The Lost Sock

Wow, more like the Lost Buck. I just fed $ 2 in quarters into the machines only for them to beep and give me «error»… WTF? Worse than losing $ 2 is the total inconvenience of not being able to do my laundry on a Sunday night.
There’s NO number to call, either. It’s no wonder people vandalize the shit out of this place.

Just moved to the area and did my laundry there for the first time. Clothes kept getting stuck between metal pieces in the dryer. One shirt got ripped when I tried to pull it out. This was dryer #24. I asked the dry cleaners next door if they were the owners. They said no but I have my suspicions. Who is the owner and what is their phone number??? I’m not sure what to do now. It’s kind of a pain to walk 4 or 5 more blocks to get to a decent laundromat.

The machines are always broken here. And worst of all the machines that are broken often are filled with water that the people who owns the shop don’ care about. The whole place is a mess.
I mean last time I was here and had planned to use one of the machines. Open one after another and the machine was filled with water. Not clear soapy water, but grayish brown water that had been sitting there for a few days from the smell. The floors are always dirty and the dryers, even on high is not even warm.

This place is FILTHY by the weekends. By the looks of it, someone drops by once a week or so to empty out the change and maybe sweep up.
I’ll never go back. Naaaaasty place to try and clean anything.

This coin op is right across the street. It always has achiens open, a working chnage machine, safeway accross the street, a liqour store, and a dry cleaners right next door.

So I lost a load of our whites. No idea who to call about it. The machines are pretty expensive, for moderately working sometimes. meh.

I have been here twice. The first time I asked another patron if the change machine took fives. She didn’t know. I tried, and got 20 quarters, did my laundry. The only hitch was that the dryer costs 25c for an unknown time. I paid 75c and my clothes were suitably dry after a half hour.
Today I took my basket down the hill, stuck my five in the change machine, and nothing happened. I pounded on the change machine a bit. Nada. I looked around for a phone number. Nada. The only signs they have are «Last Load by 9:30PM» and «Not responsible …» Huh. I tried feeding it a one, and the change machine just sat there dead.
Nobody around to help, nobody I could call, I took my clothes back out of the machine, and with a tear in my eye hefted up my burden and walked back up the hill with a pile of dirty laundry. I guess I may have to drive to a better place to lose socks.
