Dr. Levine takes a holistic and caring approach by first taking the time to sit down with each patient and listen to their concerns and needs. He will discuss with you your condition, ask specific questions to better understand your chiropractic needs, and then determine if he can help you in the elimination of your condition. This is followed up with a comprehensive examination.

After a thorough consultation an examination including orthopedic tests, muscles tests, neurologic evaluation as well as palpation of the spine and postural analysis will be performed. These tests are necessary to determine the cause of the symptoms. Getting to the root cause of the problem will help the patient heal properly as well as quickly.

Most insurance plans are accepted. Our staff will call your insurance carrier to verify coverage on your first visit. We also accept workers compensation and auto accident coverage. We have very affordable cash payment plans if you do not have coverage.

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Levine is certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. He has a private practice San Francisco and also volunteers several hours a week as a Chiropractor for the Haight Ashbury Free Medical Clinic.

After completing his undergraduate courses at the University of Hartford in Connecticut, Dr. Levine relocated to San Francisco to attend Life Chiropractic College and graduated Magna Cum Laude. His residency in Chiropractic was performed at Life Chiropractic Clinic, San Leandro, CA., The Delray Clinic, Del Rey, Fl.; and Universal Health Center, San Francisco, CA.

Dr. Levine is actively involved with sports and specializes in the treatment and prevention of sports injuries, as well as repetitive stress injuries. He is a member of the ACA and has taken numerous courses in the areas of whiplash and the science of injury repair.

Recommended by a friend. My first time to go to a chiro and Dr Levine explained everything to me. My friend calls it «the crack house». It’s so good you will keep coming back for more. And they cracked all my bones — which feels amazing. I felt like a new person when I left. And I slept like a baby that evening. Can’t wait for my next appointment.

I started coming here about 7 months ago since I was not getting any better after almost two years with my former chiropractor. After just a few visits with fewer adjustments and no massage therapy, he greatly reduced the pain which turned out to be a shorter right leg (which was also noted by the other Dr.) He stretched my right hip muscles and fitting me with a shoe insert and now almost pain free and no bending down groans.

I have been to see Dr. Levine several times when I was in serious need of some relief from major pain, and every time I leave his office I not only feel better physically, but mentally. He is not only a great doctor, but just such a kind person that you feel at ease with right away.
The first time I went to see him it was after throwing my back out (jumping on a trampoline, but that’s besides the point). I was in pain literally every time I took a breath. Dr. Levine was able to pin-​point right away where my back was out and adjusted me with instructions to follow up with another visit in a few days– but he also told me what to expect as far as how I would feel in the coming hours and days as my body readjusted. He was spot on in describing how that process would go and that I would still feel some discomfort for a day or two, then it should disappear, which is exactly what happened.
I went back today after having had a 3 day-​long headache that nothing I did was helping, not chugging water and no amount of Advil would touch it. Again, he immediately predicted that it was connected to my neck before even touching me. He was right again, and said I should feel relief within an hour, if not immediately, of the adjustment. By the time I reached the front desk my headache was gone after days.
Not only is he a wonderful doctor who does his job so well, he has always been able to see me last minute, within a day or even the same day of calling to ask for an appointment. I always know I can get in to see him when I need to, which brings great peace of mind, but I also know that when I leave I will feel better, which is priceless.
I can’t recommend him more highly if you are looking for a chiropractor in the city. You’ll be happy you went.

Dr. Levine was able to fix a problem in my back that had been nagging me for years. I had gone to other chiropractors and to massage therapists on and off for several years to try fix this problem, and they weren’t able to identify what was wrong.
But Dr. Levine identified exactly what was out of whack with my body on the first visit (I actually had a rib out of place in my back), and after just a few treatments, he was able to get my back feeling the best it has in years.
I appreciate that Dr. Levine took the time to explain what he is doing when he was adjusting my spine. Also, I appreciate that he focused on fixing my back in and didn’t try to use spinal adjustments to treat other medical conditions. Some chiropractors I have gone to were convinced that spinal adjustments could solve any and all health problems, but Dr. Levine treated my back and solved the problem that chiropractic work is supposed to solve.
He’s has a great office with friendly staff, and I highly recommend him.

Help on the way!
Last Fall, after a few weeks of traveling and sleeping on floors and couches, I was in horrible shape, severe pain in my hips and low-​back. I had to take massive amounts of ibuprofen or naproxin to get through my day!
I saw Dr. Stuart Levine for a short series of treatments and he quickly helped my pain subside, and my body return to a healthier state. He accurately assessed and treated my body, and i felt big relief after the very first treatment.
He has a super friendly easy going demeanor, and awesome hands. An excellent and compassionate practitioner of the chiropractic art and science, I strongly encourage my friends and clients in the San Francisco/​Bay Area to visit Dr. Levine for excellent health care. Regarding Chiropractic care (my opinion):
I have been well served by chiropractic care in my lifetime. It has been the most effective treatment for me when I have had pain in my body, particularly in my back and neck. I do find the benefits are farther reaching, I simply feel great with regular chiropractic care (at least every couple months as maintenance), and when I have had pain — it really helps like nothing else.
Combined with regular massage therapy, I just get used to feeling good!

Dr Levine is great! He has a good approach to chiropractic medicine and although the sound of your bones cracking is weird to me, he makes me feel at ease when he does it. I can tell he’s very knowledgeable and experienced, which is important in finding any type of doctor. Highly recommended!

I never review doctors on Unilocal but thought I owed it to Dr. Levine. I came to him a long time ago with recurring back issues, after a few appointments and a lot of questions he helped me realize that the issue was my bed. I got a new one and no more problems. He takes the time to listen, figure out your lifestyle and what could be causing the problem and how to manage it at home. While getting an adjustment once in a while is OK, I certainly don’t see it as a regular thing. Now I see him on occasion when I need an adjustment. He still always asks about posture, whether I stretch, exercise, and always suggests good practices to keep my back relaxed and in-​tune.

Dr. Levine has been a real gift for both me and my wife. He helped her tremendously through back problems during pregnancy. He is friendly, and as mentioned in other reviews he prepares your body with heat and massage prior to cracking, he asks diagnostic questions and develops an understanding of what your body needs. With adjustments and prescribed exercises, he fixed my wifes longterm neckpain, for which she had sought help from multiple chirpractors over several years.
Going every 4 to 6 weeks has kept my back and neck in decent shape, despite an unhealthy lifestyle of travel and deskjob.

He’s quick, thorough, friendly and compassionate. He also listens and remembers everything I tell him. (This sounds like it should be a given, but it’s not.) He also talks to me and explains what he is doing without making me feel like he is trying to talk to a five year old.

I was extremely nervous about attending a chiropractor but my shoulder became so painful that I decided to go ahead and try Dr. Levine. I’ve got to tell you, the reviews about this guy are on point. Not only was he completely calming and understanding of my fears, he spent tons of time educating me on exactly what was happening in my body.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Levine for a couple of months now and am a very happy customer. I’ve regularly seen a chiropractor for the past 11 years, and when I moved and got new insurance and had to find a new chiropractor I was very nervous. There are a lot of different styles and flavors out there, and I wanted something I was used to. No drop tables for me. I found Dr. Levine via my insurance list of accepted practices and was delighted to see his great review on Unilocal.
When I first started seeing him I was training for a half marathon and was having a lot of knee and foot pain as a result. Dr Levine not only took care of my normal back pain but spent a lot of time and effort adjust my knees and feet to get me to a place where I could compete. It definitely helped — I’m really not sure I would have made it through my training without Dr. Levine. Thanks!

First off, let me just say that I was never a believer in chiropractic care.
Then I threw my back out for the umpteenth time and had to miss out on some really fun socializing so I finally scared up the courage to visit Dr. Fishman (aka Ricky) at Chiromedica. He helped me through the initial (excruciating) pain and showed me ways I could strengthen my weakling spine in order to avoid spending the rest of my life stooped over. Over the past few years, he’s also helped me deal with such fun things like a repetitive stress injury (thanks crazy job that requires me to slave away in non-​ergonomic hell). He also plays a mean bass and always makes for interesting conversation!
Understanding, flexible and friendly (as in, «I’m just now leaving the office and my appointment is in 5 minutes…»), Chiromedica is highly recommended.

Look no further — this is the best Chiro in SF!!! Dr. Levine is fantastic. He eliminated my reoccurring issues with my lower back and neck. I have been under his car for a couple of years. I go every 6 weeks or so for general up keep and to combat the effects of business travel. Dr. Levine always delivers amazing care. He is honest and not like some Chiros that make you come in when you don’t really need it. I highly recommend Dr. Levine.

Back and neck pain suck. Dr. Levine makes it better. I’ve had the misfortune of 3 back and neck injuries including whiplash twice. I’ve been seeing chiropractors on and off for the past 23 years and Dr. Levine is by far the best. He doesn’t just go in for the crack. He prepares my back and neck with heat and some light massage before adjusting. He’s also easy to talk to and has a calm and soothing personality.
His office and staff are also very friendly.

Dr. Levine is awesome — I got into a serious car accident last February, with severe whiplash. I wasn’t able to sleep or sit comfortably. Dr. Levine adjusted me 3x/​week, and promised that I would be much better after 2 – 3 months. I felt completely better after 3 months — it was amazing! I was a little skeptical of chiropractors before going to Dr. Levine, but he’s changed my mind completely about that.
