in San Leandro to date. Its overcrowding problem is like the CSU overcrowding problem, and its high time they make a new high school in this 100k population city.

I think i left this school before it became terribly GHETTO! There are definitely some quality teachers and then there are those that are way below par. Recently the built a whole new wing and gated the perimeter of the campus. Their sports program is great, but i can only say this about cross country and track. I never participated in any other sports. I used to sit in B hall and have my lunch with my crew consisting of people who don’t quite fit in any group. Not that we didn’t get along with everyone but we were just different. We had the best times at lunch. Homecoming was always awesome as well, allowing students to participate in the pep rally before the homecoming game. So many memories from this school.
This is the school i met my best friend, Jamillah. This is where i met some of my closest friends to date. This is where i learned to be comfortable with who i am. This is where i set the school record with 3 others in the 4X800 race. This is where I had my hardest year of school ever. This is where i grew up.
Looking forward to my 10 year reunion for c/​o 2001!
