Yogurt Palace

They changed the name for this place. They’ve added boba drinks. yummy!

Always drive by this place and never had occasion to go in, well not until the other night. It was a little warm and we were craving something sweet so we decided, sense we were driving by, to stop and give them a try. I have to give them props they were friendly and polite and the yogurt was tasty. It’s frozen yogurt so you can’t really mess it up (well I suppose you could, but they didn’t) they have a medium sized selection and they even offer toppings and ice-​cream (not as a topping but if you didn’t want the yogurt). The costs were what you would expect so that was good and the place was clean. As I said before the woman behind the counter was very friendly and even offered samples (big plus).
They keep the place well lit and clean and during the time we were there a few ‘regulars’ came in which I was pleased to see. They have a few tables to sit, always good, but they could have more room for sitting if they didn’t have all the other stuff they sell. If anything that is my one complaint. They are a yogurt place stick to sweet tasty treats and don’t try and sell all that other stuff.
We will definitely be back.

A struggling Mom & Pop shop, with a decent selection of yogurt & smoothies. I have driven past this place hundreds of times but never had an inkling to stop. My hubby tried this place & thought he should do his part to support our neighborhood small business.
We have managed to visit a couple times in the past 2 months & it just doesn’t have the WOW factor.
Also, in the summer time you walk in expecting it to be cooled with AC, but nope. It doesn’t make any sense to eat & ice cream/​yogurt in a warm store.

This place has been Improved given the fact that they are under new management and ownership. Prices are very competitive and I prefer the icecream over the yogurt.

This place has actually improved alot over the past few years, but maybe their interior design could use renovation.
The ice cream is alooot better than the frozen yogurt in my opinion, and there’s over 12 flavors to choose from.
Pricing was lowered too. We got a cup and it was filled all the way to the brim with ice cream and we even got free toppings. For a large cup, I paid $ 5.75 and it was enough to feed over 5 people.

It was my first time at this place. We came out of convenience. It was hot on Saturday. No AC in the store. I ordered two scoops of pineapple coconut ice cream. My friend ordered a scoop of pineapple coconut and a second scoope of strawberry flavored ice cream. The ice cream is good but man… eating ice cream and sweating in a hot store is not reccommended at all.
They also sell other things in this place like teddy bears, balloons, flowers and ribbons.
I wouldn’t drive out of my way to have desserts here. They gave me a stamping card but I won’t be placing stamps on it.

Yogurt Palace is in a run down shopping center. in fact, all of alum rock sector of san jose looks rundown. y.p. looks more like a toy store (dolls, balloons,) than a froyo shop.

Went to Yogurt Palace today because Pinkberry was a ZOO. I’ve eaten at Yogurt Palace since I was a kid (20 years or so!). Today my boyfriend and I totally got ripped off. The dude charged us $ 11.44 for two small size froyos and three (total) toppings. WTF!!!
The chocolate and strawberry flavors were decent. The tart was sour and icy. Blech. I will not be going back here because they guy OBVIOUSLY overcharged us! Asshole!

I remember back when I use to live in alum rock when I was 4. I realized that the place is filled with gifts, balloons and flowers. I looked at the price for ice cream sizes. $ 3 for a small size is expensive, but i really wanted ice cream. most of the reviews here states the owners aren’t very attentive of the customers, but when I was there they gave their attention to me when I looked at them. They are very nice I do must say. Ice cream flavors included (from what I can recall): cheesecake, oreo cookie, mango, french vanilla, chocolate, mint in chip, strawberry and I forgot. my oreo cookie was alright nothing too special and te mango tasted funky. the place brings back so much childhood memories, but the quality isn’t all that great to me.

Had high hopes for a foodie adventure when we spotted Yogurt Palace on our way to Phở 54. However, by the time we arrived around 8:45pm, all the yogurt machines were being cleaned out. Since the night demanded an adventure, we agreed to settle for the ice cream. Unfortunately for us, this was another adventure FAIL.
Despite what other people have experienced, we were treated very nicely by the owners of Yogurt Palace. Although they weren’t the most attentive people I’ve come across, we got our orders fairly quickly and with a smile. The ice cream itself was ok tasting, but it’s a little expensive for what you get ($ 2.99 for a scoop). If you’re craving froyo/​ice cream, I’d try somewhere else before coming here.

This place was terrable.
I remember when I was younger I would go all the time, and the people were very nice… they have a ton of gifts and such, so you can’t really see inside.
Well, I went a few weeks ago, and the pricing was pretty steep for a small place, they don’t accept plastic so don’t even try. Parking is tight, and they don’t pay very much attention.

Out of all the years that I’ve been living in east side San Jose, I stopped into the Yogurt Palace for the first time last night. I’ve been craving frozen yogurt after reading a few reviews on various places, so I thought I’d see what all the hype’s about. Well, I decided to go on the most rainiest of days, which to me was perfect because I figured no one would be getting frozen yogurt on a dark and rainy night. I was right! When I entered Yogurt Palace, there were only two employees, who looked like the owners of this establishment. The older gentleman was very kind. He let me get half and half, tart and dulce de leche. I got a large size, which to me was a bit pricey at $ 5.99. But it was huge! When it came time to pay, i handed him my card but he said that he couldn’t take it. Then I told him that I saw that they have the Visa sticker logo on the door, which to me is an indication that they take credit cards/​debit cards. Then he tells me that I have to spend atleast $ 10 in order to use my card. I didn’t have cash on me and I really didnt want to leave the store after he just made my cup, so I ended up buying another large size of the strawberry. I got both cups without any toppings. Since it was raining, I asked him if he could put a lid on top. But the peaks of the cups were so high, that I couldn’t swish the froyo all the way down without it coming out the sides. So, I ended up just putting the lid on top of the peaks and walking quickly to my car trying not to get any raindrops on my froyo. Luckily, I was parked right in front of the door.
Well, as far as taste goes, this is the first time I’ve eaten froyo, so I don’t have anything to compare it with, but the dulce de leche does taste like caramel. It’s really think and creamy. The tart is TART! I’m glad that I mixed this with the caramel, because I don’t think I could eat it by itself. I’m actually eating it right now as I type this. The large is LARGE, so that’s why I still have it around. I did eat a small bowl last night and I’m eating another small bowl right now. It looks like I’ll have this container for another couple of days at the rate I’m going. And I still have the untouched strawberry container in the freezer. I haven’t had a chance to taste that one yet.
Overall, this place is okay. Not sure why it’s called Yogurt Palace, when the store is filled with stuffed animals from floor to ceiling. They only had six flavors of yogurt. They also have quite a bit of ice cream flavors in stock and even cheesecake. But if I’m ever craving froyo really bad, atleast I know that there’s a place that sells this yummy treat down the street. =)

What are they serving frozen yogurt or glue in a cup!
I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt (this was before I discovered my favorite Poco Café!) so I said why not…
When I walked in I didn’t know whether I was in the wrong room or I suddenly stepped into a bad hello kitty dream. There was little that indicated this place was a frozen yogurt shop. The yogurt was disappointingly ordinary… and the consistency… well forget consistency I was literally biting into chunks of stuff… not my idea of my first so called exhilirating froyo experience. I will NOT come back here… I’d rather go to a jack in the box drive through and order some shake.

They never have cookie and cream and every time I go in there because I think maybe just maybe they’ll have it I end up getting vanilla with stale toppings. They told me they would call me when they had it available. I’ve never heard form them. It makes me feel semi-​rejected like a guy saying he’ll call but he never does… disappointing. However, the froyo is decent when they have the flavor I want …

we were at a light on alum rock when we noticed the yogurt palace at the corner. the bright red and pink valentine displays also caught our attention so we decided to turn in for a quick yogurt fix.
upon entry we noticed the whistling door alert sound to let associates know when customers are coming in and out. immediately that made me giggle. that particular sound they chose instead of the typical bell chime fit right into the décor of the place. it was like commercial holiday heaven mixed in with frozen treats! they have everything you could imagine related to nonsense. from the tacky white stuffed bears to balloons of every shape and size. it’s like cupid threw up or something.
the sales associates are kind of funny. we were the only customers in the store at the time and the two vietnamese ladies seems kind of shocked we even stopped by. we were greeted with an «uhh… hello?» and then they went along hanging window decalls.
this place offers a variety of items, however each item only comes in a few flavors. such as– smoothies, shaven ice, hot and cold boba drinks, sandwiches, ice cream, and frozen yogurt. we had an order of the plain froyo in a child’s cup and a strawberry foryo in a waffle cone. the portions were pretty big, however it was a bit pricier compared to other places. we both ordered without toppings, which i’m sure if we did would’ve been an extra charge. total came to about $ 9 after tax. our yogurt actually ended up tasting alot better than what i expected coming into the shop, but i wasn’t impressed.
i definately got a kick out of this place. it’s closer to my place than most other yogurt shops in the bay, so i’ll probably come back here only if i’m desperately craving and am pressed for time.

Yogurt palace is an Alum Rock landmark. As you wait for the light on Capitol and Alum Rock to turn green you can’t help but notice the huge Dora the Explorer dolls in the window along with thousands of other stuffed toys. When I was in there one day buying frozen yogurt I saw a guy get rung up for about $ 120 and left with a couple balloons and a stuffed bear. Seemed a little steep to me. The yogurt selection is limited usually only 4 selections on the board. Their prices are also quite high, you’re looking at a little under $ 5 for a small. We prefer Willow Glen frozen yogurt but it is a bit far to go for us so we frequent this place to get our fix. The staff is friendly and usually always sparks conversation when you stop in. I don’t know why frozen yogurt places usually don’t last on this side of town. I have seen a few come and go in the Evergreen Area. This one has stood the test of time so they are doing something right.
