Australian Tan

Had a great experience today with the manager Matt! He is super easy going, problem solver, and has great customer service skills. I can’t say the same for the other local locations I have visited. Hope they hire more managers like him.

Today was my second day of Australian tan at the blossom hill location.
My first day was yesterday and I screen shot this promotion they had going on from there site which is $ 12 for unlimited tan for a week in any bed level including a spray tan.
Definitely came in handy before leaving to my trip in Hawaii in a week!
I then read the fine print, since fine print of course you always have to read before you start asking all these question that’s already on the advertisement. The promotion said $ 12 unlimited tan for a week. Looked at the fine print on the bottom which said completely different. It said for 14 consecutive days. Which in my mind I thinking okay awesome so I can basically use it for 14 days if that’s what it says fine print. Me working years in customer service, that would be the company’s mistake and that would be something they would have to honor since it shows of the advertisement for everyone to see.
Monday morning I showed up which was perfect timing because no one was there and I was able to get into a bed right away. Wrong.
I also explained to the girl what the advertisement said. She seemed in no mood to be at work which I understand Monday morning which looked like she had nothing to do. A gentleman was there which they seemed pretty «blah”(if that makes sense) the girl didn’t know what to tell me and turned to look at the guy that was on the other computer. Then they tell me that the advertisement is wrong and it should be 7 days since it’s only for a week. Completely understandable but when there’s a fine print on the bottom for a reason I think it should carefully be looked at before you post it on a site for thousands of people to see.
Didn’t bother making a whole big deal so I didn’t bother saying anything and said okay.
Bought a tanning lotion to help my tan.
Afterwards the girl charges me and asked if I had the little glasses to cover your eyes which I thought is something the place provides. Doesn’t tell me I have to pay and just charges them with my total. She could have told me I had to pay extra. There not expensive, but I would like to know way before hand before I’m getting charged left and right. The whole process of just checking in signing paperwork took a long time. Morning crew should defiantly maybe be a tad nicer and more alive I would say.
Today, Tuesday the 12^th of January I walked in to get my second tan done. Tired from work I still go In.
Both brunette girls were super nice and had great attitudes when I walked in. Even tho we didn’t talk much they had a great personality when it comes to service. Walked in did 2 more minutes of time. Walked out and asked the girls in the front some questions. Still super sweet.
I like this location but a bit of a drive from home and work. Will probably go to Campbell location and try it out. But so far not to satisfied with the whole advertisement
With the tanning I like my results a lot

I have been a long time customer of Australian Tan and I can’t complain about anything. All of the girls that have worked here over the years are very friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have.
I mainly go to the Bernal or Blossom Hill salon but have also visited the Saratoga location and the one in Sunnyvale. I have never had a bad experience. Ocassionally the spray tan booth is out of tanning solution but it’s an honest mistake. Other than that, their facility is super clean.
I use the spray booth and get their airbrush tans. You will never look orange because the solution they use is very good quality. I always have a bronzy glow.
I can’t imagine canceling my membership. If you are wondering if you should try tanning, give this place a try. You will not be dissapointed.

I’ve worked at a tanning salon before and I’m very familiar with how everything works. I’ve always been skeptical to go here because everyone has different reviews on how their experience went but I can absolutely say so far it has been amazing. I walk in and I’m greeted and I immediately get set up in a bed. The place is always clean the staff is always so nice and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

This review is for this particular location and NOT their policies/​corporate practices (don’t get me started!) plenty of beds, I think the most I’ve ever waited was a couple minutes. The staff are always super friendly and have no problem explaining things to you. My recommendation is check what you’re signing up for and when you do cancel, make sure they don’t keep charging you because they have a «no refund» policy

Awesome services and great customer service. I purchased a 1 year membership, it was a little pricey but for the service I don’t mind paying the price.

Relaxing clean and it gets the job done love it the friendly staff is a plus :-) the fact that they have many locations available is awesome.

I wanted to get airbrush tanned for a wedding, I went to a different place their machine broke down and I found Australian tan Blossom Hill location and called them around 8:45 pm closing time, Gina was super nice waited for me and did a great job and I definitely going back and recomend this place!

Just came to tan and relax. Angelina was so helpful and reminded of my discount for $ 5. She is always supper sweet and helpful.

This place is great: the beds are good quality and there is a large selection, the girls that work there are friendly and helpful, the place is always clean and organized, and the prices are very reasonable.
When I first moved to the Bay area a few months ago, I found Australian Tan through Unilocal and, even though the place was beautiful and the girls were nice, I really didn’t want to sign up for a membership because I don’t like signing commitments. But after checking out a bunch of other tanning places, I went back to Australian Tan and never looked back.
I signed up for their program where I pay a monthly fee for unlimited tanning beds and spray tans. With this program, you also get $ 20 a month towards any lotions they sell. I absolutely love it — I have been tanning for a few years, and self-​tanning forever. Their spray tan is amazing — even at the highest level (level 3), it never ever looks orange or fake, and I have never had a funky smell from it like I have from other places.
All in all, I am super happy with Australian Tan and I would (and do) recommend this place to anyone who likes to tan. The only thing I am cautious on is the girls there sell me lotions like crazy, but that’s their job and they do it well. :-)

Worst customer service ever!!! This is my first time posting on Unilocal!!!I’m that upset!!! Drive 20 min out of my way for their free tan night/​$ 5 spray tan wich was from 4 – 9,get there wait in line with my husband whom I convinced to try a spray tan, only later to be told that they were no longer accepting people for spray tan! It was 7:30!!! No sorry, no nothing, just a too bad attitude !! They could have warned us on the email first come first served, or come early, or given us a voucher for another day… Or a coupon or something!!! But nope just a oh well to bad attitude! Horrible!!! I will tell everyone never to go there again, which is too bD because I raved to many friends about the versa spa … Shame on you guys!!! One star for the fact that they offer the versa spa spray booth… I’m on the hunt for another salon that has it too so I can switch!!!

Simply the worst. If you want an honest opinion and the truth of this company, keep reading.
I was told one thing and got another. If I could give this store a rating of zero or negative one I would. In my 6 month subscription I went to this location a total of 4 times. I thought it would be easy and painless to cancel in the store or over the phone, but no, you have to mail a letter (at your own expense) to their corporate office in order to cancel. All the while they are still charging you for your subscription.
In other words, if you sign for a 6 month subscription to get a cheaper monthly payment, DO NOT expect that subscription to terminate at the 6 months because they WILL keep charging you every single month (reguardless of your attendace to the business) until you cancel it yourself.
For instance, if you havent gone to this store in 4 months and youre 2 months over your subscription, why does this business consider it fair to continue charging? If theres any suggestion I, as a business man and salesman, can make, its to NEVER GO TO THIS SALON.
Although their staff has superior customer service, the business itself is not profesional. They do not explain their terms and conditions reguarding cancelation, theres no legal documentation and theres no over the phone care through the store.
If you tan very frequently, you might want to consider this beat down embarassment of a business. If you dont tan very often, your better off going to the beach instead dealing with a major headache getting yourself untangled from this company.
Bottom line. This place, in my opinion, has given me one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a so called business.

Unilocal offers a spray tan here for a great deal. I decided to purchase and came out looking fresh to death. My white went away for two weeks and my body simply looked 10 lbs slimmer just cause I spent two minutes in a machine spraying my natural white skin to tan. I will be back in the summer time to do this over and over again.

The girls here are so helpful and kudos to their managers, these girls can sell! I came in looking to sign up to tan. Got the instant package for $ 65 a month I believe (so I can use the higher level beds) aaaaand I bought a lotion. Simple. Done. They were so helpful, informative, quick and didn’t make me uncomfortable while explaining memberships and prices when other clients came in. They also accidentally rung up my lotion wrong and overcharged me but fixed it immediately and were not a hassle. So far, love!

I give five stars for all Australian Tan locations. I began tanning at Australian when they first opened in Morgan Hill as it was close to my home. When I moved away, I couldn’t find a place that compared. Now, with all of their convenient locations and variety of beds and especially the quality of products– I will not be tanning anywhere else. Not to mention, their friendly staff! The girls always greet with a smile and usually by name and have been able to address any question or concern I may have. I am surprised at some of the negative reviews. I love visiting these salons as my little quick getaway from «mom life». So relaxing, clean and pleasant! Not to mention– it’s not a cheesy tanning spot that smells like Banana Boat oil! Five stars. Hands down!

«The customer is never right» is the motto of this company (corporate office included).
The Blossom Hill location is very clean (which is why I gave it 2 stars instead of 1) but the staff is not helpful and the corporate office is the same — if not worse. I had a couple of problems when I signed up and had to call the corporate office twice. The first time I called, I was basically told «too bad» and that was it. The second time I called, the girl was more cordial but they still wouldn’t work with me much.
I will not be tanning here again and I will not recommend this place to anyone. The company could care less about the customers — we are just dollar signs to them.

I had been going to the Gilroy location for about 8 months, and had recently moved back to San Jose. Well imagine my surprise when Sarah from Gilroy transferred over to the Blossom Hill location! She remebered me! She always remembers my name and such, makes me feel very welcomed
I recently decided that since I have my base tan, I would go to a cheaper package, and switched over starting this month. I wanted to take advantage of my package that I had the last couple of days left in the month before, so i went in– but it seemed that they had already switched me over, which basically meant I couldnt tan without paying that day. So I went home. A little upset, but I didnt push it. By the time I got home, I had gotten a call from the corporate office. It seemed that Sarah had called them to see what happened as soon as I left. They fixed it– and more! They gave me a month at my old level– for free! And I didn’t even ask, throw a fit, write a letter, call corporate. None of that.
So when asked how I like Australian Tan? I love it, because they take care of me. And thank you Sarah!

You can ALWAYS count on the girls at the front desk to be chowing down on food at the front desk when they ask for your name. It’s really quite annoying to say the least.
Otherwise, I’ve never waited more than five minutes to get a bed here and the two radio stations they offer get extremely old so I bring in my Ipo in with me.
Oh, and NO other Australian Tan has warmer beds and brighter bulbs than this location! They are switching out bulbs constantly it seems!
