We got introduced to Shawn, through our realtors Randy and Vinh. Shawn helped us with a tough loan (for buying a new home) in a neighborhood with litigation. He and Michelle were very reachable and replied to our emails promptly. They did their best in pushing the lender and ensuring that they meet the deadlines. Shawn and Michelle helped me refinance my home earlier this year. Having never managed the refi process myself before, I had a lot of questions, and I found that they were both very responsive to my questions and e-​mails. I felt very comfortable with the attention that I received.
There were a couple of minor hitches and it took a while for my loan to close, but I don’t believe this was in their control. Throughout the process they were very responsive to my concerns. I would gladly use them again.

I find the mortgage process to have trap doors and gotchas at every turn. The one with Shawn and C2 had less. Of the 4 mortgages /​refis I did in the past 7 years, this was the least stressful.
However it was not free of gotchas. The appraisal came in at 79% loan-​to-​value. Great, I thought — I’d get the promised loan rate with no points. Not so. I was told that the appraisal needed to be 75% LTV because it’s a condo. (Surprise!) Only with an additional $ 4,000 in points could I get the promised loan rate. I had to come up with more down to get LTV below 75%. This left me broke and to the summer of my discontent. :(
Also my social security number and other personal info was sent unsecured via email. Not good.
Would I use Shawn and C2 again? Yes! But only with a clear agreement beforehand of the rate and how LTV would change it. And the SSN issue was just an error (I think) but it’s an error that shouldn’t happen in the future.

Shawn & his associate Michelle were really great in brokering the refinance of our home in Santa Clara. I originally chose them because they where close by (and I did meet Shawn in person) but they could have been anywhere. Everything was mostly done online & with phone calls.
Shawn & Michelle were very responsive when I needed questions answered. Most of the time, Shawn would answer his phone right when I called. If not they always emailed or called me back the same day, usually within a few hours.
Shawn is very professional and has a very calm demeanor. No pressure or fast-​talking, which is a pleasant difference from brokers I’ve had in the past.
They closed our loan in one month (way faster than it took me to finally send this review, sorry Shawn) which also something that never happened in the past.
All in all, we got a good rate & a fast closing. YES

It was actually the third time I had reached out to them over 2 years as I was waiting for rates and my home value to align before I refinanced. We were mistakenly reassured by Shawn Sidhu’s great online reviews when we chose him to work on our home loan. He presented us with an attractive mortgage rate and he promised a quick approval process. We felt further reassurance since our credit ratings were excellent and our prior home’s loan approval with another agent was rapid and flawless. However, with Shawn we encountered multiple delays without merit. He asked for documents already supplied, and his replies were vague and unconcerned. He was too casual through this incredibly stressful ordeal. We almost lost our home purchase due to the delays.

I had the pleasure of working with Shawn when refinancing a rental property. My relator provided his contact information along with a few others and after pre-​screening three others, I knew that he was route to go. The information that Shawn provided was current, accurate, and he made it extremely easy to trust the process. Shawn is the real deal: professional, knowledgeable, polite, honest and hard-​working. I talked with him several years ago and was impressed by his responsiveness and ultra-​competive rates (lower than the deal we had in the works). When we needed to refi again, I turned to Shawn and he delivered.
My spouse and I have done at least four refi’s in past years (as well as two new-​purchase loans) and this was easily the best experience we’ve had. There were a few last-​minute requests caused by the bank issuing the loan, but Shawn and his wonderful assistant Michelle helped us every step of the way and Shawn patiently answered our questions rather than conveying that ‘just do what I say’ attitude we’ve encountered elsewhere.

I am writing this review on behalf of my fiancé. We contacted Shawn after reading great reviews on Unilocal and we were definitely not disappointed. The fact that there are so many great reviews speaks for itself. Both of us (my fiancé and I) were new to home buying experience and Shawn did a good job of getting things done on our behalf.
He took care of everything needed for the whole process starting from getting the loan approved at a low interest rate to the point of close of escrow. He communicated well with our real estate agent and she even quoted — «Shawn was good to work with».
He knows the business well and patiently responds to all our questions and doubts even in the middle of the night.
