Chase Bank

This review is for anyone interested in getting a safety box.
Although the price is cheap I advise you to not get one here. Their service is really slow. And if you expect and in and out convenience you will not get that here.
The particular Chase location is very busy, they always seem to be short staffed. In order to get into your lock box, you must follow the following procedure:
Walk in and sign in which usually has a decent amount of names especially on the weekends. You wait, until it is your turn. Staff gets you, walks you to the safe room, you get your box. Once you are done, you have to wait for another staff member to get you back into the safe room. This is the part that usually takes forever.
Overall, on average on the weekends, it will take me 30 – 45 minutes to get into my safe box. This shouldnt be.

All the stars go to the customer service which is usually friendly and accurate– the two qualities you want in a banker (not necessarily in that order). Last time I was there getting dollar bills the nice employee changed some before handing them to me because she did not like the quality of the few in my pile.
One star off for long lines with minimal tellers at most times. Another star off for lack of security in the front. This area frequently has people around asking for money and makes going to the ATM at any hour a stressful ordeal. Be on the lookout when you stop by,

I love going to this branch because there are always friendly people there and there is never a wait. Having a mortgage and a few other Super Serg accounts there always keeps a smile on my face. I have been banking with them for about 10 years since they were once «Washington Mutual «
They have done a bunch of Mortgages for me and the accountant and I actually am pretty satisfied. The checking account is pretty cool too but most of all Baby Sara and Sofia have their accounts there too. It’s important to let them learn how to manage money but at their age they know that soon they will have to do their own deposits instead of Daddy putting $$ in their account.
Overall I am satisfied

Most of the employee’s are GREAT with a few exceptions. Mornings are best, in the afternoons the lines are long. The manager needs works. He walks around when there are long lines instead of helping to get the line down.

Every time I go to this location to buy quarters (for wash, etc), the rolls are short. Not every roll, but about half the rolls. Make sure you stop at the teller and count the quarters before you leave! Today, I bought six rolls of quarters and THREE were short. I lost a total of $ 1.75 on the transaction. I called the bank and they did swap me a new roll in exchange for $ 8.25 in loose quarters and an open roll paper. (All I had was loose quarters since I’d broken them all open to count them).
I’m grateful that they exchanged it, but I’m leaving a 2-​star review for several reasons: I was never able to speak to the manager. I spoke with one of the attendants who see people in the booths. Her name was Geraldine. She was very polite and apologetic, but when I informed her that 50% of my rolls were short and historically, some of the rolls I purchase are always short, her reasoning was that the bank accepts cash deposits in the form of rolls of quarters «in good faith». Meaning, they don’t count the rolls upon receipt of a cash deposit. What she admitted to me is that they also do NOT count the rolls before sending them out to be sold to bank customers! She said, «We should probably count them before we let them go out. But we accept them as-​is as a gesture of good faith.»
That struck me as very un-​businesslike behavior for a financial institution. I can totally see accepting the rolls in good faith from customers and eating the loss, but to pass the loss on to people who are purchasing the rolls is worse than just stupid — it’s stealing. It’s profiting off a loss that they themselves claim to eat «in good faith».
I asked her if I could make two suggestions. I recommended that they count every roll in the bank, and in the future, use the clear plastic rolls instead of the paper ones. She said, «Well, we can’t control how they come in, we accept them that way.» It seems to me if they were breaking apart deposited rolls and counting them, they could easily re-​roll in the clear plastic, but she resisted my suggestion.

I truly recommend finding a local bank or credit union to deal with. They won’t mind holding your money to invest poorly with it but once it’s time for you to go to them for a loan, they won’t give a care about you even if you were their best commercial banking customer they had.

I like to be able to get in and out of the bank in such a short time!

This has been my main Chase bank since after college. I used to come here to cash my checks in since I didn’t have direct deposits at the time. All the tellers were helpful and always suggested if my company did direct deposits so I didn’t have to come in every other week. During the busy hours, the line gets really backed up and can take awhile.

I’m only giving this place one star because I can’t rate it any lower. I have been a 9 year customer of WAMU/​Chase and the only reason I’ve stayed this long is for the fact that they’re convenient due to their numerous locations, but overall are a poor bank. Today they assured me that they are the piece of shit bank everyone claims them to be. After defending them all these years, I encountered the San Leandro Chase office and was treated like a child who had no idea how to conduct business in a banking office, little did they know that I am a banker myself. From a professional stand point I was disgusted with the caliber of employees that Chase has representing them. Here’s what went down — I went in to cash a transit item in the amount of 1K. At the moment of the transaction I did not have the full 1K in my checking account but if they would have followed general bank procedure and taken a closer look at my entire banking relationship they would have discovered that I also had a savings acct which when combined with the checking would have added up to over the 1K they were looking for incase the item was returned. Furthermore, if they would have given me the time of day they would have seen that my direct deposit hits every 2 weeks, my 3 month and 12 month average balances were well above the 1K and the acct. has never been overdrawn or had a returned item plus not to mention again, I’ve had this account for over 9 years. I brought all this to their attention and they immediately transferred me to another window by yelling and I quote, «I can help you at this window because we don’t want you to hold up the line.» Like I was the problem!
This is the moment I realized that these bank reps/​managers are straight garbage. Clearly there is no customer value and they could care less if you do business with their bank. As this new rep. started to assist me she immediately started on the defensive by saying that everything the previous teller said was true and correct and that they could not cash my item. Once again, the bank reps fail to take a look at my entire banking relationship. She then, after I stated that I knew how this works, tried to feed me a bullshit excuse of «oh you have Savings Overdraft Protection so we can cash your item.» How lame and sorry is this excuse to try and smooth over/​cover up their idiotic actions. I got what I wanted so I wasn’t going to argue with the egotistical blonde, but then she took it one step further and offered ridiculous advise on how to get around the next day availability policy by using credit transactions instead of debit, like I could give a f*ck. Instead of these pathetic employees trying to man handle clients into doing what they want, they should take a moment, listen and do what the customer requests. It’s the customers money and the customers account.
Burn in hell Chase, I’m done.

Pretty normal Chase. bigger than most. people r nice, teller chicks always have their hair all done. parking sucks tho. like all the time!!!

Usually i would go to the ATM machine outside to deposit money into my bank account… not surprised, the ATM machine wouldnt accept all my money (this always happened i would just try a few more times then give up but this time i needed to make the complete deposit) so i went into the branch itself grabbed a deposit slip filled out everything but my account number… who remembers their account number anyways especially with the invention of the ATM machine… but the teller starts to tell me that i have to completely fill out the form (even though i swiped my chase debit card and enter my pin), i told her that i wasnt planing on entering the branch but the ATM machine wouldnt accept all my cash deposit. she responded with will it happens a lot when it comes to 100 dollar bills and went on to complain that i didnt write my account number down! i was like this lady really is going to try to complain about writing 10 digits after their machines failed to do their jobs
