Steven R Pogue

I went to Steven Pogue close to 10 years ago. I was rear ended by a car due to a car in front of me stopping on a freeway entrance. The insurance company for the car that rear ended me said they would not pay to fix my car because the accident was caused by the car in front of me. They said I would need to contact the insurance company for the car in front of me that stopped unexpectedly. (Keep in mind that I did not rear end the car in front of me. I stopped because I was traveling within a good distanced and realized what the person was doing and therefore stopped in time.)
I was getting the run around by both insurance companies. The insurance company for the car in front of me said to contact the insurance company for the car behind me. The insurance company for the car in back of me; who rear ended me, would not answer my calls. The one time I did reach them they said they would not pay to fix my car.
The damages were about $ 500.
I was desperate and didn’t know what to do. I was driving down Berryessa Rd and saw a law office. I stopped and spoke to Mr. Pogue. I informed him of my situation and he proceeded to tell me that they were probably giving me a run around because I was young. Also, because he only handled claims above a certain amount. (Which mine was lower than that amount. I can’t remember what the amount was) He wouldn’t be able help me because his attorney cost would be more than the damages. However, what he did next I will never forget. As I sat in his office, he said what he could do was make a quick call to «scare» them. He didn’t charge me. Although this situation was something he would typically not handle. He made a 10 second phone call and left a message for the insurance company for the car that rear-​ended me. He said that was all he could do and wished me lucked. I was there for not more than 10min. So I left. I left feeling defeated. I was young and it was during Christmas time and every penny counted.
I never heard from either insurance company. Or mine. I didn’t have the greatest insurance company either. However, a few weeks later I went to my insurance company to sign paperwork on the claim and waiting there was a check for an amount a little over the damages! I couldn’t believe it. Although the amount was small, at the time it meant a lot.
I would recommend Steven Pogue to anyone who needs to seek an attorney. He was compassionate about my situation, and making that 10 second call speaks volumes on how he is as an attorney. To help victims and people in their matters. I can only imagine his ability if he was a hired attorney.
