Door 2 Door Moving & Storage

When our stuff was picked up in AZ on 7÷24÷14 we were told that our estimated date was 7÷31÷14 — 8÷6÷14. It’s now the 8^th, I’ve called numerous times and been told I’d receive a call back. Right now, the national customer service says that they haven’t heard back from the local delivery place. We already paid for movers for tomorrow, Saturday, thinking that several business days AFTER the long range of what we were told would be a safe bet.
Now I’m being told that the likelihood of it being delivered today is slim, which means that it will maybe be delivered Monday if it arrives… but no one knows where my stuff is.
I would have spent the money to rent a moving truck had I known I’d be without my things for 3 weeks.

GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE !
Few hours after the initial Unilocal posting I received a call from the customer service person –Shane regarding my experience and I explained to him about my situation.
He offered to move the rest of my belongings at ‘NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE’ as soon as I was ready and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
on 4÷28÷10 as promised they sent the truck with 2 people to complete the move. Johnson and Charles were very good and efficient and completed the move.
We had one mishap in the last move, my 36″ Sony XBR TV slid out of the truck during unloading and fell to the ground and broke. I am waiting for the Door 2 Door team to reimburse for the damage :-(
I appreciate the Door 2 Door team for their customer service.

Initial Review
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY — They did not move all items that were on a NOT TO EXCEED BID — because half way through the packing they felt it was not profitable to take all items and left them behind.
This was a local move from Union City to Pleasanton
The foreman and crew arrived and we showed the foreman — Michael all the items we wanted to move and requested for a estimate. He informed that he cannot give a FIXED bid until they start packing BUT gave me a NOT TO EXCEED PRICE so that I know that the move costs are with in my budget before they start the work. I signed the paperwork with this amount.
This is where the trouble started.
After several hours into the packing the foreman instructs the crew to STOP packing several significant items that were part of the NOT TO EXCEED BID and says ’ that’s all we can pack for the amount we agreed upon and will have to leave behind the rest ‘. The REST was MORE THAN 30% of the furniture and other items.
I still have these items tagged and sitting at my home and now I have pay additional to get another moving company. This is outright cheating !
When I demanded that he take all the items that were tagged in the ‘NOT TO EXCEED BID’, he says ’ for the labor and packing, its is not profitable to take them any more unless you pay any additional 40%‘
What type of a business practice is it when you give a not exceed bid and hold the customer for ransom half way through the job?
With time running out we decided to move what was packed.
There was NO inventory of how may boxes of what kind were packed that we could account.
Once we arrive at the destination — they demand that we pay before they can unload.
They unpacked and threw the cardboard in the garage and left.
I took a count on the highest priced item ’ Dishpak — $ 54.99′ — this is fully packed box of dishes and glassware –my final document has a count of 15 but I counted physically only 9. –I was over charged to make up the profit margin.
DON’T USE THEM — UN-​ETHICAL BUSINESS.
