History

Established in 1982.

At Bright Solar we began installing solar hot water and pool heating systems. We have worked for the major pool builders as well as many residential customers. We have commercial and residential systems that are still operating after 28 years. As solar electric systems came in to the residential marketplace approximately 12 years Bright Solar began installing solar PV systems. We are very experienced and we offer only the highest grade of components.

I began installing solar heating systems in 1978. In 1982 I obtained my California state contractors license. I have class B-​1 General contractor, C-​36 plumbing contractor and C-​46 solar contractor. Over the years I have maintained a professional and respectful approach to my customers. I have installed thousands of solar panels in swimming pools and hot water systems. When solar electric started becoming popular in the residential marketplace 12 years ago, I began installing PV systems. My solar installations are in both residential and commercial. I have always installed the highest quality of products available in the industry. My most important item in business has always been my customers. I am proud of the fact that I have never had one bad comment or mark on my contractors license in 34 years.

Using our Pool already in May thanks to Bill Bright and Bright Solar.
Bill installed solar pool heating for us during the winter. He was a pleasure to work with. Affordable, friendly, informative and high quality components. We turned on the Solar end of April. When I had a question on the programming, Bill got me an answer back immediately. A week or so later after some warm and sunny days the pool had gone from low 60s to 80 degrees.
I highly recommend Bright Solar.

I don’t normally write reviews, but my engagement with Bright Solar was such a great experience I wanted to share along with my highest recommendation…
After discovering a leek in one of my pool solar coils, I needed to get someone out fast. Bill came highly recommended to me from the manufacturer. I talked to Bill by phone first and discussed the issue. He was able to schedule me in a few days later and brought out the replacement coil. While assessing my system he discovered it had not been plumbed to the manufacturers recommendation when originally installed. He confirmed with the manufacturer and we agreed to get it installed correctly to prevent further damage to the other coils and improve the system performance.
Bill is professional, was flexible with my schedule and availability to meet, was there on time, took the time to explain what was happening, came back to check on the system to ensure everything was working properly and even made some additional adjustments to improve the performance at no additional cost. I couldn’t be happier with my experience and highly recommend Bill and Bright Solar.

Bill installed our solar system in February. Previous owners had a system and removed it, saying it «did not work». Bill’s design works awesome — we have 80 °F water already in early April, 77 °F in mid March. Bill was amazing to deal with, knowledgeable, patient with out concerns, able to explain the deficiencies in prior design and why he believed his will work. Installation was fast, and Bill dealt promptly with some equipment problems at no cost to us. I will likely ask him to quote me an electric-​solar system too, now that I saw his capabilities.

I was in need of replacing my antiquated and inefficient pool solar and Bill Bright’s company was highly recommended to me. I have been totally happy with the results and his willingness to work with me in a timely fashion. I stongly recommend using Bright Solar if you need a quality pool solar system as well as working with a person of great integrity. You will not be disappointed.

I had what looked like the solar water system for the pool, had a leak, because there was a little water coming from the down spout w/​o rain. My system has been in for close to 15 years and Bill Bright originally installed my system. It has worked perfectly since day one. What’s the chances of Bill still being in business after all these years? People change jobs, businesses change owners, etc. Well, I Googled Bill Bright, and found out he’s still around, and still doing solar. I left a message for Bill, and he called to make an appointment for him to come out, to check on my system. He said he had a couple of jobs he was working on, but could come in a couple of days. But, first turn off the solar as not to lose water. A couple of days later, Bill comes over and finds a small leak in one of the 9 coils. He repairs the leak in a short time, tests the system, and all is well again. It was good to see him again, and hoped not to see him for another 15 years. Just kidding. Couldn’t ask for a better job than that, and to get that many years out of something constantly running all that time. Great Job Bill!
