Came here on Friday night and had the tritip sandwich, coleslaw, and Cajun macaroni and cheese. It was very delicious! The tritip was nice and tender and wasn’t too overstuffed with meat that the sandwich remained put together after each bite was taken. The macaroni and cheese was incredibly tasteful and not too spicy! The customer service was great and it took around 15 minutes before our food was ready for pickup. Not too bad for a busy day at the market!

Uhmmmmmm yeah. Not good !! If you choose not to read the entire review, just TURNANDWALKAWAY. There are plenty of food options around here. When I write table side reviews it’s either really good or really bad. I guess I can never hit a 5 star place twice back to back. note: My phone was at 4% when I started this review, and at 1% when I finished. I have a huge case of FOMO(fear of missing out), and having a dead phone to me without a link to social media is like breathing without air. This is how serious i felt to get this review out. So I ordered the trip tip plate, 6pc wings and their«famous» Mac and cheese When we picked up our food I was disappointed at the size of the tri tip. For $ 19 you would think it would look bigger than that. It looked like a 3oz piece of meat if not smaller. RIPOFFREPORT. Why are all the other tri tip cuts bigger than mine that are posted on Unilocal? Tri tip: Flavorless meat which I had to dip into vinegary Bbq sauce. House made I presume. JUNK. The Hawaiian roll is also a MINI roll and compare it to my tri tip. Mac and cheese: Looked amazing with a slight crust of spices on top. First bite, wtf velveeta cheese and no salt. Worst Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. Another house specialty? HAHA(Nelson laugh from the Simpsons) Chicken wings : This was only item that was decently flavored. Nothing special tho. Have u guys had the Costco wings? Ya those are wayyyyyy better. Juicier and they have more flavor. The wings here were on the dry side of course. Without the blue cheese it would have been inedible. Conclusion: The chef must have been hungover and couldn’t taste any of the dishes prepared that day since their taste buds were dead. Or the kitchen ran out of salt and seasonings and were too lazy to go buy more. Another possibility is that they just DONOTCARE . Take your money and empty tummies elsewhere. There’s plenty of options around here. Someone walked by and commented wow that looks good. I told them it’s really not, don’t go there . Brays, welcome to my blacklist :)

Writing this review as a reminder to myself to not order the chicken wings again. $ 7 for 6 wings– all dry, seasonless, and disappointing. Hoping I remember that I only ate 3 of the wings before giving up on gaining any sort of satisfaction from my meal. I ended up giving the remainder of the wings away. If I do come back here again, I hope I remember to try something else. Reading the other reviews, I’m sure Bray is better than their texas chicken wings… I will have to let them redeem themselves another day.

Wasn’t really sure what I wanted. The man working asked me a few questions and suggested the pulled pork sliders. These were a winner for me. He offered to make me one so I could decide how many I wanted. I settled on two, which might have been a lot for someone who isn’t super hungry. These little sliders are tasty, slightly spicy, and completely loaded with pork. Fantastic. The people working were super awesome, too. I’ll come back. There’s a lot of food on their menu.

Went here today after the bay to breakers 5÷15÷16 while there was a Sharks game on the TVs. Come here and get a good deal on 4 pulled pork sliders and have a beer nearby. Food is great quality and awesome intense flavors. If your on a diet they sell them individually but they are so small to eat just one or two would be ridiculous. Just directly across there is a dessert spot if your still up to it. Beautiful chocolate chip cookies. Seating is casual and families are here all over as well as a few serious professional drinkers. If your friends all enjoy different foods and you’ve got difficultly choosing a restaurant there is no better solution to make everybody happy. Wagon Wheel saloon next door for the after party — a very chill bar that you will come to love.

The food was honestly mediocre. I had the tri tip sandwich with a side of their baked mac n cheese and it was okay. They didn’t put a lot of meat in my sandwich. Not the best in my opinion. Don’t think I would eat here again.

Came by for a quick dinner the other day and this San Pedro Market vendor did impress! Ordered the ½ Rack of Ribs and the portion was huge! The ribs almost fell off the bone, were flavorful, and most importantly, tender! The coleslaw was okay, although it could be a tad creamier. Service was friendly by the staff. There are a few seats at the counter or plenty of seats inside the Market. ~$ 17 after tax for a quick meal.

I was in San Pedro Square and decided to hit this place up for some dishes, as it was bookmarked and I don’t get to try my bookmarked places that often. Mac and cheese — 4 stars. Very creamy but needed something more. Blue cheese coleslaw — 2 stars. My fault here because it had onions and I can’t stand raw onion. Paid $ 7 for both of these, not bad. The cashier looked super unhappy with her job which was a drag!

Just had lunch with my friends here OMG delicious ! I had the chicken barbecue sliders, mac and cheese and polenta. I wanted to try the pork sliders but they were out so they gave me a 10% off next order … Score! My close minded, never want to try anything new, friends loved it too ! Employees are super friendly, definitely coming back!

Easily one of the best eateries at the San Pedro Market. I keep going back for the tri-tip and the French dip sandwich. Love the side dishes too. The deep fried polenta is amazing. One of these days I will order that all by itself. Skip the long lines next door and choose wisely with some smoked or grilled meats. It’s what’s for dinner.

I’ve given this place a few more tries since my last review and I guess I caught them on a bad day last time. I’ve been ordering The Rueben with either corned beef or the pastrami and it has been delicious! Sometimes the sauerkraut can get overwhelming but the meat is definitely TOPQUALITY. My only issue with the sandwich was that it was kinda hard to pick up and the bread got slightly soggy but that’s okay. Either way, I’m starting to enjoy coming here. I will definitely be back!

Dropped in before the Sharks game. Service was quick. 4 bbq pork sliders for $ 10. Sliders were juicy and had good flavor. Would come back again!

The Tri tip sandwich real good $ 13.50 but you can slit it was someone the sandwich is full of tri tip with Swiss cheese in a black pepper bun. I’ve tried the tri tip sandwich twice both time I left happy. Bray Butcher block Bistro is located it San Pedro Square in the back there is plenty of seating. Will up date this review when I try more stuff there. Most definitely will be back

Out of all the places I could have gone, I chose Bray. Seriously, this is an economist’s wet dream, perfect competition in action. Overall, I wasn’t disappointed. Knowing I probably wouldn’t come back anytime soon, I went for variety. I got two different sliders, the BBQ chicken and the pork. Honestly, after all the BBQ sauce, it was hard to tell the difference. But they came on a very bready bun, were as messy as you’d expect and got the job done. I also ordered the Mac n Cheese. It was a small cup, so good as a side. For me, Mac n Cheese is like an art film, you always come in with high expectations but are too often disappointed. Here, it came through. It was cheesy without being unbearable, and the flavor was spot on. Light and delicious.

I MIGHT have given this place 4 stars if the meat wasn’t so dry and overcooked. I got the Tri-tip sandwich on a hungry, hungry, Saturday night. This comes with a side of cole slaw and is placed on a onioned bun. When I got my order, the aromas hit my nose and I was super excited to get a taste of this GREAT sounding sandwich. Like I said, the meat was over cooked. I like my steak medium rare, so for this was WELLWELLWELLLLLDONE, which was not good. There was an overdose of BBQ sauce on the sandwich and it was a bit spicy. I don’t mind it, but I just didn’t expect it. Unless there’s a change to the cook on the meat, I don’t think I would come back for the tri tip sandwich. Perhaps I’ll try a couple of the other items on the menu… but yeah… I mean, on the bright side… the cole slaw was good.

Ordered: — tri tip sandwich $ 13 — a bit dry on the meat and somewhat overdosed on the sauce. Good BBQ wouldn’t need that much sauce! Huge sandwich though, nicely cut in half. — mac and cheese $ 5 — super super cheesy and baked into golden brown on top. Could use more seasoning(basic salt and pepper) but overall pretty solid. Nothing special stood out about this place and honestly, to expect a great BBQ joint in the middle of San Jose is to expect a little too much :/

While this restaurant is small in size, it makes up for it with the large sandwich portions and big smiles upon the employees’ faces. I ordered the Corned Beef Reuben($ 9.99) and Baked Mac & Cheese($ 3.50), which came with a free side of coleslaw. The Reuben was delicious! Everything from the fluffy bread, to the juicy meat, sauerkraut, and condiments were tasty and of high quality(5 stars). The mac & cheese, while small, was creamy and had a bold taste(4 stars). The coleslaw was nice and tangy, even though it’s rare that I eat coleslaw(4 stars). Moreover, there’s only two reasons why I lowered the overall rating from 5 to 4 stars: I arrived around 3:30pm on a Thursday, and they were supposed to be open during that time, which they weren’t( Unilocal might have the wrong business hours). Since I was excited to try their food, I waited 1.5 hours for them to open. Also, while I know that downtown San Jose can get pricey, the food served at Bray’s is expensive enough to stop me from eating here more than I’d like to. If I could get the same meal for $ 12 instead of almost $ 15(after tax), I would probably come here more often.

My daughter and I came here last Sunday after walking the Viva Calle event. My co-workers love this place so I thought I’d give it a try. First of all the young girl behind the register was not friendly at all. Or should I say she lacked any enthusiasm. Smile more! This is a food stall inside San Pedro Square that showcases Meat meat and more meat. Okay, they have a few non-meat options too. We ordered: Mac-n-cheese: über creamy and rich. It comes in a small cup but it’s plenty to share which is what we did. Jerk Chicken on a stick: seasoning was good but it wasn’t what we were expecting. I envisioned something more on the lines of what you’d get a an art and wine festival. This was a full chicken breast that was pale and weird. Hardly even touched the grill long enough to get grill marks. Grilled Chicken on a stick w/housemate BBQ sauce. This was like the jerk chicken but w/o the spice rub. Weird looking and pale not really«grilled». The BBQ sauce was good though. Carne Asada on a stick. Cubs of lightly seasons beef on a stick. Nothing special. Some bites were tender and some were tough. We must have ordered all the wrong things because there was not one thing we tasted that would bring me back again. To bad because I had high hopes.(Sad face)

Gotta say that I’m super glad that I found this spot(and decided NOT to go to Konjoe for once) after the massive disappointment that was Smoking Pig BBQ. It’s not a straight BBQ-only spot, but they have some pretty damn good baby back ribs and mac and cheese. Not the best baby back ribs I’ve had, but they were pretty easy to get off the bone, flavored real well, and slathered with a ton of saucy BBQ. Mac and cheese was pretty cheese and had unique flavor to it, but it worked really well. All I know is that I left very satisfied and super full. Another spot worth coming to at San Pedro Square!
