Dr Rottjakob specializes in Family and Cosmetic dentistry. We welcome new patients with a complimentary consultation and upon your first dental hygiene appointment you will receive custom bleaching trays to help you achieve that bright smile! Our office offers oral sedation dentistry for those patients with anxieties about a dental visit.

Our services also include complete implant restorations, lazer teeth whitening, custom veneers and oral cancer screening. To assist you with your dental treatment we offer interest free financing upon request

We are located in The Via Valiente Shopping Plaza on the corner of Via Valiente and Almaden Expressway. Just look for the big «SMILE» sign!

History

Established in 1986.

Dr Rottjakob has been servicing the dental needs of his patients for 28 years. He is the sole dentist and has two full time hygienists. Our practice is built upon patient referrals which is a testament to the quality of care and the individual attention that every patient receives in our office.

Business Owner

Dr Rottjakob graduated from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in 1983. He moved to San Jose in 1986 and bought his practice in Almaden from a retiring dentist. Dr Rottjakob continues to upgrade the technology in his office to keep up with the ever changing progress in today’s dentistry.

In his spare time, Dr Steve enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis.

This place is amazing. I had my 2nd cleaning from this place and I already miss them. The hygienist are awesome as well. I literally fell asleep while she was cleaning my mouth and that NEVER happens. That just shows how good she is LOL. Can’t wait to go back

Dr Rottjakob and his staff are amazing! They’re very friendly and always make you feel like you’re number one when you come into their office! They conversation with you so before you know it, your visit is over! I haven’t even had to be anesthetized for the last two times I had cavities and they have a way of making me feel at ease!
Trish did my last cleaning and she is so sweet and caring! I am the type of patient that has to cancel due to my work schedule and they are so understanding and forgiving! This team ALWAYS has a smile on their face and feel like family to me! I actually look forward to going to the dentist and I don’t fear going to the dentists! If you don’t have a dentist I would totally encourage you to go see Dr. Rottjakob and his team! Wonderful dental office!

Dr. Rottjakob and his staff have been very friendly and helpful. They make sure you are comfortable and help you focus on other things that distract you from the numbing needle. I had a pleasant experience with getting crowned and do not have the anxiety I had before with other dentists.

Dr. Rottjakob and his staff are amazing. I was referred to him by a colleague at work and have been coming for nearly 5 years. Most recently, I brought my 3 month old son who patiently waited for the most part of my cleaning and exam. When he started to fuss, the hygienist let me pick him up and soothe him before moving on. Everyone was very sweet and accommodating.

I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to write a Unilocal review for Dr. Rottjakob’s amazing dental practice. My family has been going here for over 25 years and we couldn’t be happier with the service and care we receive every time we go. I can safely say I hate going to any doctor apt but I LOVE going to the dentist because of how attentive the safe is here. The scheduling is impeccable — you can even book and adjust your appointment with via text (for the smart phone saavy). The dental hygienists are so kind — I truly consider Laurie and Trish friends who I am excited to catch up with when I go in. Best of all, Dr. Rottjakob is one of the most amazing people ever. He is super professional yet hilarious and always blunt and straight to the point. I’ve gotten some of the best advice from him and I know how much he & his team cares about my dental hygiene. Even now that I have moved to SF I still make the commute down to south SJ to see Dr.

I have been with Dr. Rottjakob’s office since he began his practice in this location. Love him, Linda and the rest of the staff. This is the only dentist who gave me a cancer screening, ever. Even when I moved away, I have returned in the summers for care. I recommend him highly.

I have been a patient with Dr Rottjakob for over 20+ years. I have moved from Almaden Valley, but continue to see him and Trish. She does an amazing job with cleaning (I won’t see anyone else so she better keep cleaning as long as I have teeth), and Dr Rottjakob is thorough, gentle and honest. The staff feels like family, and it’s nice catching up on each other’s lives. Let’s face it, most people have some fear of the dentist, but this office, which runs smoothly, on time and are helpful and friendly make it a relaxed environment. I love that the place is modern and clean!

All went very well for our last teeth cleaning visit. Cleaning was for me and my 95 year old mother. It makes it so much easier when we can both go to the dental office at the same time. The hygienists did a great job of cleaning for both of us. It was determined by Dr Rottjakob that my mom needed a root canal. He even called the dentist for the root canal, and scheduled the root canal appointment with their receptionist. Dr. Rottjakob is a great dentist, very knowledgable and he even helped me get my mom out to the car. My mom is one of his new patients and really likes him much better than other dentists she has visited.

Everybody hates the Dentist… let’s face it no one relishes the idea of getting poked & prodded, scraped & sanitized. Dr. Rottjakob & Staff make the experience as pleasant and informative as possible as it could be… BUT, it’s their personalities that separates this group from the run of the mill dental office. At the end of the day, it just isn’t that bad!!! Kudos for a professional job continuously well done!

This was my first visit to a new office since the dentist i had been going to for years retired. Si i chose Dr. Rottjakob’s office because it was close to home. I was just going in for a cleaning. The receptionist was incredibly helpful in rescheduling my appointment when another engagement popped up, as well as helpful and knowledeable with the insurance paperwork. The office is clean and has a comfortable waiting area. The hygienist I had was both incredibly nice and gentle while cleaning and explained what she was doing. The doctor was professional, brief, and thorough in explaining my situation. I don’t like going to the dentist, but the experience i had at Doctor Rottjakob’s office was as painless and pleasant as it could have been.

I have been going to Dr. Rottjakob for over 15 years now, since I was a young teenager, and for good reason — he takes GREAT care of his patients!
I have had my share of terrible Dentist experiences in the past, but I never fear with Dr. Rottjakob and his team! He and the ladies in the office do exceptional work, and they really CARE about their patients.
Most recently, I had restorations done by Dr. Rottajokob. Knowing from my previous experiences with him being a perfectionist with his work, I had no doubt that he would make my teeth look as perfect and natural as possible, and WOW! People notice my straight teeth (since I had braces just before the restorations were done) but most of the time, they don’t even realize they are restorations! That says a lot right there.
And, even though the office is no longer a convenient location for my home or work, I will still continue to go to Dr. Rottjakob and his staff because I trust them and they do excellent work! Not to mention, they’re a fun bunch of people, too :)

Dr. Rottjakob and his staff are the best! How many times does your four year old say «When is my next dentist appointment, I can’t wait!». Everyone there is so friendly and knowledgeable, you feel like they are family. I needed a couple of crowns and some cosmetic work on a front tooth and he did an amazing job. When my mother came to town for a visit, I made an appointment for a consult for veneers on her front teeth. They were able to schedule everything so that on her next visit her veneers were ready and now she has a beautiful smile.
Having had many dentist in the past, I am so glad that I no longer dread going in for care. I feel at ease and actually look forward to seeing everyone there. Dr. Rottjakob’s skill is the best I have experienced and I would recommend this office to everyone.

I can’t say enough about this office and staff. Simple cleanings used to be very painful for me. Dr. Rottjakob and his hygienist spent a lot of time working on my teeth sensitivity. Now the cleanings are absolutely painless. I wish I had come here years and years ago. I broke a tooth in the late evening in the past year and my wife broke a temporary crown even later in the evening this summer. Both of us were taken care of that night; no waiting until office hours with a broken tooth. Incredible. All repairs are done perfectly. The goal for the entire staff, no matter what you are in there for, is that you will have no discomfort, and they achieve it too.

Dr. Rottjakob and his team were excellent in every way! I recently spent a good amount of time at his office for crowns, fillings and veneers. Everyone was very cheerful and made me feel at ease each time I walked in the doors.
Dr. Rottjakob is hands down the best dentist Ive ever visited, he was always smiling and checked to make sure I was not in any pain several times during each visit. One of the best things about Dr. Rottjakob is that he is a perfectionist, which means nobody leaves his office without looking and feeling amazing!

dr. rottjajob has got to be the best dentist on the face of this planet. even while spending hours with a drill in your mouth, he and his staff put you at ease and make sure your experience is nothing less than perfect [as perfect as a visit to the dentist could possibly be].
dr. rottjakob is friendly, down-​to-​earth, professional and a perfectionist.
the office is incredibly clean and brimming with state-​of-​the-​art equipment.
