Um ok so maybe I didn’t buy the cookies that everyone was talking bout. I actually just searched dessert on Unilocal and came up with this place with hella cakes! Well there may be a reason why there’s so many cake on display… although they are pretty. They are definitely not up to par. For a shop that’s supposed to specialize in cakes AND cookies, shouldn’t they have both? Granted we went and got cake at like 11pm. If their cake aren’t fresh anymore, I would hope that owners take pride in what they sell and not sell ones that have obviously been left out. It’s disappointing cuz the cake was not moist or fresh. When u cut into the cake it’s dry. They are definitely not worth the $ 6. I feel cheated. Will not be recommending anyone to get cakes here.

Chocatoo has coffee, tea, various chocolate products, and many kinds of baked goods(tiramisu, cookies, brownies, tarts, bars. popcakes, macaroons, etc.) eats are displayed in a rectangular counter, so comparing eats side by side is difficult. eats: decadent chocolate brownie(3.75) –addictive, not sure if sugar or chocolate dominated, think the former. –most bakes on the pricey end. i.e. cookies@3. 3.5 stars crumbs: –quick service, –offer made to warm up brownie. thoughts of gooey mess. passed. –decadent eats? maybe or maybe just sugared up…

This place is so delicious! I like the chocolate chip cookies that are full of chunky chocolate! The Reese’s peanut butter cups cookie is also delicious too! Warmed is the best way to eat it. The white paper bag does get oily so you have to eat the cookie quickly!

THATSMORESCOOKIE. A home-made feeling with heavenly softness and freshness that just melts into your mouth with an intense depth of flavor(of fresh warm dough and warm melted chocolate bits) after you sink your teeth into the just-crunchy-enough shell for a double whammy of consistency and texture. It’s one of THOSE cookies. Be careful, it is very sweet.

The triple chocolate chip cookies are deeeeeeelicious! Considering how thick they are, the cookies are super crispy on the outside and cooked all the way through so they’re not all doughy. Even some of the chips tasted like they were slightly coated in butter, a little crispy and a little melty(was not expecting such a conflicting consistency). Also got the Reese’s peanut butter cookie. Not only was there chopped up peanut butter cups on top, throughout the cookie there were little bits of peanut butter chips inside! Well-worth $ 3 a cookie! They also ask if you want it warmed.

Cookies are served hot. I had the chocolate chip one and it was delicious, but a bit overly chocolatey so it made it hard to finish, especially without some milk. However, for the price, I could’ve gone somewhere else for something similar. Way too expensive. The key lime tart was overly sweet and wasn’t that great. I wouldn’t recommend it. It was good to try this place out since Unilocalers seem to really like it but I don’t think I’ll be back. There are tons of other places that serve desserts just as good if not better for a lower price.

Best cookies I have ever had. Chocolate chip was the best, PB second, DBL chocolate second(crunchy melted goodness), M&M second… there is nothing bad at this place, I’m partial to old fashioned, buttery chocolate chip cookies, that’s why they get first place, but they are the best I have ever had! Big cookies, heavy, ANDTHEBEST… so at what price do quality and value balance out? When do the scales begin to tip too far one way or the other? I spent $ 16 for 4 cookies… does that say anyhthing? Yum!

Chocatoo, i love your delicious Reeses peanut butter cookie. :) This place definately caught my eye with all their fresh baked cookies! They also have a lovely display case of additional chocolates and goodies. The girls here are nice and helpful! I couldnt decide which cookie to get and they recommended their peanut butter cookie. I was a bit hesitant since i typically dont like peanut butter cookies. But it was warm, moist, and gooey, so yummy!

I loooooove their cookies! Workers here are soo friendly and I just love these cookies. They are the type of cookies where you bite in and you just go like OMG. Yup! When you’re having a bad day or just need a rainy day snack with coffee! Or when you need that chocolate fill!

The best place for dessert at SPSM! My favorite option is the s’mores cooking. They’re really messy, so grab a few napkins. I’ve tried almost every dessert in the case at Chocatoo(except the gluten free options). The volcano cakes are amazing. I also love any of the cheesecake options. The red velvet cupcakes are springy, and the frosting is decadent. On occasion, I’ve picked up a hot tea. Unfortunately there isn’t a loose leaf option, but the tea bags are decent.

I brought my friend, who loves to bake and has a dream of opening up her own bakery, to San Pedro Square for a late lunch. We sat right next to the glass cases of this stand. As we’re talking, I noticed her eyes wandering to the glass cases and it was hard to hold a conversation since she kept pointing out the different desserts they had. I knew we were going to have to get her some sweets to bring home to try! It was a difficult decision, but she decided to just buy cookies since we were staying at a hotel in the area overnight and she wasn’t sure how anything else would hold up on the way back home since she wanted to share it with her hubby. She also bought me 3 cookies to try. .. the chocolate chip, the Reese’s peanut butter, and I believe the Smores. I had the chocolate chip for breakfast the next day(don’t judge me! lol) and it was ahhhhhmazing! I totally regretted not trying it when it was fresh out of the oven the night before. The other 2 cookies were left behind at another friends house. .. he also said they were REALLY good. .. so now I need to go back just so I can try them! Obviously, the cookies are a must here!!!

I’m a big fan of there triple chocolate chunk cookies! They are worth $ 2.90. At first I was hesitant to get it, but I took the chance and I’m glad I did. I love going here, I can’t wait to try more desserts, but my favorite is their cookies! LIKEOMG, good size and the best taste.

Holy crap these cookies are delicious! As soon as you enter the building, you can totally smell the fresh goodness. They are in the middle of the plaza so you definitely cannot miss this little joint or bypass without looking. The glass cases are very tempting, but get the chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies. They warm up the cookies upon purchase and they melt in your mouth. I also ordered a macaroon, but the cookies are what’s up here.

Envision a chocoholic Golum rubing his hands while waiting in line at this store eyeing the chocolate displays saying…“Precious…My Precious!’. Ok, he might not be appealing to the imagination but he does say the darnest thing for this review… OK! moving on… Precious little pretty thingies… and like a kid left in the candy store I am one of those googly eyed patrons who check out whats in the counter. Been here twice. First time was for the hot cocoa they offer during nights. I like the fact that they ask if its for an adult or a child since they serve it deliciously warm for the kiddos without burning their tongues in the process. very considerate. It’s definitely a one up on that factor. The people are pretty nice and they give you ample attention depending on how long the line is. My second visit was with friends and we sampled their chocolate marshmallow(their own recipe and handmade) with…(drum roll please…) BACON! and some other decadent chocolate creations Honestly, it was just a hype with chocolate and bacon… it was something to try(for about 5 buckaroos) but it wasn’t successful for me. We also had that dark chocolate with raspberry and chilies… i think it was habanero. I am like wow that was very risqué and probably exotic. Tasting it… it was smooth and spicy. The flavor is ok but not exciting for me afterwards. My daughter had a fruit flavored one that she enjoyed… forgetful as I am, I forgot the name(blame it to a history of spinal anesthesia — like I always do) Hee hee! 3 stars!

This little shop inside San Pedro Market Square has a wide array of specialty desserts and hot/cold drinks to go with them. Cookies, macaroons, cake pops, chocolate, tarts, mousse… a lot more that I wish I could each sample ~ Instead, I just got a couple of macaroons this time — Raspberry and Chocolate. Both were sweet, crispy, and chewy. I’d get them again and more if I lived closer. Great little place. Lots of choices. Nice area around too to lounge and chat.

Like: location at San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose. Great spot for after meal desserts to bring outside to eat. Triple Chocolate cookie was yummy. They offer to warm it up, which of course I said yes. Credit card payment is touch screen, which is super high tech and neat. Dislike: tiramisu cupcake tart looking cake thing was very small but decadent so I guess it didn’t need to be big. Another time ordered this nice looking chocolate cake with frosting encircled with a chocolate border and after I put my fork into it turns out 75% of it was frosting with a small layer of chocolate cake at the bottom. I would’ve liked more cake please.

How would I describe Chocatoo’s triple chocolate chip cookies? I can’t even! Amazing, amazing cookies here. Probably one of the best cookies I’ve ever had. Get the Triple chocolate chip cookie, ascend into heaven and thank me later. The cookie is huge, easily shared between two people or one gluttonous person(like myself). It’s crisp edges, thickness and gooey center makes consuming this cookie make you feel as if you are being hugged from the inside out. They can also warm these up if they haven’t just took a batch out of the oven but are still so amazing. I remember buying a cookie, driving back home to East side San Jose and biting into the cookie still warm and gooey on the inside. That’s pretty magical right there you guys. Love how you can watch the workers here making the sweets and treats before your eyes in their open kitchen and enjoy whatevers playing on the big screen. Definitely worth a try if you’re strolling through SPM or even eating here, grab a cookie for dessert– maybe two!

Incredible dessert and coffee joint in the middle of San Pedro Square Market! Their dessert selection varies from cakes to macarons to their famous cookies. Their macarons are only $ 1.50, which is unheard of! I chose the pistachio and vanilla, and they were so moist and tasty! I would’ve bought more but had to control myself. I saw tons of people picking up the macarons as well. I also ordered a vanilla latte and it was perfectly done. Lastly, their cookies. I’m not a big cookie fan, but I had to try. I got the chocolate chip cookie while my friend got the smores cookie. I could not believe how much chocolate was in this cookie. Chewy and moist all in one cookie. It was by far one of the best cookies I have ever eaten. This whole time I thought Specialty’s cookies were the best in the area, but these knock them out of the park! As I sat at their bar area, and smelled the fresh cookies baking, I saw their cookie supply dwindle quickly, especially their chocolate chip cookies. Luckily they have milk, which is perfect to wash it down with, but coffee for the grown adults in us is a perfect combination with these sweet treats. The service here by the staff is impeccable, they work quickly, efficiently, and with a smile! They mentioned their peanut butter chocolate cookie is also a favorite, so that will be my next to try, along with all their various macarons! Highly recommend for dessert or a coffee pick me up after dining around the SPSM area.

Wide variety of yummy treats. Located right in the middle of San Pedro Square Market is this little kiosk. No line, just a lot of people trying to decide what they should order because EVERYTHING looks good. I tried the Lemon Tart($ 5) and a Pecan bar($ 4). The lemon tart was great, super tart just the way I like it and the crust was buttery goodness. It was huge, easily split between three of us. The pecan bar was loaded with pecans, a mouthful in every bite. Reminds me of thanksgiving, they need to transform this bar into a pie during the holidays and it will fly off the shelf’s! I would recommend trying both!
