Bank of the West

Walked in to ask about opeing a bank account. I’d just sold a house and I wasn’t sure what to do with the money, but I knew I didn’t want to place it in my current bank because I’d be over the FIDC limit. A banker named Anna told me I needed $ 250,000 to open an account with «wealth management». Supposedly I could get all kinds of extra perks for opening an account with her but I was really not interested. I’ve been presented Wealth Services before at my other bank and was very unhappy. I wanted the simple banking I’ve always had — the kind where you walk in and talk to your tellers and maybe see a banker for the more complicated things, like getting a loan or opening an IRA or doing investments. I was turned off by this Anna Leon person, and it didn’t seem like she was going to let me do anything other than her Wealth Management account, so I left. I’d heard such great things about this bank, but I guess they’ve changed.

Best Bank of the West branch in San Leandro! The employees here are awesome! Everytime I walk through the door, I am always greeted with a hello and a smile. Each employee has made me feel welcome no matter what time of day I come. They don’t mind when you have children with you either. The tellers have always carried on a conversation with my child and even offered lollipops. My child has made friends here and is always asking me «When do we get to go to the bank again?»
If I need to go to the bank and I am on the other side of town, I will hold off and wait to come to this location. Superior customer service is what brings me back over and over again.

This branch is a pleasure to visit. A manager named Dennette (I think that is her name) is fantastic! She is always professional and very efficient in providing excellent customer service. Also, they have a very nice, young asian gentleman working there who was ever so helpful recently (thank you!). Ladies, he is cute too. The tellers are super nice, albeit sometimes there is a line and you have to wait.
Ultimately, I have always enjoyed doing business with this branch. I highly recommend this branch of BoW to anyone.

Been having an account at Bank of the West for eight years, and I have no complaints. The tellers and management staff are very friendly and address you by your name. The lines can tend to get long and move slowly, but for the personal feel of the bank I don’t mind. So if you are with one of the big banks that lack that personal feel I would suggest making the switch!
