After 37 years in business, I am still extremely passionate about the food my company serves as well as what your event is going to look like. I create new recipes all the time,. I then give the recipes to my chef & his team to make them stand out in today’s industry. I want your food to be creative & flourish with flavor. I miss working in the kitchen at times, but am having such a good time working with all of my clients, creating fabulous menu’s & events.

I love being able to help fund-​raisers with donations of food and service. Or at least give them a great price so they can make some money for their cause.

I went to an awards ceremony last night at San Francisco City Hall, followed by a reception catered by St. John Event Production. I was really excited when I read that they were the caterer because I’ve enjoyed their wonderful food over several years. Experiencing Michelle’s wonderful food once again was a great treat after a few years’ absence. This lady really knows how to please her audiences with her food offerings! It’s was once again unforgettable and I look forward to the next big event. Count me among her fans!

I recently was invited to a attend an event that was catered by St. John. What a kick in the pants! It was innovative and delicious. Who would have thought to have a tiki/​hawaiian-​styled bar inside the house, complete with grass umbrella! In January! The theme, amazing food and outstanding service provided by Michelle and her team of party/​fun/​food experts made this a memorable start to the new year.

Horrible company and service. The wait staff drank our alcohol and sat around in our pantry during the party. The food was lousy (store bought items, passed off as freshly made). Then, to top it off, they charged our corporate card without my authorization! Pure fraud. Do not use these folks. You’ll be sorry.

I was thrilled to be included in a New Year’s Luau Brunch that was catered by St. John Event Productions. I had an idea that it would be really good but I was blown away with how fantastic it really was. Michelle outdid herself from the first impression party layout and décor (the drink station was amazing!) to the plentiful food and tremendous staff. Some of my favorites were the Coconut Shrimp, Samosas, Pulled Pork, Pineapple and Sausage skewers. My all time favorite was the Dungeness crab fondue. Seriously, it was the stuff that dreams are made of. I was tempted to tell other guests it was not good just so I could pull up a chair and eat it with a spoon but I held back — only because there was plenty of other amazing (truly beautiful and tasty) options. Michelle even had a buffet — and activities — for the kiddos! The drinks were nap inducing and perfectly crafted. My 2016 resolution is for every Sunday brunch of 2016 to be this marvelous but that would mean I would stalking Michelle and Schuyler and there are laws against that.

We hired St. John Event Production (BBQ Catering Service) for my daughter’s 1st birthday party. Loved working with Michelle as she made the process so easy! We had it catered for 100 adults/​25 kids because being Filipino, we had to have a few Filipino dishes (3 to be exact). Plus, of course, a roasted pig (Lechon) because what’s a 1st birthday party without one! Duh! :)
Needless to say we had enough food to feed a small army! Michelle gives you so much food it’s as if my entire party of 130−140ppl didn’t just go through the buffet line before me! I should also say, my sister, hired Michelle and her team for her party years back and same thing, Michelle gives you so much more food than for the amount of people you tell her. She also threw in a couple of appetizers, which was so generous of her. Honestly the Filipino dishes I had weren’t the star of the buffet line! Everyone raved about the BBQ!
Michelle was also kind enough to leave one of her staff there to make sure all the trays were always full. As the host, I was so thankful to have her there so I didn’t have to worry about refilling the trays… huge help!
I would highly recommend going through St. John Event Production. Michelle is great to work with and gives you a ton of food! Well worth it!

Professional, Communicative, Delicious! Michelle and her son, Schuyler, have catered our organization’s holiday party for the last two years, and we have been very happy with the booking process, menu selection, onsite setup and production, staffing, and of course, the delicious food. Michelle’s holiday menu with turkey and all the trimmings couldn’t be better executed. Perfect turkey both years. The buffet setup featured various heights, everything was sequenced well to ensure good flow of the queue, and again, the food was delicious. I also appreciate how approachable Michelle is on the phone and in person. Her son was also hardworking and friendly, and he helped make sure the operation was humming smoothly in the background. Thanks again, Michelle and Schuyler!

Michelle and Schuyler are a great team to work with! I hired them to do a big BBQ for our staff appreciation party, and they definitely went above and beyond. Sometimes it was a little hard to get into contact with them, but when I did, all of my questions were answered and problems were solved. Choosing a menu was easy, and Michelle coordinated the rentals for my tables, chairs, china, silverware, linens, and even my BBQ themed burlap runners that I requested! This team was flexible for meetings, and arrived early onsite the day of. Michelle even held some leftover wine cases for me!
I would not hesitate to do business with St. John’s again!

You know when you’re invited to a wedding and get to eat chicken (served one way), beef (served another way), and fish (of some kind)?
Yeah, we didn’t want that. We also didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg to get the same boring food served at our September wedding.
After more tastings at catering companies than we care to admit, my wife and I started looking at BBQ as a food option. We stumbled upon Bay BBQ & Luaus (a division of St. John) and boy are we glad we found them!
During our tasting, my wife and I looked at each other and had that unspoken moment of «Uh huh». As in, «Uh huh, this is it!» We decided to go with options from the Luau menu.
Michelle was super friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. You can tell that she puts a lot of thought and love into the food she prepares. She and her staff were also very attentive during the event.
Even after the wedding, our guests kept bringing up how much they enjoyed the food! Some favorites were the Hawaiian Chicken Wings, Coconut Shrimp, and Spam Musubi (served on a delicious cracker).

St John’s Catering is top notch! We had a luau for my son’s first birthday and everything went smoothly thanks to MICHELLE and her team. Michelle went above and beyond to make my luau a success. The food was excellent, the servers were on point and the bartender knew how to make every drink which was requested of her.
I had bought a lot of decorations and although it was not St. John’s duty to put up all the decorations, Michelle’s crew helped out with no hesitation. They also helped clean up after the party, which made it so stress free for me and my husband.
If you want someone who is articulate, responds to your calls, emails and texts with a very reasonable time and has top notch staff, hire St. John’s for your future event! I highly recommend them!

I should have left a review right after my daughter’s baby luau in May, but in October I’m just now getting around to it.
We had her baby luau for about 70 people in San Leandro, and they were able to accommodate despite a large luau in Mountain View later that day. We didn’t need full service, just awesome luau-​style food. Once we got past a communication SNAFU, the entire arrangement process was easy. I was forwarded a menu with a LOT of choices, and since I had initially reached out before a price change took place they quoted me with the previous prices per person (even despite the communication SNAFU).
When the day of my daughter’s luau arrived, our food was delivered with all of the necessary service items (appropriately themed for the party), and her son set up the buffet tables for us. Extra food went into the kitchen, and EVERYTHING was superb. The Kailua pork was outstanding, I’m told the Hawaiian macaroni salad was awesome (I’m personally not a fan of any mayo-​based salads but she offered to make it with lighter mayo – guests loved it), and the fruit kabobs were beautiful. Hawaiian rolls were provided, as were compostable plates and utensils. The prices were absolutely reasonable, considering how much trouble it would have been to try to do this ourselves. I think for 60 – 70 people it was around $ 1500? Had I been diligent and left this stellar review in May I would’ve been able to provide more details like this. However, there was plenty of leftovers and the morning after the party, they picked everything up. We were even told not to wash anything – they would handle it all!

Michelle and Schuyler were just terrific. We booked them for our wedding this summer, and although they had received an offer to do a much bigger corporate event on the same weekend before they received our deposit, they let us know that they’d still rather do our wedding, and they took our deposit instead. From the moment we met them for our tasting, we knew we were in good hands, and the Hawaiian style food selections were absolutely amazing. The tasting itself was such a great and personal experience!
Michelle kept in constant contact with us throughout the entire process, and she tried to save us money wherever she could with our table and chair rentals, providing us with advice to get the most out of the money we spent.
Come the day of our wedding, Michelle, Schuyler, and the rest of the staff worked tirelessly to keep all of the tables filled, and many of our guests complimented the food. We are so happy to have met such great people who are so passionate about what they do. They provide so much more than just catering.
Thank you so much for making our wedding such a great, tasty experience! We’ll never forget you and all that you did for us!

The entire process of budgeting, planning, food selection and production was about as smooth as it gets. If you are looking for a quality caterer, look no further. I highly recommend this company. Since December, my fiancé and I have been working with Michelle and Schuyler for our upcoming July wedding. I’m not a picky eater but picky when it comes to quality, but they provided the best tastings compared to several other caterers we met with. Michelle is super organized, never failed to remind me of deadlines, and felt like a second mom throughout the process.
Then I was faced with a bride’s worst nightmare — our venue had double booked and failed to coordinate between the two parties (sigh). Yes, we had to deal with this drama two months before our wedding. Michelle dove in and began helping with our venue research in SF and the East Bay. We ended up working things out with the venue, but unfortunately they threw in some last minute preferred catering requirements that were unavoidable.
I’m really sad to not work with Michelle for our wedding, but I would recommend St. John Events to any couple looking for a reliable and high-​quality caterer. We hope to work with them again for future events!

St. John catering does a monthly gig at a Company in downtown SF.
Every time they cater the event it is professional, on time, the food is excellent, their staff is ready to accommodate any situation and I just can’t say enough good things about St. Johns catering. One time the Company hired someone else for their event and it was a total flop. Cold food, rude servers, sloppy attire, it was awful. It’s great the Company resumed their monthly gig with St. John’s catering and I hope they keep them for a long time.

At first, the thought of a wedding celebration for your family and friends is exciting. A party, the celebration and one of the best days of your life. Then, you start realizing what you’ve just committed to, and start freaking out. When I started looking into caterers in the Bay Area, I first thought I was going to have to cancel the wedding, as we were trying to do a simple, low-​key event without breaking the bank. After turning to Unilocal,I found Michelle and St. John Event Production, and the wedding was saved.
Michelle and Schuyler put me at ease immediately. From the tasting, to the menu planning to the wedding itself, everything was great. I hired Michelle because she had an opinion and a point-​of-​view. I had a few things in mind of what I wanted, but instead of leaving me to my own devices, she helped refine and perfect my general idea. We started with a theme of Hawaiian food and before we knew it — we had a great buffet that everyone loved.
Michelle is down-​to-​earth, hard-​working and just plain nice. That’s not to mention her prices and how reasonable they are. I wasn’t the largest client and had a prime date in October, but couldn’t have asked for a better answer to my prayers. I can’t recommend Michelle enough. If you’re looking for a great caterer that is willing to do what it takes to make your event turn out wonderful (and within your budget) you won’t find anyone better than Michelle.

Planning a lunch for 1100 PEOPLE is no easy task! Especially with a turn around of only 2 hours. From day 1 Michelle answered all my questions and concerns, assured me that everything would go off without a hitch and it did. The food was excellent, the display was lovely, the staff was great and friendly and everyone in attendance had only good things to say. I will go going to Michelle & Schuyler for every event here on out. I wish it was possible to give more than 5 stars.

I’ve worked with Michelle multiple times. SHE’S AMAZING!
She actually catered the first major event I ever hosted with over 300 people in attendance. At the time, this event was the most important event I’d ever planned so I was really nervous about choosing a quality caterer. It was so helpful to work with someone who knew EVERYTHING that I didn’t about catering/​head counts/​budgets. Needless to say, it was a total hit! Her staff were always on point and were very easy to work with. Michelle really takes care of her clients. She also always brings extra food to events to make sure that your guests/​staff will never go hungry!
People were ooohh-​ing and aahh-​ing over the displays and the dishes the entire night. I had no idea the space I was in could look so awesome! Michelle and her team brought in extra decorations and were careful to match exactly what I was looking for. At this point, I trust her decorative taste more than mine. I can give her a simple idea and she runs with it.
I’ve hosted a few other events here and there with different caterers but trust her with my most important ones. She’s even catered a special event for our VP and it was perfect.
Michelle gets 5 stars for service, quality of food, helpfulness, decorations, timeliness, amazingness, and anything else you would look for in a caterer.

Our wedding was on September 13th — and we had a ball! Michelle, Schuyler, and staff — thank you all for making our day so much fun! As I noted in my previous review, the wedding site was challenging — outdoors, on uneven terrain, lots of trees to navigate… and no electricity!
When I rounded the corner with my Dad as we approached the altar, I was surrounded by friends and family, and then blown away by how elegant Michelle and team had transformed the location! Beautiful linens, silverware, glassware, and she had taken the time and trouble to arrange the tables (heavy picnic tables and benches) in the best way possible for all of us to meet and mingle. She had a lovely woman tending our bar the whole day, and Michelle I didn’t get her name but please let her know that she is fabulous! She made all of us feel welcome and her professionalism shined.
The food! Guess what Michelle makes sure the bride and groom do? Eat! We wanted our guests served first, but Michelle made sure that Kevin and I had a place to sit and enjoy the meal. Needless to say, her food is incredible. Lobster tail, short ribs, mashed potatoes (she also provided us with plenty of vegetarian options — and the fruit and cheese tray she put together was beautiful!)
Michelle and her team worked tirelessly, and I mean tirelessly, to throw us a memorable wedding party. Our friends and family have continued to rave about it, and they are amazed that such an elegant affair could be pulled off at a picnic site!
There aren’t enough words… thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
