I was referred to Dr. Barbara Rinkoff by a friend and I will forever be indebted to both of them! I began seeing Barbara for adjustments during my pregnancy and she helped me become comfortable as my body was stretching to accommodate a growing baby. I wouldn’t have been able to sleep at night during my pregnancy if it weren’t for Barbara’s amazing adjustments!
I continue to see her every now and then for a ‘tune up’. After seeing how much my adjustments helped, my husband decided to try it out. He’s now a loyal patient of Barbara’s and we often plan out visits to coincide. Their office is accommodating of our busy work schedule and everyone is very friendly. We can’t recommend her highly enough!

I have been seeing Dr. Rinkoff for many years. After I fell face forward on a sidewalk, my back and shoulder seized up. It was difficult to turn my head. Dr. Rinkoff has been able to alleviate my pain and restore my range of motion. I have continued to see her when my back and shoulder begin to tighten up. Besides being a great doctor, she is a warm and caring person.

Simply amazing! Dr. Rinkoff is friendly and thorough. She not only took care of the injury that brought me in but also helped with chronic pain I thought I’d have my whole life. The ladies at the front desk are always friendly and helpful when trying to get an appointment. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to feel their best.

I’m traveling in SF and needed to see a chiropractor badly. I called to make an appointment, spoke with Dr. R herself (I lucked out) they had a cancellation and I was lying on her table in an hour. Dr. R is thorough and strong (not a wimpy adjustment), just what I needed because traveling (and studying) can really take it out of you. My neck and pelvis were all tweaked which is likely why I’ve been fighting off a headache.

Barbara is great. Great! My wife and I have been seeing her for chiropractic work since, oh jeez, maybe 10 years? She’s been very helpful in maintaining my forward motion – I go as a kind of maintenance therapy – and has substantially helped my wife, who has more chronic pain/​joint issues. She knows her stuff, but also, is very friendly and warm, which (as I know as a psychotherapist) only facilitates the healing. So beyond the physical help, it’s always a pleasure to see her, joke around, and share updates on our various lives. Totally recommended!

Dr. Rinkoff is great! I have been seeing her for almost two years now for sciatica and I have had great results. Sure other docs may have given me the same results, but I can’t imagine seeing anyone with a better bedside manner or approach to care than Dr. Rinkoff. You can talk to her about anything and her bedside manner is the best. I selected her because I lived in the neighborhood and I SURE am glad she is there. If I moved, I’d coming back even if the parking was blocks away. Thanks for all you do Barbara!

I’ve been to see six chiropractors over 10 years (all of whom have very different adjustment styles) and Barbara is the best! She’s very attentive to sensitive areas and after seeing her for almost two years by back has done much better. I will most likely will be in discomfort for most of my life because I was born with an extra disk but she makes it much more manageable and I haven’t worked with a doctor that has done just that.
Her bedside manner is one to boot as well and I always look forward to visiting her office; not just because my back will feel better but also because she’s funny and friendly. It doesn’t hurt that she’s a big Giants fan as well :)

Barbara is fantastic! I have hip and lower back issues and she can adjust me like none other! Most chiropractors I’ve been to have been unable to get results, but I can always feel results after a session with Barbara. She’s also a lovely person to talk to!

After we moved to SF, I had several appointments with various chiropractors in the city, and I thought I would never find one as good as my doctor back home in KS. They were all HORRIBLE and I began to think I was just spoiled. In a last ditch effort to find a doctor who would be caring as well as effective, I searched the insurance provider’s online directory for chirodocs with the first name Barbara. Figured at least we’d have the name connection to start with. I am SO glad I did this!
I had my first appointment yesterday. Right away, she made me feel comfortable and welcome. She asked about me– my interests, hobbies, and life. She seemed interested in knowing me as a person and not just a patient. We continued to talk as she skillfully adjusted my neck and hip, which had been hurting me for WEEKS. I was worried that her skills wouldn’t be up to her personal warmth, but I was so wrong! My neck and shoulder pain has strongly diminished, and I was able to sleep without pain for the first time in weeks.
I never thought I’d say this… but I found a chiropractor in the city that I love and can honestly recommend to others. YAY!

How do you select a health care professional?
For me it’s a large part whoever my insurance will pay for and generally that results in a number of very competent, very skillful practitioners. So really it comes down to who has a personality that meshes well with your own.
After receiving the list of chiropractors from my insurance company I began the search. Thank you Unilocal for letting me read the experiences of others, I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Rinkoff.
To say that she is a skillful and intuitive practitioner is an understatement. She was able to quickly divine from the vague description of my problem exactly where I was suffering and what treatment made the most sense.
Beyond that though, she is a warm, friendly and engaging human being who makes you feel at home and very comfortable.
I hesitated writing this review, not because it’s not true, but because I am afraid that too many people will find her and her schedule will become crowded. I don’t think that’s the case though. I think once you’re her patient she will always find a way to treat you and I hope that she achieves every success in her practice, because she deserves it.

Barbara Rinkoff is fantastic!
She is extremely knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. Her rates are reasonable and, most importantly, she can be trusted to adjust you correctly.
I have issues with the bones in my feet being out of alignment, which is an uncommon reason to see a chiropractor. Barbara took the time to research whether she thought she could help me.
After determining a few methods that she thought would help, I started getting periodic adjustments which eliminated the pain.

Chiropractic is a bunch of baloney.
No, this is what people say. Look at the «Talk» on Unilocal,go to Wikipedia, ask the mainstream medicine establishment – they expound disdainfully on the quackery and chicanery of chiropractors as if they were black magic practitioners.
Okay, but answer me just this one question, AMA.:
Why, then, does it *fucking* *work?*
Background: I’ve had a pinched nerve in my neck for over a year – numbness down my left side. Yes, it sucks – it took me months until I could lift a frying pan again!
Initially I was in a lot of pain – my doc gave me lots of drugs (codeine, flexiril, trozadone, salsalate, and lots of ibuprofen), which didn’t help (although the codeine made me stupid and pass out, so I guess while unconscious I was, technically, feeling no pain), and I saw a physical therapist, who was useless, and went to a «neck/​shoulder pain workshop,» also useless (except for the handout on «sexual positions for sufferers of neck pain,» which I have yet to use – ladies, still single!).
Point being, mainstream medicine (MSM) wasn’t helping. At all.
So, we come to my five-​star rating for Barbara. What can I say? Someone at work recommended her, she was on my insurance, I figured «well, I’m already fucked up and miserable, what do I have to lose?»
In short, over the past month, she’s just about fixed me. I’m lifting semi-​heavy weights again, boxing again, numbness is almost gone – in one month, Barbara has done more for me than MSM did in a *fucking* *year.*
I used to be disdainful of these 5-​star reviews of health practitioners; but you know, when your body has become your enemy, a good doctor is, plain and simple, your saviour.
And Barbara is a great one – friendly, accommodating, communicative, brisk but not brusque, and obviously really fucking good at what she does. You will have no regrets, I promise.

Barbara is my go to gal for lower back pain.
Years ago she correctly diagnosed the pain in my lower back as my sacroiliac joint. I had been to a few other chiros before her and none were able to tell me my problem or relieve the pain the way she does.
She is also one of the nicest people you will meet. Kind, warm and not in a rush.
Highly recommend!
