Do they have actual people with some manner of culinary training cooking back there or is it just some random kid on work-study? I ask because the teriyaki bowl prep is about as amateurish as it gets — bed of white rice, sliced plain chicken and sliced steamed veggies on top … then a ridiculous amount of heavy/sweet/cloying teriyaki sauce dumped on top that tastes like it came from a cheap Costco bottle. Blooch. Cali rolls are about comparable to Safeway. Basic burgers, hot dogs and fries. The kids working the counter are nice and competent at least, but it’s an off-putting place to eat — door constantly open in the winter making the metal tables cold, whatever bleach concotion they spray on them hangs about for a good long while and stinks the joint up too. tl;dr go to Tokyo Express at the mall

Came here because it was so close to school and class. I just had subway the other day and this was right next door so I figured why not. The chicken teriyaki was truly a nasty mess. The sauce they use here tastes horrible and is nothing like other restaurants out there. The chicken is bland and thin, tastes kinda processed too. Not chicken chunks one that is use to. The saving grace for this was the california rolls. They aren’t anything to brag about but it certainly tasted decent when compared to the chicken teriyaki. I also got the korean spicy noodles. This thing was pretty decent and could pass for instant noodle quality. They used that same nasty chicken though. Other than that, the noodles and the california roll help save this place from a one star rating. Also, the tables were dirty, the place was a mess, and unless I’m really desperate, there are so many better choices on campus.

Short to No Line at all during Lunch time on campus. 5 – 6 $ Combo meal deals that are good on the student budget. Food came out nicely presented(Burger Combo w Fries & Soda). Added bonus of the Giving App(Buy XXX get a free XX). Time to get food was short ~5 minutes.

I usually go here to buy some burgers or hot dogs! I haven’t once bought the sushi or noodles. But from everything I’ve read you get what you pay for. However! I just love hot dogs and burgers in general! Especially if its cheap!

I went here once as a freshman at state. Worst decision ever. The sushi is not good at all and it’s not completely inexpensive either! For the price, the quality sucks. Also, you know a sushi place is not a place for sushi when they also sell hot dog combos and hamburger combos!

Worse pad thai I’ve every had. Noodles were near raw. Also tried to charge me full price for a special.

This is pretty much thw worst place to eat on campus ! You never know when it’s open and when it is, you dont want to go anyways. The sushi, doesn’t look trustworthy, more like it’s been out and touched all day.

Salads, burittos, and bagels… In order for this student to function well in her SF State studies, she needs some diversity in her food! When my tastebuds have been beaten numb from the same’ol cafeteria food everyday, I make the trek across campus to Sushigo for something different and refreshing. Now, I have yet to try anything from their menu.(From the looks of past reviews, I may not want to) However, there’s more to this restaurant than overpriced combo lunches and pre-packed sushi rolls. They have been offering a do-it-your-self, salad-bar-style, whatever-you-may-call-it type deal. Like the salad & mexican joint in CC, you pick from a variety of foods to put onto your plate, weigh it, and pay 4.99 per pound. A little pricier than the other places but you get to choose from a good amount of ethnic foods such as oriental salad, seaweed salad, thai curry, pad see ew, tofu, and of course, sushi. From time to time they have cheese filled ravioli in marina sauce~yummo! This place gets even better. During the lunch rush, there are RARELY any lines here. At these times, I enjoy contemplating what I want to put on my plate without feeling rushed. The cashier is nice about it too, he doesn’t stare awkwardly when I pick at the oriental salad just for the orange bits. There are also no worries about finding a place to sit with chairs and tables available in and out of the store. The downfall is the self service bar isn’t available all day. only lunchtime. My lunch total usually averages 5 dollars and so very filling. If you’re skeptical about giving this place a try, check out their self serve. At least you can see(&smell?) what your food is going to look like if you plan on having lunch here.

This is on the campus of SF state. Everything here is pretty decently priced but that is definitely reflected in the quality of the food. I usually come here when I’m craving something asian… or what can pass as asian, and I am stuck on campus for over 6 hours and must eat something, but the sushi here is not much better than the sushi packs from safeway and chicken here probably came from a frozen bag or something… and they just reheat it and add some sauce. Their spicy tuna roll special for $ 3.95 is cool. again you get what you pay for…

I’ve always wondered about this place and finally decided to try it. I had the Combo #1 which is chicken teriaki over rice with 6 pieces of CA roll. Literally. That’s it. Fine, whatever. But the chicken was pretty lame. Like frozen slices that come in a bag or maybe they went next door and got some from Subway. Actually, I think Subway’s is better. The CA roll was fine — but how can you mess that up?

Came here today and ordered the Spicy Korean Ramen which came with two slices of chicken, seaweed, broccoli and peas & carrots. Portion was reasonable, considering the meal only cost $ 4.95. The ramen noodles were not good though… very starchy and extremely soft(I guess I’m used to firm and chewy noodles? these seemed like egg noodles). The broth seemed extremely salty and there were only two small slices of chicken! I’m glad I used a coupon here though and got a dollar off! Cool, new addition on campus though(they have those Hawaiian guava drinks and other drinks you’d find at an Asian market and also Asian candy and cookies). But I wish the quality and taste of the food was better. May consider going back to try the udon but would prefer to go somewhere else off campus.

My friend introduced me to this place this semester and my initial thought was: YES! FINALLY some Japanese food and noodles on campus, so this is a on-campus restaurant at SF State. You’ll have to go through a few buildings on Font Street to find it. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m a fan of this place but I have yet to try their other options. I got the Chicken Teriyaki + 6 Cali Roll special for $ 5.50 which is super cheap considering it’s a lot more expensive off campus. But it was kinda a disappointment because in the box that I got, half of it was rice, not including the sushi roll and there were only like five half inch by 2 inch pieces of white meat chicken… I suppose it was still filling but there was definitely something up with that chicken. My friend got the udon and he seemed to like it, but it was really small for udon noodle. I’m willing to give this place a try again before making my final judgments as to keep going to it or avoiding it like the Asia Express on campus. The good thing I saw on their menus were the rolls are very cheap but limited – not all the varieties you would see at a regular sushi restaurant. However, given the choices there was Dragon Roll, Alaska Roll and a few more others that I forgot, most were under $ 7.
