Best color and cut in town! They always treat you like a million bucks! Great people and great style!

I usually get a cut & color «elsewhere», but after complaining about the color & cut a day or 2 after it was done I decided to try this salon. Christine looked at my hair & decided to add a bit of lighter brown highlights all over then do my color. It just looked so good when she finished (even my husband complimented me) I had to came back a 2^nd time! A good cut/​color is not cheap but that old saying you get what you pay for is really true! I’m a very happy customer!

I have an amazing hair dresser Jason!!! My hair is not easy to work on, its very thick, hard to dry and very time consuming. However there is no doubt that Jason knows his job. Every time I come to see him I look like a hot mess. However when Jason is done doing his magic, I leave the salon looking like a beauty. After Jason gets done working his magic on my hair there isn’t a person who doesn’t tell me, you have amazing hair. So if you’re looking for a creative, hip, young, talented stylist call Daniel Michel salon and book yourself an amazing experience. The salon is a five star place starting from the receptionist who welcomes you with a smiling warm hello, offering to make you comfortable with a nice coffee and Jason’s talent that make you feel amazing!!! You will never regret your experience. Highly recommend!!!

Jarrod is my hero. Period. End of story. I will never go to another person for my hair again. Here’s why: I played with dying my own hair in high school and college (adventurous type) went with red, green, blue, pink, purple, black, blonde and every combination of those that I can think of, cut my own hair, buzzed my head a couple times, grew it back, donated my pony tails to locks of love for years, permed, straightened, and for a brief while had dreads. I don’t work in a stuffy stuck up environment so I continued to play with my hair through my professional life as well, I don’t regret this. So when I bleach burned my hair 4 years ago and had to chop it off and grow it back for the millionth time I decided I’d like to have it long and leave it that way. I got the itch for fun colours this past February and because it was half way down my back I decided I’d have it done in a salon. Colour of choice: magenta. I asked for no bleach (my natural hair is a light golden brown) i understood that vivid colour wouldn’t be attainable without bleach I have no problem with that. Five and a half hours later I’d been fully bleached almost to the point of cotton candy hair (fuzz for days) and I looked like a Smurffy Cheshire Cat reject had thrown up on my head. I tried to accept it as part of the change and told myself I would come to like it. I waited 3 days as instructed before washing to let the dye «set». Almost all of it rinsed out. I was crushed and vowed no more! No more stupid decisions with my hair!!! It’s not fun anymore I want to love it at first sight not question who my reflection is!!!
And then. And then I found Jarrod. He changed my hair. He changed my reflection. He changed my life. I could not be more ecstatic!!! I went from a bad bleach job gone blonde to the most beautiful red hair I’ve ever seen, it has tone it has light it makes my skin look better!!! Maybeline better find a new jingle cuz Jarrod just owned them. «Maybe she was born with it, maybe it she went to Jarrod» All I can say is thank you so much for everything Jarrod!!! (Especially teaching me how to use a blow dryer and rollers!!!) I’ll see you in a few months and I’ll love you forever!!!

Danny has cut my hair for 10 years! I moved away from OC 8 years ago. I moved to the East Coast and would wait until i traveled back to OC to get my hair cut, i now live in NV and still wait to go and see Danny, i have tried different salons where i have lived, but nobody is as good as Dan. thanks guys

Great salon, great location.
I followed Jarrod from his previous salon because having my hair done by him isn’t an appointment so much as an experience. I feel like my time and comfort are important to him; that I am a priority and am getting his best work — every time.
This has been my experience for the past 8 years with him as my hairdresser and I look forward to continuing that experience with the best haircut and color I’ve ever had [each time].

I love this salon! It is fresh, hip and new inside. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable about the latest trends yet are willing to work with you on your ideas. Regina is magic with color especially if you are a blonde. She took the time to do several steps from tint roots to highlights to low lights throughout my hair making it look so natural and fabulous! My husband goes to Trevor for his haircut once a month too. This salon is as good ad it gets! Two snaps!

Saw Vanessa for the first time yesterday. So happy with my hair cut. Have been to many upper end salons stylists did what they wanted never what I asked. Vanessa listened offered advice and we both found what worked best. I will return

Danny has been taking care of me since 2000 when I moved to California. I have thick course strong wavy hair that was disabling me since the day I was born. Finding Danny conquered my challenge and I feel my hair always looks good and fits both casual and dressy occasions. Plus… his haircuts last forever if you get too busy to check in every few months. I was even spotted by Senior Editor Chris Christensen from Orange County magazine and chosen to pose/​review for O.C.Style section December 2008 when she spotted me at a fundraiser and said I stood out at the occasion. Yes… the hair captured her first. I have been stopped many times and asked who does my hair… YES DANNY IT’S YOU!!! Let’s face… hair matters!

My 5 star review is for Trevor. I just got my hair done by him today, partial highlights, and I absolutely love it! He did a REALLY good job! Some might call him a perfectionist, he puts in the extra effort and time to make sure every strand is perfect, which I really appreciate. I already made an appointment to come back next month to get my hair done by him again. 5 stars, I highly recommend Trevor. Not to mention, he is so sweet and the conversation is great!

I have been going to Daniel Michael Salon for years now, and I have had several different hair stylists. All were good except for Christina! She is the best! Personable and great customer service. Did I mention they are in a new facility? Seriously check them out you won’t be sorry.

After writing my original review, Regina (one of the owners) immediately contacted me and addressed the situation. Now that is what I call excellent customer service! I appreciate how hands on the owners are. So if you’re looking for the best in the business for your hair needs, make an appointment with Jacqui!

Amazing place and atmosphere. Exceptionally professional and inviting. Regina is a master of her craft. Super sweet staff who made me feel welcome and pampered.

I’ve been going to this salon for years! Over the years I’ve had plenty of different stylists but they are all friendly, professional, and great at what they do. It’s a little on the pricey side, but I enjoy coming to this salon because I know I’m getting my monies worth. They’re highly trained and always have great advice.

Krystal King has been my hairstylist since 2004. She has an excellent eye for color and style, she is honest, friendly but not overly talkative, and always willing to accommodate my busy schedule. Her prices are also very reasonable compared to other salons. She always offers me a beverage as well which not every hairstylist does. The Daniel Michael Salon is extremely clean and everyone is always so professional and kind.

This is the best salon in Orange County and definitely in South Orange County.
Danny Berumen is not just a hairstylist, he’s a genius. He will transform your hair. I’ve known him for nearly 20 years and he’s just simply the best.
The salon itself has a wonderful atmosphere but most importantly your hair will look and stay looking amazing.

For almost 27 years hair has been growing from the top of my head. I water it at least once a day, feed it regularly and make sure it stays warm. For most of my young life I let my mother make all of the important decisions about my hair style but then, around 10-​years-​old, I was inspired by a man with three names and a wave: Mark Paul Gosselaar. From that point forward all important hair decisions were made by me, damnit!
But then there was trouble. By junior high the wave wasn’t as cool as I wanted it to be and girls were starting to notice. It was time to update my image (in 1997) so I spent years flitting from one Fantastic Sam’s to the next getting a number 4 on top and a number 3 on the sides, baby. Spikes!
Things stayed pretty predictable through high school. Sure, the music changed and kids were telling other kids that they were straight edge, but the basic format stayed the same: short on the sides, longer on top, and now styled with Murray’s Hair Wax instead of that big tub of fruity hair gel they sell in the seedier parts of Mission Viejo.
Murray’s Hair Wax was kinda gross, though (my freakin’ pillow was a disaster), and everyone had the same hair style and as I got older I realized it was time to consult an expert. It was time for divine intervention. IT WAS TIME TO DO SOMETHING RADICAL. So I ate magic mushrooms.
Ha, just kidding, what really happened was I met this dude Jason Giras. His oldest brother Mitch Wilson was a guru with Toni & Guy (this was around 2004) and Jason had been hearing the call to take up the craft. Jason had some advice for me and, being young and impressionable, I let him show me what quality training and natural artistic talent could produce. Seven years later I get compliments on my hair

Jason Giras isn’t just a hair stylist. He is an educator, an innovator, a straight-​up synthesizer of style and image. I have been blessed to have made his acquaintance and choose, time and again, to sit in his chair, communicate my hair style requirements and let him do the work.
My style has evolved over the years. I have a challenging head of hair; it’s full, it’s kinda wavy in some parts, nearly curly in others, and none of this is helped by the two cowlicks on my head.
Yet, somehow, as I’ve grown up and defined myself and my sense of style, he has worked with what I want, introduced me to ideas about hair that I hadn’t considered and soon discovered were exactly right for me. That’s how he became my go-​to-​guy.
I visit him about once every two or three weeks. I used to get a haircut once every five or six weeks but over all this time I realized that there really was an advantage to keeping myself well-​groomed. I hold an important position in a high guest contact profession and it is imperative that my suit is clean, my style is professional, smart, bright and, above all else, I’ve found that a clever and appropriate hairstyle is what really sets me apart from the pack. It’s like an ace up my sleeve. When I go to work with my hair looking this good people notice. They’re envious. They’re mystified. How did he get so lucky? Most importantly they trust my recommendations because my hair communicates credibility.
Enough of the bromance, though. I’m writing this review to clear up a few things. First of all
is a dangerous place. People with a vendetta can make real trouble here and I’m seeing a lot of 1 and 2 star ratings for this salon and I think it’s bogus.
Adam, Shay, Jason, Nicole, Dani, Krystal and all the other people I’ve met here have a few things in common. They are sharp, they are fun, they are professional and casual at once, they do what they do well and, in-​fact, do it so well that they’re present and available during a hair session to carry conversation, make jokes, laugh, offer observations and insight– all while mentoring each other and the students who seek them out for professional training. It’s that crazy fusion of confidence and technique that frees them up to be interpersonal.
This is not a half-​way house. This is not Fantastic Sam’s!
Daniel Michael Salon is the sort of place you go when you’re ready to get your money’s worth. It’s where discerning people get a one-​of-​a-​kind style for the one-​of-​a-​kind person they are. No two haircuts are alike. I’m just a guy but I’ve seen first-​hand the sort of work you girls get in this salon and I’m 100% positive it’s not something you take lightly.
So listen to a guy who knows what he’s talking about and don’t let these 2 star haters mislead you: DMS is the right place for someone who wants a top tier experience in a classy environment that pushes itself to achieve and, most importantly, listens to what it’s clients want (retro, nouveau, contemporary) and never hesitates to accept a challenge and exceed their expectations.

The owner of this location is trying to compensate for his lack of service and behavior by posting this comment. My review is only further supported by his attempt at justifying his rude comments by stating my «unrealistic» interests.
I showed him past pictures of myself for the exact same style and color I wanted, told him exactly how to achieve this and explained how I have done this several times in the past. He responded by telling me «good luck» and that he would tailor my hair style/​color to whatever he felt like doing. His employee (very friendly and helpful) emailed me to apologize for his boss’ behavior. Oh… And I wouldn’t call the Cheesecake Factory a bar… Another example of his cocky attitude.
