For the price I don’t see how anyone could complain. You know exactly what you’re getting into once you see the neighborhood and the very low prices. People are just being haters. This is a very humble mom-and-pop burger joint(or more accurately grandma and grandpa). Plenty of parking in their own lot. The portions are good and the fries are super fresh. I liked that the buns are toasted. The cup for soft drinks is on the smaller side and refills are extra. I’m glad burger joints like this are still around and I’d rather eat here than a fast food chain. For $ 5 and a fresh of the grill meal this place is a good deal. If I want a gourmet burger I’ll go to the Counter but for something fast this place is fine. On a Sat night most of the orders were pick-up so we had place to ourselves.

My husband and I love their philly cheese burger and turkey burger with fries and milkshake. The price is reasonable, and the owners(old couples) are always super nice.

I love Whiz Burger I come here with my dad usually and always order the teriyaki plate, never a disappointment. And mind you this place is run by a really nice old asian couple. The husband works the front as the wife cooks in the back they work hard and provide excellent food and service. A+++

Sort Version: Typical burger joint in the hood run by an older Asian couple(except this area isn’t really«hood»). Been here twice, got a cheeseburger, small fries, and a cup of chili each time, and it’s all been good both times. If I wasn’t in the neighborhood, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here though Extended Version: Cheeseburger(1⁄3 lbs) — $ 4.25(3 stars — barely) — They’ve gotta either start using bigger patties, or smaller buns b/c right now, the bread to beef ratio is off… the bread they use now is dry anyway, and sometimes falls apart on you. Wait, now that I think about it, the burger patty was pretty dry both times too Small Fries — $ 1.99(3 ½ stars) — I like the fries here a lot… but how come I got a lot less fries my last time here than I did my first time? Cup of Chili — $ 3.77(3 stars — barely) — No cheese, no onions, just a good sized serving of chili w/beans. No idea how they came up w/that price, but never cared enough to ask Misc: — This is a mom n pops joint run by an older Asian couple(I don’t think anyone else works here) — he runs the front, and she runs the kitchen — Service is friendly, but pretty slow — Dining area could use some attention throughout the day… they’ve gotta at least check to see if the tables need to be wiped down

The older couple are extremely nice and the food is always good. People should come here and enjoy how a burger is suppose to taste rather than spending more money at a mcdonalds or Wendy’s. It’s down the street from our house and convenient. I feel it should have more customers for the quality service and food they have :)

Delicious greasy burgers. It’s fun to come here and forget what modern medicine has taught us about a proper diet and enjoy some the dopamine rush that a fat burger and a greasy bag of fries will deliver you. Protip: Swallow your pride and get the junior burger. It’s big enough to fill you up unless you’re a great big fatty.

Having a lunch at Whiz Burger left me underwhelmed, in something of a catatonic, unresponsive state. «Whiz Burger is an establishment where you can attain a hamburger of some stripe. It can be consumed either on-site or elsewhere. It will adhere to basic hamburger specifications.» That’s more or less how my sentiments ended up running. It’s not a BAD burger joint, not by any means. There are three or four booths which can seat groups of four or so, and a couple of booths intended more for couples, and a couple of tables for free-floating groups of any size to stake claim to. The menu is focused, but robust, sticking to hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, and shakes, but dealing with a small selection of variations on those themes. No qualms there. But the speed of service… oof. It was pretty glacial. I mean, I wasn’t ordering anything esoteric, or requiring elaborate workarounds, or otherwise quietly requesting that the line cooks perform medium-large miracles. «I’ll have the bacon cheeseburger, for here» was as exotic as my order got. That’s a vanilla order of the item that is front-and-center atop their menu. It took the best part of 20 minutes to fulfill that order… and when I received it, the slice of cheese on my burger hadn’t so much as melted yet. It was a touch disappointing, to say the least. I feel bad ragging on this place. I know it’s a mom-and-pop shop. I’m pretty sure the«pop» of that mom-and-pop was the guy who fielded my order. That said: if I wanted to wait that long for a burger, I could’ve gone to a sit-down restaurant and had an elaborate cooked-to-order creation in the time allotted. Or if I wanted a «simple, honest-to-gosh, no fuss» burger instead, there are myriad other places where I could have nabbed a no-nonsense burger in five minutes and spent the remainder of the hour nibbling on it in a placid park somewhere. I have no doubt that if you grew up with this place, it is simply DRIPPING with nostalgia. It hits all the buttons of a quaint, rustic, minimalist sort of establishment. And if you have time to burn and want to enjoy a simple bite at a laconic pace, hey, more power to you. For someone like me, though, where those factors don’t especially come into play? It’s something of a mild disappointment.

This is a classic burger joint. It is run by an old Korean couple. The husband runs the front end of the store. It is extremely small, but cozy. Order ahead if you’re in a hurry. If there’s more than one person patronizing the store the kitchen gets backed up pretty quickly. It’s a nice and quiet neighborhood though. I usually bring a book or magazine and leisurely wait. This is a classic burger. There are no tricks, no special sauce or secret meat blend. It is meat cooked to perfection between a generic bun and fresh vegetables. The fries are cut almost steak sized and cooked to order. They don’t skimp on the soda syrup and everything comes together beautifully. You can also order rice instead of fries. It’s a cheap, no frills burger and that’s why it’s so good. The ingredients are treated with respect and cooked to perfection.

Wanted to try a new burger joint and passed by this place. Little family owned joint with mediocre food. Nothing stood out really. Decently priced but the food isn’t anything epic.

Yummmm classic burger at a great price! Its owned and run by a cute old asian couple, ultimate Mom & Pop joint! The name«whiz burger» has to make you chuckle, I dont think they knew the double meaning it could have! Now isnt that just so endearing?! I got the Special Burger with fries and a soda for 4.75! There were 3 of us, and all the burgers are made to order fresh! Theres only one little old lady in the kitchen doing all the work so be patient! Overall the burger was tasty and the fries were crispy! The owners are just so cute that you can’t help but want to support Mom & Pop!

Burger, fries & coke combo for $ 5 is a good deal. Decent burger, mine wasn’t nearly as tasty looking as some of these pictures. Similar to Mojo burger = not bad, but nowhere near gourmet. Older Korean couple runs this place. If you’re more like Sally rather than Harry, and have particular way of ordering food, don’t expect a perfect translation of your special order. The bad part, which will prevent me from eating here again, is they take the fast out of – wait for it, wait for it – fastfood. C’mon, 20 minutes for a burger and fries? Cooked to order is great, but I coulda run to El Sol for groceries, fired up the grill and had a gourmet burger in about the same amount of time. Three(3) stars instead of two cause Mom & Pop stores need support.

It’s in my hood. I drove past this place countless times. I’ve wanted to give it a try last year. I just keep on forgetting. So we walked over last Sunday but they’re closed :(Part deux today! I ordered #1 Special Burger with fries and soda combo. $ 4.75. I was told by the lone male staff behind the counter that it’s 100% beef. Cool! Partner ordered #21⁄3 Burger combo without mayo. $ 5.55. They got his order right. Right there we’re impressed! The burgers were tasty and juicy albeit somewhat thin. The fries were crunchy and not oily. Nice! They also offer soft serve ice cream in mango flavor that I will try next time. Street parking. Clean mom and pop place. Close to me and they give good service. Awesome!

Weird. Unilocal just said I should review this place. So I will. Whiz burger is bland. I could make a low brow joke about the obvious pee reference in the name but you already did that for me. Thank you. /review

This place could probably seat about 20 people and it was pretty small. There was a small tv in the corner and if you want to think of it in a good way, this place was cozy. Their menu had pictures of the combos which was helpful in deciding which to order. I ordered combo #1 which was a special burger, fries, and a drink for $ 5.35 total. My brother ordered combo #2 which was the 1/3lb burger, fries, and a drink for $ 6.12 total. If you want to replace your drink with shake, it’s an additional $ 1.75. I’ve never waited so long for a burger. I waited about 20 minutes until my order was ready. I forgot to mention that there was only two people working here. The cook(an old lady) and the cashier(an old man) and nobody else. Service was pretty slow and I saw other people were impatient. One guy even had his order messed up so that’s more waiting. Anyways, the burger was okay and I suppose it was okay considering the price paid. The fries were okay, too. Both burgers looked the same except the patty for the 1/3lb was bigger. That’s about it.

Man, i gotta take a whiz… When i hear the word whiz, i think piss, so yeah, this place’s name is terrible IMO. Name aside, i was really happy with my #1 combo today, which was a cheese burger, fries and a soda for $ 5 and change. It really wasn’t anything special – just a burger and fries – but it was dang tasty. It reminded me of a Dairy Bell or Foster’s Freeze burger, only not a greasy. This is a small place with only a couple of tables, and like many other Unilocalers have said, the service here isn’t really fast because there are only 2 people working here, the cook and the cashier… and they actually cook your burger when you order it unlike a fast food joint. Fortunately I was the only one in here when i ordered today so i didn’t have to wait too long. I would never think to order teriyaki chicken from a burger place, but based on some of the other reviews, i think i will have to go back and give it a try.

I drive by this place every day coming home from work and I’ve always been tempted to drop by since alot of places that are«holes in the wall» are the shit. So one day I said f*** it and dropped by. It’s very small on the inside and it looks very… Pink. I ordered the special burger because I didn’t feel like reading the rest of the menu because I was so damn hungry. The wait was really Long for a burger joint so I recommend calling in and ordering before hand so you don’t have to wait so long. They do have a tv though so you can have something to watch while waiting or eating. The burger did not dissapoint at all, it was flavorful and tasted how a burger should taste. The portion of fries were also large so it complimented my hunger nicely(: I’m so glad I live walking distance to this place, if they opened later it would be the perfect drunk meal

3.5 stars Definitely a nice change from other fast food joints like Burger King or Carl’s Junior down the street. Besides… I like supporting mom and pop shops or family-operated shops. CALLINYOURORDER!!! Especially if you have only 30 mins for lunch, like me. My coworker and I made the mistake of not phoning in our order, and it took us atleast 20 – 25 minutes to get our food. Luckily, we work a few blocks down so we made it just in time. I had the ¼ burger meal. Added cheese .35 cents, and you can sub the regular fries for seasoned fries for $ 1 more. I liked the burger… it was nice and juicy. My coworker got the philly cheese steak meal… and she said the sandwich was good. Next time I come here, it’ll be for the Teriyaki Chicken plate… we saw pics of it while waiting for our food and it looked pretty tempting. The cashier(i think he’s also the owner) was very sweet and was always constantly bowing(the Asian bow) to his customers. I’ll be back to try the teriyaki chicken but will phone in my order next time. EDIT: I uploaded their menu for you guys. *Prices subject to change* ============ UPDATE on 04÷09÷08 Called in my order this time around. =) The teriyaki chicken wasn’t too bad… I wish the rice was a little softer though. =/That sorta killed it for me. The sauce was nice, not overly sweet and I think it had a tiny hint of spice to it. The salad was basically just warm iceberg lettuce w/one tomato slice and had too much ranch dressing for the amount of lettuce. Even after mixing everything together, it was still drowning in it. The plate also came with sliced banana peppers/pepperocinis; kinda random, I’m not sure what it was for. Next time, I will try out their Philly cheese steak but I will ask them to grill the meat with the cheese. [Saw someone eating one and the cheese was not melted.] Update more later! OOO and the prices went up a bit…
