Melissa was amazing to work with! She has such a great personality and knows what she’s doing. I first contacted Melissa through her website and she got back to me soon after, letting me know that she was available on our wedding date (July 25, 2015). We scheduled a trial date and after having the makeup trial, I immediately knew I wanted her to be our makeup artist. She’s professional, friendly, and really gets to know what kind of look you’re going for. She had an assistant with her on the day of the wedding and both of them worked on my 4 bridesmaids, mother-​in-​law and me. She ensured they had more than enough time to work on all of us, and I love how everyone turned out. I would definitely recommend Melissa!

I had a bridal trial with Melissa after having a spray tan done a few weeks earlier. I decided against getting a wedding spray tan since it was orange and sloppily applied.
My hair + makeup trial was nothing short of disastrous. Well, my hair looked okay if you were Amish. My makeup– oh my god! Has this girl ever applied foundation before? I’ve never seen my makeup look so caked on in my life! I’m 25 and look 40.
After being pressured to sign her not-​legal contract, and paying in full, I scrambled to find another service provider so I could cancel on Melissa. She is just as egotistical as her company name is.
Wouldn’t hire her, even if it was free. Don’t let a lack of skills ruin your big day!

We had 5 bridesmaids, two mothers and myself who needed a bohemian style for my backyard wedding. The wedding was in Salinas which gets quite windy between 3 & 6pm and needed experts to know how to keep a curl in all 8 gals’ hair! Melissa and her assistant Kelsey did exactly this! I had a trial with Melissa 2 months before our wedding and she was on time, patient and did 2 entirely different looks. She checked in right before the wedding and made the process seamless! Wedding day came and I couldn’t have been happier. I usually heavily dislike my hair when other people do it. I hated all of my prom looks and any updo’s for previous weddings I have been in. Melissa and Kelsey made me look exactly like the bride I wanted to be. My bridesmaids all brought in looks for their hair and they transformed every gal into the picture they wanted. From the braids to the waves… all of our looks were perfect and made beautiful photos. My mother and my mother-​in-​law are the type that never had their hair done before. They usually throw curlers in every morning for work and call it a day. I asked Melissa to do «mom hair» and a simple half up/​half down look. My mother looked 10 years younger. They softly curled her hair and she looked so beautiful. My mother-​in-​law has very thin, short hair and they gave it a little lift and made her look very pretty. The product they used smelled amazing and wasn’t suffocating in the room. It held all of our hair through the windy ceremony and the dancing! I highly recommend Blushing Bombshell for your event as they are sweet, prompt, responsible, professional and know how to meet your standards!

Months in to my frustrating search for the perfect hair and makeup artist for my wedding, my mom heard about Melissa of Blushing Bombshell and suggested that I check out her work. Turns out mother knows best!
I can’t say enough about the wonderful experience I had with Melissa and her team. Not only is she one of the sweetest people that I have ever met but she is also incredibly talented.
First, Melissa came to my parents’ house for the hair and make-​up trial and spent roughly three hours working with my mom and I until we felt like we had the perfect hair and make-​up styles for the big day. I loved that Melissa simply made me feel like a more beautiful version of myself. She didn’t cake on a layer of make-​up like so many make-​up artists do.
In the months leading up to the wedding, Melissa kept in close contact with me to make sure I still liked the hair and make-​up style that I had loved at the trial and was very quick to answer all e-​mails that I sent her way. Nothing better than a quick-​responding vendor during the craziness of wedding planning!
When our wedding day arrived, Melissa and her team showed up early, finished my bridesmaids (x7), the mother-​of-​the-​bride, the mother-​of-​the-​groom, the flower girl and my hair and make-​up in under 5 hours! They even stuck around for touch-​ups, if needed, after the ceremony! My bridal party still gushes about how beautiful they all felt that day!
Also, did I mention how reasonably priced she is?!
I have already recommended her to a friend who ended up using the Blushing Bombshell for her engagement photos and wedding day hair and make-​up and I will definitely be recommending her to anyone else looking for an exceptional hair and make-​up experience.

Melissa just did the hair and make-​up for my wedding this past weekend and I couldn’t have been happier.
I had a great trial with Melissa about six weeks before my wedding at her home, and based on some Pinterest images and my description of the venue and my dress, she got it exactly right on her first try. I felt totally comfortable with her and didn’t have any hesitation about booking her to do my hair and make-​up (as well as my mother, mother-​in-​law, sister, sister-​in-​law and best friend) for the wedding itself.
Melissa brought a colleague, Catherine, to make sure that we could get through everyone in time. They were on-​time and even got everything set-​up in our hotel room while we were still having breakfast!
Melissa was great about keeping us on schedule without feeling rushed, talking with each woman about the look she wanted, and keeping things looking really easy and natural, especially for the women who didn’t want a lot of hair styling or make-​up.
The products that Melissa uses are great, and I could tell she knew about each product, brush, and piece of equipment and stood behind everything she was using. The price was right, and she was really responsive as we went back and forth on exactly which services everyone would want. She understood my budget (I was paying for everyone’s hair and make-​up myself) and worked with me to make sure we could do everything for the best price.
Finally, she was a real pleasure to work with. I can tell that she loves her work, and that makes all the difference — especially on a big day!
