I had to have a tooth removed — never a fun procedure, and Doctor Hayashi handled it well, not easy considering we’re talking a molar that went through two root canals and was pretty darn snug in there. She got it out, put in the grafts, gave me information (including, seriously, her home number) and plenty of advice. I had almost no pain afterwards, little bleeding, and as of this writing the stitches are out and I’m waiting to heal. And I miss corn chips but I have to learn to eat them again with one tooth missing.
Doctor Hayashi does know what she’s doing. She also errs on the side of caution — if something isn’t necessary she won’t do it, if something is needed she’ll note it, and if an extra exam or a longer wait is needed, she’ll do that.
You never visit an endodontist as part of your regular checkup, it’s never for anything common or simple. But she makes it a far easier experience and she knows her stuff, so you have warranted confidence in her work.

I thought Dr. Hayashi is good. So, I’ve been continue going her office even some negative experience with hygienist or receptionist.
Now, I started to think that surgeries that I had in her office may not be necessary. I had two surgeries and both failed to achieve their purpose. One is to save teeth, other is stop having deep pocket. I should have second opinions before accepting recommendation of having surgery.
She is nice person. My surgeries experiences are good — no complication, no pain.
But having surgeries at other dentists, they are equally good. and they are nice doctors.

I went to Dr. Hayashi for gum surgery about a week ago and was very pleased with her staff and their friendliness. She explained to me exactly what was was doing and made sure that I was never in pain. Even when the surgery was done, the numbness had started wearing off and she asked if i wanted another shot. Very accommodating and friendly place. My gums seem to be healing very nicely and without a lot of post-​surgery pain.

I have been seeing Dr Hayashi for a few years now. The staff is awesome, and Dr Hayashi is super sweet, gentle and a wealth of knowledge. I had to have gum surgery on all 4 quadrants and I was soo nervous — each surgery was easier than the last. They are really conscious about pain and do their best to make sure you dont feel any. They are also great about follow up visits. She ensures her work lasts and does her best to educate you on how to improve your dental situations. I am also working with her on a tooth extraction, along with my orthodontist, they are both making sure that my tooth that was stuck is moving and the gums around it are healthy. I would highly recommend Forest Periodontics to anyone. THANKS Dr. Hayashi!
PS — the front desk staff is awesome as well– you can always tell they have a smile on their face when they call to remind you of your appointments and they always know your name when you walk in.

Dr. Hayashi is super nice. But then again you can go almost anywhere to meet a nice person and not have to pay $ 160. Let me put it this way: I have heard glowing recommendations about her work as a dentist. And I admit this is the most important part in her success as a business. So if that is all you are worried about (whether or not she is a knowledgeable and proficient dentist) then there is no need to read any further. She is great.
My criticism lies more on the business side. Today I paid her $ 160 OOP to hear the EXACT same thing that my primary dentist referred me to her for AND this information was provided to her previous to my visit by my primary. Yes she «recalculated» his work but the conclusion was the same. The only difference was that my primary thought there would be a need for a procedure and she did not. OK. Sooo then if she doesn’t need to see me back AND she only told me things I already knew… Then why did she still charge me $ 160 for 10 minutes? She should honestly address this. I left there wishing to throw up.
This may say it all: When I was completing my new patient forms they asked for my email address and used this quote as the reason why they wanted it: «We are trying to get on email.»
