Dr. Lim is a Board Certified Prosthodontist who is specialized in Esthetic or Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Implants, and Full Mouth Rehabilitation cases. Dr. Lim is a specialist in both the restorative and surgical aspects of implant dentistry. Dr. Lim’s office has in-​house dental laboratory with a master ceramist. This ensures quicker turn around time and the highest level of quality control and service to our patients. It allows for perfect customized shade matching for the hard to match front teeth. We also have an I-​CAT Cone Beam CT scanner in office. Dr. Lim also provides services for TMD, sleep apnea, teeth whitening, root canals, invisalign, dentures, and family dentistry. Dr. Steve Lim received his DMD with honors from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. He then completed specialty training in Prosthodontics at the Tufts University of School of Dental Medicine where he graduated with honors as well. At Tufts he was also a clinical instructor for the Graduate and Post-​graduate Restorative Programs for 3 years. Dr. Lim has presented and lectured his knowledge internationally.

Dr. Lim is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a Diplomate of the American College of Prosthodontists, Dr. Lim is also a Fellow of the International Congress for Oral Implantologists, Dr. Lim also serves as a dental expert for the California Dental Board, and is a member of the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Lim is also the Director and Founder of the San Francisco Study Club. Currently, Dr. Lim maintains a private practice in San Jose.

I visted Doctor Lims office after i was having problem with my oringinal dentist and I am SO glad I went to his office. His staff is all extremly friendly and including himself. He wants the best for his patience and he is willing to work with you ! I had to get a numberous amount of work done unfortnelly because i have not visted the dentist in a couple years and i would say when he got done with the work i needed before i go visit the ortho for my braces i got so many compliments already ans that made me feel so good ! I honestly feel personally after my expierence if you are looking for a good dentist go visit him he does have a few other dentist that do work for him but i am so happy with ny results!

My temporary crown just cracked (my fault as I have waited to long to get the permanent). I called Dr. Lim on his emergency number and he immediately said he would meet me on Sunday to take care of it because I told him I have an important presentation Monday afternoon. Not all crown materials are the same, and this is one area where it makes sense to get use best materials and go to a person with specialized training. I’m grateful to Dr. Lim for always doing his best to keep my teeth healthy.

I have been having really painful TMJ/​TMD symptoms and no dentist or doctor has really been able to help me. I go to Lim at San Jose dentist and he looks at my jaw, and my teeth, and listens to what I have to say and is able to tell me exactly what is wrong and what I need to do to fix it. I’ve always known my bite was off, but not that off.
I started crying afterwards because someone finally listened to me and was able to help me. I’ve been in so much pain for so long (more than 10 years), it’s nice to have a solution. Thank you so much. And besides the amazing Dr. Lim, the staff was kind and excellent and the place was clean. They didn’t charge me for the visit either, just for the temporary mouth guard that actually alleviated my pain.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Lim’s, since he took over the practice from Dr. Keller. Dr. Lim is a highly educated and knowledgable dentist. I really appreciate his expertise and his caring manner. I’ve had quite a bit of work done (cavities filled, crowns, bone graft, dental implant) and I’ve come to trust Dr. Lim’s work. At 50 years of age, Dr. Lim is only my third dentist. I have to say I am a nervous patient and he and the staff always takes the time to help me feel comfortable and to calm down. I feel cared for here and not just another butt in the seat. Dr. Lim has called me at home to be sure I’m alright and to see if I need anything. As a side note; Im not the best at flossing and they don’t shame you for it. They offer advice without the lecture.
As far as the office staff go, there has been some turn over and I think they’ve worked out all the kinks. In working with my insurance and payments, they have been professional and flexible. I really like the staff and I feel comfortable and welcome. I know it must have difficult for some patients to adjust after the death of Dr. Keller, but I am really glad Dr. Lim is my dentist and I always look forward to seeing thd staff.

We went in for a consultation and got royal treatment. The staff is super friendly and all of our questions, and we had many, were answered thoroughly. The doctor was very personable and walked us through everything. We haven’t actually had work done yet, but we will go here to have it done and my daughter wants to switch from her old dentist to this place. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because we haven’t had the work done yet.

I love this office! I had procrastinated taking my wisdom teeth out for a couple years. When they started to come out, they came with a vengeance. I called around and this was the only office that could do an urgent same day consultation.
Their staff is very welcoming and friendly. The manager stayed with my son while they took an X-​RAY. Dr. Lim came to see me and could see how much pain I was in. He saw my wisdom teeth were putting a lot of pressure in my mouth. I was miserable! He made room in his schedule to take them out the same day.
This office is so accommodating and seem like they truly care. I would recommend them 100%

I don’t understand the poor ratings, but as a unbiased opinion I can tell you this.
The staff is really nice and professional, despite the accusations and reviews that they are not. The office is very professional, clean and welcoming. Dr. Steve Lim is very kind friendly and patient.
The service is quick, thorough and efficient. Unfortunately there are some poor reviews but I though they were so absurd that they needed to be given a fair assessment. So, go and check them out for yourself. Don’t let these poor experiences or harsh reviews mislead you from a really good dentist!

I came to Dr. Lim after seeing a dentist who did a very poor job «fixing» what she said were issues. I left that practice needing A LOT of corrective work done with a very small budget. Dr. Lim has done a FANTASTIC job correcting everything with absolutely no problem.
Throughout the corrective work, everything went great! I never had a temporary come off, the appointments I made never needed to be changed by the office, and Dr. Lim always gave me options and great explanations regarding what work needed to be done. The atmosphere at the office is fantastic and the staff is all extremely helpful. I would recommend Dr. Lim to everyone!

I can only say positive things about Dr. Lim and his office. I had a couple of implants put in just yesterday and I wasn’t even nervous at all. He did a fantastic job as always. I will never go to any other dentist office again! They have the newest technology equipment. The staff personnel is very professional and super nice. The office itself is super clean… even the restroom! Actually I was quite impressed with the restroom because it was/​is exceptionally clean and all new. Thank you so much for all the great work you have already done and are going to still do!

We found Dr. Lim since his new office is located near us off Bascom. My husband went to him first came back raving about how great they were. I booked my appointment a week later. He was so right! They are awesome! They did such a great job cleaning and the Dr. even did a little extra sanding on one tooth that was chipped and causing staining. What I really loved most was how nice they were and that they didn’t turn into a car dealership and just try to sell me garbage like my last dentist in Los Gatos. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a dentist.

Dr. Lim has been my dentist for 8 years. He has done routine cleanings, filled cavities, and made a night guard for me. All of this was done with the highest quality of work and his office staff has always been professional and courteous. The best work however has been the crowns and veneers he has done for me. Perfect color, and fit, I don’t ever feel any discomfort, and my smile is fantastic. His new office is ultra modern, and I always feel well cared for. I recommend him for any and all dental work. He is my dentist for life.

I will not return to this dentistry. I really tried to go out of respect for my previous dentist, but there are so many problems with this practice. The hygentist that was great, of course has left. What remains is an unprofessional front office, they don’t seem happy to be there. Dr. Lim tries to hard to be your friend, and not a concerned Dentist. I really want a dentist that apologizes if he/​she makes a mistake, not beat around the bush. I can’t trust him. I’m going elsewhere.

I highly recommend Dr. Lim, as he is a world renowned prosthodontist — the best one in the Bay Area (trust me, I did my research!).
I’ve been going to his office for cleanings and cavity fillings for over 2 years before I decided to trust him with one of the most important things in my life — my smile make-​over for my wedding. Dr. Lim did an amazing job! I used to always smile with my mouth closed, never showing my teeth. Now, my smile is so open and radiant. I’m not afraid of showing my pearly whites and I am constantly getting compliments on them. This literally made me a ‘happier’ person — I smile widely all the time!!!
Dr. Lim and his staff are caring and professional. Everyone who works at his office seem to genuinely enjoy what they do, and they are always cheerful and helpful. No one likes going to the dentist, but this place makes it as enjoyable as it can be. And if you’re looking for a smile make-​over, Dr. Lim is your guy!

I came into Dr. Lim’s Office a week ago since I had two cavities needing filings. I called into the office a week before I would be back home in the Bay Area and they scheduled me with no problems. I really appreciated how they gave me a reminder call a few days before my appointment as well!
This dental practice is very professional and the staff is amazing. There is more than enough parking and I had no trouble finding his office. The front desk was very welcoming and I was impressed with their high tech Ipad registration forms instead of the conventional stack of papers. The office itself is spacious and beautiful and everyone that worked there went out of their way to say hi or give me a smile.
The filings were done very quickly and my teeth feel great. Dr. Lim did a great job and now that I am home from college he will be my dentist. I highly recommend him and his practice. He is very friendly and I could tell he cares about his patients. I have had many dentists but Dr. Lim is the first one I have had that I felt I could totally trust with my teeth.

Hmm… Not sure why everyone is raving about this dentist office.
It’s the first and last time I’ll ever go.
First off, I couldn’t tell if I had just walked into a dentist office or a strip club when I met with Sally to go over a treatment plan. She was wearing a super low cut shirt and I could see all her «goodies», which I didn’t appreciate.
She was so rude and inconsiderate when going over my plan with me. She told me I would need a lot of work done that I in fact don’t need! I went out and searched for a second opinion and they informed me she was incorrect.
This place needs someone who can give out correct information with proper professionalism.
Clean it up!

Super friendly and inviting office… but I hear they’re moving to an even better location two doors down!
The staff is welcoming and friendly, and Dr. Lim is awesome, makes you feel like family and you’ve known him forever.
Recently went in for impressions and WOW, they rocked it. I’ve had braces 3x and every time I swear they mix the paste wrong and choke me! Not here. They had just finished up some safety standard meeting with a trainer. It’s always nice to know they’re staying informed about sanitation and cross contamination to keep their patience safe.
Location is a little hard just because it’s a divided road, you’ll have to flip a u-​ie if you’re going back toward Santa Clara. Totally worth a visit.

The reviews on here are a little misleading. Obviously most reviews are from Dr. Lim’s former practice in San Francisco. Believe me, there is no view of the bay from Bascom Avenue.
Dr. Lim has been my dentist for over a year now, so I think I have given him and his staff enough time and visits to form an opinion. Over the past year I’ve had three cleanings, a crown (with follow up) and a minor cavity fill. I have no real complaints about the dental work itself. Unfortunately, Dr. Lim’s staff are unprofessional, lack attention to detail and are just plain rude. Appointments are confirmed via text message, phone call, and then a second phone call. The staff doesn’t seem to get along. The billing coordinator can best be described as mean and uncooperative. I guess I’m the only guy who has questions about insurance coverage because this lady is completely put off that I asked a couple questions.

Dr Steven Lim sold his practice to Dr Potesta-​Knoll and Dr Knoll this past year but they’re ALL awesome. I had Dr Lim remove a tooth for me in November and since he sold the practice he incorporated Dr Potesta-​Knoll and Dr Knoll into my treatments. The transition was WAYYY easier than I was afraid (no one likes change) but they’re all so nice and helpful. Dr Potesta always has a smile on her face and Dr Knoll was very warm and understanding to any little issues I had with my dental implant.
And their Nurses and support staff make appointments so simple and always glad to see me! Especially Sue who I’ve been dealing with since last year when she saw me through my worst!
Ada and Bella are also super duper real and they’re so nice I don’t think «nice» is the best way to define this team! And Dr Potesta has a few new nurses/​support staff who I don’t know the names of but I just don’t think there’s every been a grumpy person in that office.
Although I have no insurance coverage and I am paying for everything myself, they’re one of the few that I will say, money well spent and well worth it!
