We aim to provide a moving experience better than what you thought was possible — dare we say… enjoyable?

We accommodate moves of all sizes: whether you just need a couch moved down to your garage, a studio apartment moved across town, or relocating your family to a different city. We also offer expert packing and unpacking services, hoists, and piano moves.

At least one — but usually both — of the owners are on every job. We only use experienced movers so you never have to worry about untrained staff slowing your move down. We move fast, we move smart — in the end we’ll save you money and frustration.

Business Owner

Charlie was born in Dublin, Ireland and moved to the Bay Area 12 years ago. He has worked at 2 of the highest rated moving companies in the Bay area for a period of 6 years each.

Kevin hails from The Garden of Ireland — County Wicklow. He moved to San Francisco 11 years ago to pursue his dream of being a fighter pilot. Instead, he fell in love and settled down. Kevin now lives in Marin with his wife and toddler.

Kevin and Charlie have worked together for over 6 years. They both take extreme pride in their work and started Top Gun together because they believe they can offer a better moving service than people have come to expect.

Top Gun was amazing. I got a reccommendation to call them from another mom and she was right that they go above and beyond. Charlie was always on top of it and responsive to any question I had. I have a little one so I needed his bedroom on the the truck last and unloaded first at the new house. They were amazing come move day and Will and the other 2 men were amazing at packing the truck like a game of tetris. They moved our entire apartment, storage unit (off location) and ¾ of our garage in one trip. Their actual cost come in much lower than the estimate. All I can say is that they were amazing, professional, fun and very very hardworking! I tell everyone about them. :)

We bought a new couch from a popular SOMA furniture store that shall go unnamed here. Their delivery guys tried for half an hour and couldn’t get the couch past a turn in our stairs, even after taking the legs off. They got it wedged and stuck and, after gouging the wall, gave up, saying they didn’t want to «have to put their shoulders into it.» They wanted to take the couch back to the store and suggested we buy something smaller, but that didn’t make sense — the new couch was no bigger than the old one. We told them to just leave it in the garage. We called Top Gun, they showed up within an hour, and in 10 minutes, the couch was in place. These guys are THE BEST — and super nice to work with. We can’t recommend them highly enough. Would give them 10 stars if we could.

Another relationship ended, another move. While crying in my cornflakes, I called my trusty Corrib movers only to find they were booked up during my move window! Bummer! They recommended Top Gun and I’m so glad they did, these guys saved my skin. Available when I needed them, totally professional and absolutely crushed the move. I got them for both the packing and moving service. They showed up 10 minutes early, hustled nonstop, finished early and for less than the quoted price. In less than 3.5 hours, they packed all my stuff and moved me within San Francisco to my new place. Everything was packed well (I’m mostly unpacked now and the only issue was a broken $ 3 wine glass, which I could care less about, so no foul there!) and organized as best as they could manage with all my junk. Unpacking has been pretty painless.
$ 850 for the packing/​moving of one bedroom worth of stuff. Worth every penny. Highly recommend and would totally use again.

This company is fantastic! I completed the online estimate form and was contacted by Charlie within 24 hours with an estimate. Charlie was able to accommodate my move within 48 hours of my inquiry. On the day of my move, two movers (Will and Lupe) arrived 15 minutes early and were ready to get a jump on the day. Will and Lupe were efficient and professional — communicating their activity to me and protecting the furniture. Once they loaded the truck we left for my new place. Upon arrival they scoped out the new apartment and got to work. They helped troubleshoot getting furniture into the apartment. Additionally, they went above and beyond to help me position the furniture before they left. This company was the best experience I have had with movers and would use them again!

My wife and I found Top Gun on Unilocal and were SO glad we chose them to handle our move.
Charlie came over personally to do an estimate and was very thorough. The price range seemed very reasonable, and we were happy to hire someone who lives in our neighborhood.
He even strategized with me on how best to handle parking for their truck at both ends of the move, which was only four blocks. While he was confident that they could do with reserving parking spaces at just one end, I decided to play it safe and reserve 2 parking spaces at each end of the move with SFMTA, which was very worthwhile.
While we did all the packing of boxes ourselves, he delivered a huge roll of packing paper we bought from them, which made everything even easier. Plus, for free, they even brought over a big stack of empty boxes for us to have for free.
On the day of the move, Top Gun arrived with PLENTY of wardrobe boxes at no charge, for us to fill with clothes. They also took excellent care of wrapping our furniture in blankets and plastic to keep things clean and protected from «dings.»
Most importantly, the crew of 3 were professional and friendly, and they worked remarkably quickly and adeptly, navigating the 2 staircases at our old apartment and the 3 floors of our new home.
In the end, they worked so efficiently that our final charge was actually less than the lower end of the initial estimate. AMAZING!!!
I hope that we will not be moving again for a very long time, but I now know of EXCELLENT movers. The bottom line is that we would recommend Top Gun Irish Movers to anyone and everyone, most highly and without hesitation.

I loved Top Gun Irsh Moving and Storage! I had called them several months before I moved because I thought I would have to put my things in storage for a while. Charlie was so helpful and nice that when the actual move from SJ to Santa Rosa came I called them to do the full move. The price quoted was a little less than the other two companies I contacted but there was nothing cheap about their services. Will, Sean and Lupe worked hard but with good humor and completed my move smoothly and without incident. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality movers at a fair price!

I was in contact with Charlie regarding my move and he was very responsive and courteous. On the day of the move Will and Lupe were the movers and they were friendly, careful and very efficient. The total price was very fair and lower than the other companies that I had called.

I was recommended to use Top Gun by my apartment building I was moving into. Charlie, the person who I was connected with after filling out their estimate quote on their website, was super nice and very accessible. He answered all my questions and explained their fees thoroughly.
The quote they gave me was in the ballpark of what I actually paid and I felt at ease knowing there were no hidden fees that I was paying for. The team they sent were on time, efficient and friendly.
My only note from the move is that they do not wrap mattresses with the plastic wrap and instead charge for mattress bags, if you decide to use any. The other moving company I used prior to them wrapped my mattress and frame in wrap.
Overall my experience was great and will for sure keep them in mind in my next move.

We unpacked more of our boxes and found some stuff mixed in together like shoes on top of clothes and other items that didn’t belong together or got a little dirty. The majority of the packing was done ok and kitchen stuff done especially well, but the other stuff could have used a little more care. Still would recommend, but watch them pack your stuff.

The GREATEST moving experience I have ever had!!! The quote was accurate, Charlie was very up to date with communication and what to expect. At the new place we ended up being locked out. While waiting on my roommate to arrive with keys, they tried every window and fire escape trying to find a way in. Getting paid by the hour you would think they were fine with waiting but instead they went above and beyond with their service. So much more professional, efficient and prepared than the company that my work had hired for my first move here. As long as I am in San Francisco i will continue to use them and recommend them to anyone I know!

Highly recommend!
Very professional: Charlie provided an honest and reasonable estimate for packing and moving. They also arrived on time.
Very efficient: Charlie and Kevin packed a whole household in record time and the following day four movers moved our household quickly.
Top Gun Irish Movers provide a great service and are also very courteous. The rates are comparable for a professional service. You could find cheaper movers, but the cheaper movers would also cut corners and would definitely not be as reliable.
We hope not to move again, soon, but would choose Top Gun Irish Movers!

Never have I thought that I would be such a promoter for a moving company, but I have used Charlie and his team at Top Gun twice now, and I can’t stop talking them up to all my friends and family. I’m pretty sure anyone in earshot of me is sick of hearing about these guys because I just can’t say enough. If they ever decide to produce an infomercial, I hope I would get to be the spokesperson. (Charlie, I hope you’re reading this.)
Top Gun is fast, punctual, honest, competitively-​priced, and just all around positive in nature; no matter how badly I tried to get them on the same page with my piss-​poor attitude about moving, they always won!

I was anxiously awaiting my U-​Box from a cross-​country move, and my box arrived ahead of schedule. Hooray! Uh, wait, what do I do now? I called around, and Top Gun was recommended by a highly reputable moving company that simply couldn’t take same-​day requests. Charlie answered my phone call and was able to meet me at the U-​Haul facility later THAT VERY AFTERNOON. He and his helper met me on time, and they were efficient, good-​natured, and very professional. In short, every new transplant’s dream. They even had their own handy tool box, and helped me assemble my bed. Charlie has clearly had years of experience, I would trust them completely. I highly recommend, and I would use them again.
This move happened back in July, but I cannot forget Top Gun’s excellent service. Thank you so much!

Great expereince! We used TGI for our move out of a 1 bdrm in SF this morning — and we were thoroughly impressed. Their prices were competitive and their service was outstanding.
Before the move:
After calling a few other companies in the area, I found that these guys were the most responsive and willing to help. I called the listed number, got a hold of Charlie immediately, and he got back to me with a quote right way. As I was finalizing my plans, Charlie had great cost and time saving suggestions, and he was really patient as our moving situation evolved (we weren’t sure how many destinations we had until the last minute).
Day of the move:
Charlie and Colin showed up exactly at the start of the window he gave me. They were super friendly and accommodating — answering any request with «sure, that’s no problem». They made short work of the packing/​loading process (I’ve never seen anyone move heavy boxes that fast), ending over an hour earlier than planned. Whether it was minimizing time or optimizing storage space, it was obvious that they were doing their best to keep the cost down on the move, and it paid off bc they came in on the low side of their price quote. Charlie gave me a detailed breakdown of the cost — everything was clearly itemized — no hidden fees or surprises. The only regret I have is that it didnt occur to me to tip them until after they left (I had a temporary lapse in common sense) — and now I’m left with the guilty feeling that I paid too little for the service I got.
We will definitely be calling TGI movers for our next move, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for honest, hardworking, and friendly movers in the area. Save yourself the hassle and hire these guys!

Moving can be stressful, but Top Gun Irish Moving made it a really painless experience. A week before I needed to make a 12-​block move in San Francisco, I contacted Rogue Moving, who a friend had used, but they were already booked up. Wayne was kind enough to recommend Top Gun Irish Moving, who were able to fit me in.
These guys were fantastic! When I spoke to them, they shared their availability, explained their services, and offered a quote. On the day of the move, the two guys showed up when they said they would, were ridiculously fast (good craic too!), and the total bill was what I expected. Beyond that, they brought a storage box for my hanging clothes, put my mattress in a protective bag, and had a special place to store my artwork. Not to mention, they had a great Unilocal deal that saved me $ 50!
I was really pleased with Top Gun Irish Moving and will absolutely call them the next time I move.

I needed some priceless collectables moved from a store going out of business in the Union Square area. I needed a reliable and trustworthy crew to handle this. Top Gun & Irish Moving & Storage was highly recommended by another moving company I trusted who were completely booked on the date that I needed. I was hesitant to use a company I wasn’t familiar with. I called a few highly rated movers but didn’t feel completely comfortable. I read Top Gun’s Unilocal reviews and decided to give them a call.
From my initial contact with them, until the very end when everything was safely delivered, Charlie, the co-​owner of Top Gun, was extremely professional and accommodating.
I initially thought I would only need to move a few items. One was particularly large and heavy but the rest were smaller and more manageable. On the day of the move, several other items unexpectedly became available to move.
Charlie & the Top Gun crew sprung into action and got it done! They skillfully wrapped each item, moved them out of the store, through the crowded streets of San Francisco and carefully loaded in their truck. When they showed up at the destination, they unloaded and unwrapped everything which were in perfect condition!
They are a small owner-​operated company, a strong, tireless, efficient and cohesive team that works extremely well together.
I highly recommend Top Gun Irish Moving & Storage. They will definitely be my first choice for my future needs.
