Dave Ichimura, DDS

I have been going here since the late 70’s when the doctor before him started his practice. I love the staff. Alice has been there forever, its like seeing an old friend everytime I go in there.
I hate going to the dentist, but Dr Dave and his staff are very accomodating and make the appointment pleasant. Easy to get to and the parking is great. They have also been able to fit me in when I have had issues.

If I could give him 10 stars, I would. I am another patient who has been coming here for many years even prior to Dr. Dave acquiring the business. I have gotten to know Dr. Dave and his staff over the years and their service is outstanding, from Alice in the front to each of his other staff members. Dr. Dave’s caring, kind manner is not reserved for his patients, he also treats his staff extremely well (according to his staff).
Luckily, I have only had to have two minor fillings completed by Dr. Dave but it was painless and I nearly fell asleep. As another Unilocaler said, I look forward to my visit every 6 months!

This review is long, long over due. I have been a patient of this particular dental practice since the 70’s, but Dr. Dave Ichimura is the third in a succession of dentists who has owned the business. I was so happy to find a dentist that was painless. Then he sold the practice to another dentist, a very good dentist and also painless. But truly the best of all of them is Dr. Dave. Not only is he an excellent dentist with a kind, patient chair-​side manner, he is an artist and provides the best customer service. Twelve years ago I had some cosmetic dental done by Dr. Dave and when the lab repeatedly sent him a crown that was the wrong color, he actually drove over to the lab in Pleasanton on his day off to rectify the problem. I don’t know of any other dentist who would have done that. He’s the best dentist I have ever had in my life and it is evident how professionally the office is run because every one there has been working with Dr. Dave for years and are all so kind and professional. Over the years I have referred many friends and they all love him, too. If I ever move out of the area, I will still come back to San Jose just to go to Dr. Dave.

I really enjoy Dr Dave and his office staff. Everyone is friendly, efficient, and attentive. Most of the staff have worked together for many years. The hygeinists are efficient, respectful and friendly.
I know how important a trustworthy dentist is and I so appreciate Dr Dave! I’ve received great dental care, good advise, all delivered with a sense of humor and in a comfortable environment. Dr Dave has on occasion referred me or my sons on for specialized care, and in every case the referrals were excellent.

I have been coming to Dr. Dave since he first took over this practice in the 90’s. I was referred to the previous dentist that owned the business, after horrible experiences trying to find a new dentist when moving to California. I am an extreme dent-​ti-​phobe and have the worst anxiety when it comes to the dentist. I am very hard to work on. I was nervous I was going to have to hunt again for a new dentist, but Dr. Dave ended up being not only as gentle and understanding as the previous dentist but even more personable. He always goes out of his way to take his time and make sure I am comfortable and that my visits are painless as possible (gas, movies, jokes, bubblegum gloves, etc.). He has usually called me in the evening to check on me after my visits if I have had work done and it was emotionally upsetting for me, just to make sure I am doing okay. He goes out of his way to hand hold and make sure I am completely comfortable. He even came in on a Sunday once a long time ago for crown repair emergency for me because I was freaking out. I have moved out of state before for a couple years and I still made my visits back to Dr. Dave. He is well worth the travel. He has also helped me get over some of my fear. I used to get faint just sitting in a dentist lobby. He never has turnover in his staff, so you get to know them well, and they are all very friendly. Never thought I would say this in my lifetime… but I love my dentist!

I was so disappointed with the service here today. I walked in to my appointmnt only to be greeted by the receptionist Alice saying «Did you get my message I had to reschedule your appointment. We are so busy to take you in today» I drove across town asked permission from work to show up to my appointment just to reschedule? This was very unprofessional and inconsiderate of my time. I will not be returning here!

Dr. Dave is the best! Alice the receptionist is awesome, too!

I love Dr. Dave and his awesome staff!!! I’ve been a patient now for about 3 years and I love going to the dentist. How many people can say that? I’ve gotten 4 members of my family converted and at least 3 friends.
Specifically: Dr. Dave is super gentle with his instuments, I rarely feel the shots being administered. He’s not an awkward person to have conversing with you, while having dental work done.
Lynn my dental hygienist is fantastic! She’s knowledgeable and genuine. I never get a lecture about my Starbucks addiction even though I know I deserve it.
Rose and Alice keep the place running like clockwork with smiles on their faces. It’s really a great team.
Not to mention all the goodies they provide. You’ll have to be a patient to find out.

Best referral I ever received. I used to be really nervous about seeing the dentist. Maybe even afraid. Dr. Dave and his staff have helped me feel more comfortable and confident with each visit. It has been wonderful to have pain free dental work. If Dr. Dave was my first dentist, I would have saved years of anxiety and been smiling with pride along the way.
Honest, Caring, Friendly, Fair Price, High Quality Experience. Recommend for adults or children. Definitely a top pick.

I can’t say how the service is because I’m not a patient, but my fiancé is! It is nice and clean inside. They offer a comfy sofa and a mini fridge filled with sugar high goodies! They have all kinds of soda and apple juice and toys for kids to enjoy.

I have the fortunate luck of having 2 great dentists’ in my life time one is my childhood dentist who retired when I was in high school and finding Dr. Dave through a mutual friend. I will not go to another dentist as long as he has a practice. I get nothing but the most exceptional care from him and his staff are very courteous every time I come in for a check up and annual cleaning. I have recommended him to several friends and have had no complaints in regards to my recommendation.

Love Dr. Dave and his entire staff. He’s great not just with my husband and me but with my kids as well.

(By Libby) I’ve been going to Dr. Dave since he first came to Moorpark Ave. He was hand picked to take over my previous dentist’s practice when he moved out of state. Dr. Dave is wonderful. He makes each person who comes in feel welcomed and special. He has snacks in the waiting room and free stuff with his info on it at the front desk — like nail files and fridge magnet clips. He has laughing gas if you need it, and he lets you watch movies on a virtual reality headset while he’s working on your teeth! He’s a really great guy, and everyone who works for him is nice, too.
When I moved up to Berkeley I decided to go to a new, closer dentist office. I had a horrific experience. I won’t go into detail, but it made me realize why some people are afraid of the dentist. I came crawling back to Dr. Dave’s office and they happily took me back. Now that I live in Seattle I still plan to see Dr. Dave. I can schedule my dentist appointments around trips home to see my family. I hear I’m not the only one who does that… I’m not surprised.

I actually look forward to my bi-​annual appointments with Dr Dave.
