I had a glass shower door installed. The end result was a good quality and the price was very competitive. The service was terrible. If you have time to stay on top of them and call every day for updates on your order and installation, then it’s worth the money you will save compared to some other places. If you expect them to have their orders organized and easily accessible when you call for information, then you will be disappointed and frustrated.
The installers came out to measure the same day I called for an estimate, and I thought this was a good sign. They said the glass would be ordered that day and in stock within a week. When I called a week later for an update, they couldn’t find my paperwork. They called back once they found it and asked if I wanted to order the glass, which I thought was already on order. Another week later, I called again to check on the order. The glass was in but had a scratch. They were returning it and getting a new piece.
Once that piece came in, I called to check on installation. I had to wait for a return call. When they called back, they gave me a date and time window without actually checking whether this would work for me. Fortunately, it did, and the installers showed up on time and worked cleanly and efficiently.
Even though I had to constantly follow up to get my order moving, they managed to called me promptly to collect the balance owed for the job. Imagine that.
Two months after the door was installed, they called me out of the blue to say that my «samples were in,» and asking when I could come to look at them. What samples? Another poor soul out there is waiting for their samples and are lost in the chaos of this place’s office.

In and out, cut me a custom piece of glass for those glass shutter things people have in their bathrooms. Was $ 15 and a nice place to sit. Couldn’t have been happier.

SF Silver Glass & Mirror, Inc. is a neighborhood establishment which I walked by numerous times. When it came time to need a custom mirror, they were my go to shop. I told Rosa, the owner, I wanted to install a mirror, as a surprise for my son and daughter-​in-​law. My son and his wife were going out of town for a few days, and Rosa was most accommodating to my limited time frame. The day they left, she instantly had an employee out to measure and when complicating factors came to light, that same day sent two more men out to access them. They had a mirror ready for installation the next day. An unexpected glitch occurred the day of installation, which they rectified immediately. They were efficient with final installation and cleaned up beautifully. The men were professional and extremely pleasant the entire time. My family came home and were pleasantly surprised how fabulous the room looked, with this beautiful addition of a mirror to their home.

It is as good as it gets! I needed a frameless shower glass for my new remodeled bathroom, found this place on Unilocal,called for the estimate at lunch time, they came out for measurements the same afternoon. Price was reasonable, so we wend ahead with the job. They informed me that glass will take about 5 business days to produce. Yesterday morning I’ve got a call that they are ready to install, Gabriel came out the same afternoon and voila!!! I have my shower glass beautifully installed within a week! Last time I had the same job done for the upstairs bathroom couple of years ago, it took 3 weeks. Gabriel and Rosa are great!

We hired SF Silver Glass & Mirror to install frameless shower glass for us. The installation actually looks really good, so I want to throw that out there. If you are just looking for someone who does good work and don’t care about service or reliability at all, then you still should consider them.
If you care about service and reliability though, maybe not so much. It took them two trips to measure the space: first before the quote, then after the work was awarded.
The glass came late, but they didn’t tell us until after we were expecting it. Then they scheduled a day to install it, and I stayed home from work, and then when I called because they hadn’t shown up they told me sorry, they didn’t get the glass, they’ll have to install it later.
They did show up the 2^nd time. I had actually hired them to also realign and seal the glass in a second shower as well. They installed the first shower fine, but then when trying to realign the 2^nd shower, they actually made it worse. I told Rosa by email to make sure it was documented and she ignored it. A few days later I got a hold of her by phone and she said she would send someone out. That time, they fixed it, but they forgot the strike for the bottom of the door and said they would have to come back another time.
They said they would be back at 8:30am today, this Friday. At 9am I spoke to someone in the office who said no one was around and he will call me when someone arrives. I have now had to stay home all or part of some day from work 6 times and I’m not even sure they will show up to finally finish this job.

Recently I asked SF Silver Glass to replace the cracked stain glass of the entry door of our medical office building on Sutter Street in SF. They measured and installed the glass perfectly and it is now very beautiful. I cannot be happier. Recommend this shop for your glass needs.

The worse customer service ever!
The guy was supposed to show up at 4:00 but did not bother to call and say he would be late. At 4:30 I called and spoke to Rosa and instead of her being apologetic she says «it’s not my fault».
Then the guy calls and says that he had stopped by around 5:00 but then left because he couldn’t find parking. He then says he has no money for a parking garage. I told him it’s SF and this is not an uncommon situation. He started yelling at me and then said he’ll try again at 6:00.
Then Alma (yet another worker) calls me at 5:30 and says that the guy left for the day. I said he’s going to come at 6:00. She insists that he left and wasn’t coming to my place. Her response then was that she’s sorry and that they’ve had so many problems with him. Well, if they’ve had so many problems, then fire the guy!
What poor service. They wasted three hours of our day! I’m willing to bet that they’ll be out of business soon!

If you don’t have an emergency, don’t bother with these folks. The workmanship is terrible and if you question their work Rosa gets all bent out of shape and starts Unilocaling at you like a chihuahua. I’ve now been there twice too many. Each time she looks me up and down and throws a price out at me. She never consults a price list or explains why the price is what it is. I think the walk-​in business is what keeps these folks going. On both occasions the work was poorly completed in one hour and each time I was there the other walk ins were getting the same turn around time. They have people in the back who seem to do nothing except to wait in for walk ins. On both occasions I went in to get a replacement glass for frames. NEVER again. This time around my poster was smeared all over with dirt and finger prints. I had to bring it home, disassemble it, clean it as best as I could and reassemble it again. Not worth the headache or the hassle and each time I could have done a bit more research and get a much better price and customer service.

I work on apartment vacancies and sometimes need the glass in a window or a bathroom mirror replaced the same day. Rosa has one of the only glass shops in the city who usually keeps workers in the shop all day (most shops send everyone out on calls all day and then do the walk in jobs at the end of the day) and can give same day service.
Granted, this is a fairly specific task that I have them do, but the are usually able to meet my time frames

This place is terrible. I stopped in the shop two weeks ago to get a quote on some glass I needed for a coffee table, but whoever it is who gives estimates wasn’t there, so they asked me to leave my information and promised to get back to me by the end of the day. So, I filled out the paperwork and attached the paper I had written the measurements on… but they didn’t call me back that day… or the next… or the next.
In fact, I didn’t end up speaking with them until I called them a week later asking if they had been able to get the quote. Once again, I was told that the individual in charge of estimates wasn’t available, but that they would find my paperwork and call me «right back.» After a few hours passed without hearing from them, I called them yet again and spoke with someone else who said that the woman in charge «was in a meeting» (an excuse I have seen others Unilocal about on here as well). Another hour went by and the same guy called me back and said he would help me if I gave him my measurement information. I tried to explain to him that I had already filled out the paperwork and given them the only piece of paper that I had with the measurements written down and that I was at work and unable to measure the table right then, but he didn’t seem to understand that. He kept telling me that «in order to prevent further delay,» I should tell him again. I ended up getting so frustrated that I just told him I would have to call him back later.
Finally, near the end of the business day, someone in charge (yet still unable to find my paperwork), called me back, apologized and said that he would really like it if I gave him another chance to do the work for me. I told him the approximate size of glass I would need and asked him to give me a rough estimate of the cost. After about fifteen minutes of him confusing me with different numbers and excuses, he quoted me a price of $ 100 and said that I would need to pay for half of it up front so he could «get the materials.» Now, I don’t know much about glass cutting, but it seems to me that a shop specializing in it should have the one basic material on hand that is necessary for their business to function, so I thought that was a bit sketchy. Again, he implored me to call him back and give him the business, so I told him I would get back to him and searched around for another glass shop… which is how I found Paige Glass Company in the Mission. Not only did the employee there know what he was talking about, he quoted me a price that was HALF (literally…it was $ 51) what SF Silver Glass & Mirror was going to charge me. After looking at the Unilocal reviews, I realized that I was not the only one who had a terrible experience with SF Silver, so I went with Paige instead (who are MUCH higher rated anyway). In short, if you are looking for a glass company, go to Paige. I honestly don’t know how this place survives with their inflated prices and terrible customer service.

I’ve been working with them for years and they have consistently provided us with great service and lightning fast turn around when I stress how important it is.

What a poorly run operation. I used them only because they were near me, and I am new to the city. I have had glass cut for countless tabletops, mirrors, etc. in the past. As an Interior Designer, it’s something I’ve always done. The price, to me, was SHOCKINGLY high for such a small piece ($ 136 for a 2 foot square, non-​tempered)
After ROSA went on and on and ON because I was paying with American Express, and AMEX takes forever to pay them apparently… But she didn’t hesitate to run the card through, and charge me the entire amount. She wrote on my receipt, and on hers, that the piece would be ready in 5 to 6 working days. Two weeks went by and I called to see about my glass. After they took my information, and promised a call back «right away» they never did! I called again the next day and they said the number I gave them didn’t work. The number is on both mine and their copies, but oh well. They again said they would call me right back. After three hours, someone else called back and said it would be ready NEXT FRIDAY! (It’s Tuesday now) Come on folks, this ain’t my first time at the rodeo.
All I can say is LOOK ELSEWHERE if you don’t want the brush off.

This is a neighborhood business. The owner Rosa was really pleasant when my husband I first met her and walked in. She told me she owned the place with her husband prior. This was the first time I ordered something from them. I went ahead and ordered glass for our kitchen backsplash. They had a lot of choices and we ended up picking a pretty expensive selection. The next time we ordered a simple vanity mirror for our bathroom.
Why this business got a 2-​star rating is the following:
1. The first order of the backsplash took forever. Everytime I called, I was given a different excuse, the paint color didn’t come out right, we broke one of the panels, the paint guy who is not local got it wrong, etc. I was pretty understanding since I assumed maybe our project was harder than usual. But I caught her in a lie as well. I called a few times in a project that ended up lasting almost a year and they told me Rosa was in the hospital and she was really sick. So I felt bad to call and ask her about my glass. But then the following day I decided to drop by the shop just to see if I could view a sample of starphire glass and Rosa was there. I asked her if she felt better and she had forgotten that they had told me she was desperately sick in an emergency room hospital.
2. The installation was sloppy. The glass pieces delivered were not that straight cut. The backsplash cracked in several places. But then Rosa and Silverglass was good in that they came back several times (like 6 different times) to try and fix things. Finally after almost a year, our backsplash was completed, not perfect but decent enough and I was tired.
3. So for the 2^nd order, we did something super simple which was just a glass mirror, no frame, nothing fancy for our bathroom. Channel mounted. She talked up Starphire glass but then after 6 weeks didn’t deliver it. So my husband finally got fed up and said forget the starphire just get us a mirror for the bathroom. They finally showed up with a plain mirror for the bathroom and got it installed but only after almost 2 months and ended up charging us over $ 900 which now that I went with California Shower and Glass for the downstairs bathroom, I realize we got robbed.
So anyway, proceed with caution.

Seriously great service. We have hired these guys for mirrors twice. The first time it was before the studio was open and today it was to fix a broken mirror, change both the large front window panels, cut a mirror and put the salvaged pieces on additional walls of the studio… They did all of this in ONE DAY! yes, you heard me right… I called them yesterday morning at 9 am, today at 4 pm we had two additional mirrors, one brand new huge mirror along the whole back wall of the gym, two new windows and it was all done by friendly and professional folks.
And all this under 2 grand!!!
I have had nothing but good experiences with these guys. A family owned business that has twice come through for my business. We will be using them again for any other glass needs.

After North Beach Window and Sash failed to return my calls, I called SF Silver Glass & Mirror despite their mediocre Unilocal reviews and I was pleasantly surprised. They took my order over the phone and installed my mirror within 4 days. Their installer Harry was very knowledgeable and was able to quickly remove a light fixture that was in the way and put it back perfectly. They were very courteous and were extra careful with my mirror. They don’t get five stars because the people answering the phone did not speak great english and I was worried about them getting my measurements right.

Another note: If you look at my reviews, you can tell I’m not a person who is going to nit-​pick companies. In fact, I like to use Unilocal to praise companies.
But I have to let my experience with this bad-​excuse-​for-​a-​business out. I admit that I read a poor review on this place on Unilocal but I decided that might be a one-​time thing and knew I had to use them simply because they are on the block I live on. I mean the convenience factor was huge since I had to have them come by to measure a cabinet for a bent piece of glass. When I first went in, the woman was WONDERFUL and oh-​so-​accomodating. I knew that I was going to have a great experience. She told me this could be done in the next couple weeks (I had also given them the broken piece of glass so that they could see how much to curve it). A couple weeks later I went in, and the same woman started yelling at me that it wasn’t ready and that they are ‘really busy’ and they ‘haven’t done it yet’. All I could do was raise my voice back and say ‘Hey, I am only in here asking for it because you told me it was going to be ready. Do not yell at me because I thought you would have it.‘
Then weeks go by of her screening my calls (after giving my name to the guy who answered, he would come back and say that she was ‘in a meeting’ — yeah right.) After MANY more conversations where she assured me it would get made, I would call just to find out it wasn’t done. She would tell me they had it but that it hadn’t been cut yet. The next time I would call she would say it hadn’t been started at all. Another time it was ready but the place they needed to get it from was closed for a few days so I would have to wait another few days for it (we had an appointment the next day for them to bring it over to install). I mean just straight lying to me each and every time.
The last time we spoke (2 months after I originally went in there), she then told me — and I could not make this up if I tried — that it would be 6 months before anything could be made. Not only am I going to give this a bad Unilocal review… I’m also going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. AVOID this place!!! It should be shut down.

Won’t work with them again. Although they seem knowledgeable, their customer service was lacking. I came to them looking for advice on how to face cabinet doors with mirrors. I should mention these are custom cabinets I am building myself. They recommended a specific brand of mirror mastic (glue) which they would have to special order, and «J» molding which they didn’t carry in the size I needed. I ordered the mastic and some edge sealer on Friday and was told it would arrive by Monday. Monday came and went with no phone call. Tuesday I called them and was told my order didn’t arrive yet and I should wait for a call. Wednesday and Thursday, no call. Finally Friday I called again. Now the order had arrived but they said «they» (I assume whoever they order from) didn’t have any edge sealer. At this point I was deciding that I should just get my materials somewhere else. When I asked the specific name of the mastic they ordered for me, she told me she couldn’t remember but it was the best.
I’m now a week behind in my project and had to spend all day making calls and running around town to get the materials I need. In my efforts I also found that they were charging me $ 18 dollars for a product nearly everyone else sells for $ 8. I don’t know if we had a sever communication problem or this was just bad customer service, but I will not be going back.

I had a beveled mirror put on a closet door. The price was fair, the mirror looks great, however the customer service was terrible. The final price was much greater than the initial quote, and it took them two weeks rather than 1 day as originally promised. And all that time they had my actual closet door (they do the work in their own studio)! They claimed they first made a mistake with the bevel sizing, but I had to call multiple times to get my door back (with mirror on it). I’ll give them 2.5 starts.
