Cookies N Cream SJ

I like deserts, so when I throw out a desert without finishing it, that’s a bad sign. I got the mint chip ice cream with chocolate chip cookies. The cookies were very dry — I couldn’t get through it with the provided spoon so I had to break it with my hand and then scoop some ice cream on it. The ice cream was mediocre at best — certainly didn’t have the vibrant mint flavor I was hoping for. I got about half way through it and just wasn’t enjoying it, so I ended up tossing the rest.

This is now my favorite ice cream sandwich shop and look forward to patronizing them at the weekly, Monday night, Off The Grid food truck events. The ice cream is rather good and the cookies used to complete the sandwich are yummy. This is especially important because the brick and mortar competition, such as «Cream», have not yet learned how to make cookies that don’t crumble (ruining the experience because you wind up eating a ball of ice cream from between your fingers).
Cookies N Cream does not have problems with their cookies, they hold up just fine, without crumbling nor being too hard, they are just right. Their ice cream is tasty, of course my wife loves the brilliantly empurpled «Ube» flavor ice cream and is thrilled when it’s available (which is most of the time). I also enjoy Ube, a sweet tuber from the Philippines that is reminiscent of a sweet potato but tastes much better and makes a lovely ice cream, and I also enjoy their other flavors, lovingly blanketed in between a pair of white macadamia cookies, it’s so yummy!
The service here is excellent, you always get a honest, happy smile, your order is always perfectly taken and executed, and it’s ready rather rapidly. It’s the perfect culmination to a lovely evening at the weekly, Monday night, Off The Grid food truck event. Kicking back, licking the sides of the luscious ice cream sandwich while snuggled into the comfy outdoor chairs and listening to the soft live music is the perfect way to enjoy the end of the day while the sun sets slowly.

We came during a small, local food truck gathering for dinner and shared an ice cream sandwich with chocolate chip cookies and a scoop of «Too Die For» ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, brownie, and peanut fudge swirl).
Cookies were too soft for my taste, but I appreciated the sandwich was served in a cup and spoons were available; makes it easier to eat any drippings or fallen pieces. It made for a nice, sweet treat after Eat On Monday.

It’s always smart to show up as the only dessert truck in a sea of savory ones. It worked on me. Got a scoop of salted caramel and it was pretty good. However the food truck organizers had a worker that seemed to keep hitting on one of the girls so we had to wait until the end to get our fare. Maybe they didnt care at the end of the night but customers not being able to get an order in is problematic

My friend booked these guys for an event and they never showed up. Whats worse is that they never bothered giving a cancelation call, email, text, or whatsoever. My friend tried to contact them and they never picked up (ignored?). Very unprofessional and evasive. I guess they were too busy to spend a moment to reach out and let us know they couldn’t come. It’s a coin flip on whether these guys will show up. Feeling lucky?

This place from my experience wasn’t the best. It wasn’t horrible as I don’t know how ice cream could be disgusting, but it wasn’t fantastic by any means. I am however a picky person, so you can take this review however you want. The ice-​cream seemed more like the flavor of hershey’s chocolate. The ice cream lacked that chocolaty fudgy quality I craved. Cookies are mediocre compared to CREAM or Diddy Reese (best ice cream cookies!) Overall I was disappointed by the mediocracy of this frosty dessert.
Conclusion: Not worth going out of your way for.

Like the other posts. No-​show to a wedding. Had to suffer the embarrassment of not having a dessert besides our wedding cake. We even put them on our menu only to get guests constantly asking us where the surprise dessert was.

These guys were a no show at my sisters wedding. They were properly booked for the event, confirmed date, time and details of the event in email and over the phone. The night before the event, the wedding coordinator called them multiple times to confirm they were going to be there and no pickup. The coordinator called during the wedding to find out where they were and no pickup. After the event they sent my sister an email saying — sorry we didn’t show up, hope you had a good wedding…
WTF! Who does that?
Point is, don’t ever book these guys for an event, clearly unreliable. They hardly apologized for not showing up and there was no misunderstanding on dates or times or anything. Clearly they don’t care about their customers.
I’m not a fan of negatively bashing a business, but this was seriously embarrassing considering it was printed on wedding menus and people were looking forward to it. The time and effort put forth in finding a vendor, planning details etc was completely wasted and it ended with a negative experience. What a waste!

I’m disappointed and shocked by the lack of professionalism of Cookies N Cream. We booked them to come to our wedding, had our menus printed with their names, was in communication on the phone with them up until the night before the wedding — at the wedding they didn’t show up, they didn’t call, they wouldn’t pick up their phone when we tried to reach them, and even after the wedding they never followed up. I would never recommend hiring them for your event — they are the most unprofessional vendor I’ve ever seen and have already been placed on the «do not work with» list by many of our vendors.
I hired Cookies N Cream to serve Ice Cream Sandwiches at my wedding, we had sent e-​mails back and forth to confirm time, date, and logistics. We went to meet them in person two weeks before the wedding to lock down all details and we were really excited to have them at our wedding.
The night before the wedding at 5 pm I received a call from the truck manager, Sinh, he told me that the truck had broken down and wouldn’t be available for another week. I was a little disappointed — but hey. stuff happens — so we worked out another plan to have them serve ice cream sandwiches from a table at the venue. I was a little concerned about how it would look but Sinh assured me, «We’ve done weddings before, we know what we’re doing!» Given that this was the best of a bad situation and that it was 8 pm the day before the wedding I went with it.
We had Cookies N Cream printed on our menus, we told guests about them coming — people were excited! They were supposed to arrive at 8:30 pm at our wedding. Our wedding coordinator called them 6 times and they never picked up. Our guests were asking about when the ice cream truck was coming. they just never showed up and couldn’t be reached.
I was shocked that a business would be so unprofessional — our caterers, photographers, photo booth, venue, coordinator were all astonished that a business would just not come and not give any forewarning. I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt so a few days after the wedding, I emailed to see if they were okay. The reply I got was:
Hi Angie,
Thank you for this email. We just got our truck back after a terrible ordeal with our transmission.
We hope your wedding went ok despite our absence.

Not even an apology or an explanation. We had coordinated up until the night before the wedding and they assured me they would be there. Had they told us they weren’t making it even an hour before the wedding I would have been okay, but to leave me and the guests hanging without a single piece of communication after they assured me they would be there. this is just an embarrassment of a business.
I can’t recommend them whatsoever — don’t waste your time contacting them, book another reputable dessert truck for your event.

These guys just no showed at a friends wedding. You would think you would call and let someone know that you can not make it.

They were a NO-​SHOW at a wedding reception last night. The wdg planner called them at least 6 times and no call back. Their truck broke down on Sat. so we were prepared for them to serve on a table at the reception. They were due at 8pm to set up and serve… yet they never showed up. We cannot imagine what happened or why they failed to let the planner know why they didn’t show. We hope they’re ok, but no call or text? Unacceptable.

Store bought cookies & too frozen store bought ice cream. mmm? Disappointed, expected a specialty item. Not even close

1. New Whirl Order Sandwich $ 4: I tasted their Black Berrylicious first, which was super good, but wasn’t what I was feeling. Went with this flavor instead and it really hit the spot! The ice cream itself has a rich caramel taste and had bits of oreo and other stuffs mixed in. Has a rich and sweet flavor that was exactly what I wanted. Super good ice cream. The cookies themselves were quite good too. Almost chocolate chip overload… maybe could do with a little less of the chips, but still great cookies. Thin and chewy the way I like them. 8.5÷10.
I’m gonna get something from this truck every time I see it here at work.

Cookies n Cream is «To Die For». haha. That’s one of the names of their ice cream flavors. They’ve got flavors I’ve never heard of before. I was introduced to Ube and Macapuno which are now my 2 new favorites!

Had the opportunity to try an ice cream sandwich last week! Can you say, delicious? The cookie was freshly baked with a scoop of cream ice cream! The staff is super friendly and the prices are right! Looking forward to my next treat!

Awesome people with awesome ice cream! They are so friendly and are willing to let you try a flavor if you are having a hard time deciding since they offer so many flavors. I went with the favorite of the owner — blackberry and I was not disappointed! The ice cream was smooth and not too sweet. Flavors ranging from watermelon to green tea and beyond! I cannot wait to try some other flavors!
I tried them out at a Relay For Life event. So nice of them to donate their profits to the event! I know that they also do private events and school events too.

Boo yeah! A new ice cream truck from the south bay. This bright pink truck definitely caught my attention when I saw it. They have a very basic and simple concept but the execution is where it gets tricky. Ice cream sandwiches… sounds pretty simple to do right? I’ve tried to make it myself and failed pretty bad.
Their cookies are warm to the right temperature where the it doesn’t melt the ice cream too fast. The cookies do not crumble much when you bite into. These guys did it right! A must try in!!!
