Reboot Float Spa

After months of research and YouTubing, I finally made an appointment. The lady at the front was very nice, taking us to the back showing us how the session will go. From the moment I stepped into the pod I felt relaxed although it did take some time to decide the best position for me to completely let go. Overall I am going to go back here and experience the benefits of floating. Oh and another big thing was the cleanliness of the room the pod is in. Very clean!

Great float spa.
The tanks are spacious, state of the art, comfortable, immaculate. Quite spacious. Nice treatment rooms with plenty of privacy and the ability to move directly from a lovely in room shower directly into the tank. Very friendly staff at the front desk and an overall nice spa feel to the property and experience.
It was my second float and I really enjoyed it. I really enjoy the down time and both body and mind feel deeply rejuvenated after floating.

Loved this cute little float «spa.» Booking was super easy and informative. When we arrived we just got off the plane and due to a delay we went straight there. They kindly stored our luggage in the back and got us settled right away. The girl at front desk gave us a tour, instruction, and away we floated. The float room itself was super clean, well stocked, and had a private shower.
Best float place I’ve been to so far. Friendly staff, clean atmosphere, reasonable prices.

This is easily in the top 5 best things I’ve ever done. I came in for some back/​joint issues and the epsom salt made my spine feel perfectly aligned. The floating and the sensory deprivation forced me to give up trying to be so in control of my body and mind. I left feeling like I had just been born, or even just died and came back to life. Except it wasn’t scary, it was just an odd sense of calm that I hadn’t felt in a long time.
Anyway this is a Unilocal review not a diary entry or so I will just say Reboot float spa has just as many mental benefits as physical.
Also, I hope I floated in the same pod Steph floats in.

This is definitely an experience.
You will need to be okay with being alone with your thoughts in the dark and in silence for sixty minutes. Literally… in complete darkness and the silence. It is something I’ve never really experienced. While you have the option to turn the light on during your float, they recommend you don’t as it doesn’t give you the full sensory deprivation that they want you to achieve during this time.
The facility is clean, the staff is friendly and the room with your pod is super private (including a private shower.) I will definitely be back.

Beautiful spot to float in a sensory deprivation tank void of sound and light (unless you want light and music). Just bring yourself. They provide all amenities. Clean. Nice staff. Go!!!

I have floated twice already at Reboot Float Spa and absolutely loved both experiences. I didn’t want to write a review after one float as it can be a novelty experience so I wanted to try it again before leaving a review. I went back again a couple of days ago and I felt as good as the first time! The float itself is very calming and the pain from my body just disappears (I have chronic lower back pain)! After the float session, my mind is clearer, my body is relaxed, and the rest of the day just seems perfect. It really puts me in the right mindset… ahhhhh…

I’ve been anxious to try this out after watching the ESPN feature with Steph and Harrison of our world champion Dubs! Bought me and the wife first float gift certificates for Christmas and booked a Saturday pm float. Great experience throughout as we had the standard session of having soothing music the first 10 minutes and last 5 minutes of the float. Highly recommended since Reboot’s float pods are state of the art.

It’s stuffy inside the tanks and you’ll be salty beyond belief – so plan for messy. Relaxing though

Brooke took care of me the second I walked into this amazing place of serenity in a Star Trek-​like atmosphere.
I had «floated» before, but the quality of the pods and overall atmosphere was far superior to the other float places I have tried.
Stepping into one of these softly lit pods in the perfectly warmed salt water is like slipping into the most cozy, comfortable place you could imagine, and from there, you are off!
I won’t try to tell you what you might experience, but I can tell you, you will be a calmer, clearer person after this experience. I intend to visit as often as possible!

A little over a month ago, my friend purchased float vouchers via Gilt. Myself, the purchaser, and another girlfriend attended. Because I experience anxiety while in tight spaces, I was nervous about attending and didn’t want her to waste the gift on me. But I mustered up the courage and participated. I’m glad I did. The experience in the pod was fabulous. One I will not soon forget. Unfortunately, it will will not be one that I plan to experience again and Reboot.
The saddest part was the end of my experience. Initially, I wasn’t going to write the review. I din’t feel that the bad service is a reflection of Reboot, but of the individual working that day. So, my friend, the purchaser wrote her review about hers and my experience. But her review was removed by Unilocal,citing «it contains secondhand information». The information isn’t secondhand because she was present for the incident. Below is the review that was removed:
«I purchased a GILT voucher and went with two girlfriends to check it out. I was a little apprehensive at first because I did not want to feel constrained or locked in. The experience was quite the opposite. I was able to adjust the closure of the pod based to my liking as well as adjust my own lighting. The room was very private (you get your own shower in a private room with your pod) which made for a relaxing experience. When I first got in I was a little tense but once I allowed my body to relax (and focused on my breathing) I reached a state of deep calm and peace.
I was excited to go to Reboot again until my friend experienced unforgivable customer service. She was finished before me and my other friend and was doing her hair. When I came out to join her one of the spa employees came over and checked on me and made sure I had a good experience. When the employee left my friend told me she had passed by her several times and did not acknowledge her or inquire about her experience. The same employee also spoke to my other friend after her float but clearly snubbed my friend who came out first. For various reasons I think this behavior is very odd and not very welcoming. As I mentioned earlier I would have patronized Reboot again but due to my friend’s experience I will take my business elsewhere. «- Leah E

The first time I floated was at Zazen SF, and it was a bad experience (my wife, too) — it looked like we were going into a morgue! And there was no orientation. This experience at Reboot is completely different. Reboot is much more professional, aesthetically pleasing, and enjoyable. Seems like they’ve thought of everything: optional music at the beginning & end of float; a mellow nice blue light inside the tank should you wish to turn it on (most people have it off); excellent sound insulation; and even a waterproof notepad while you’re taking the shower in case brilliant ideas come to you during the float.
If you’re curious about floating, definitely come to Reboot.

This is a very cool experience!
The space is great and feels kind of like a Virgin America plane with the purple lights and the white everything. The girl who greeted and helped us was super sweet. The pods are very clean and futuristic looking.
Once inside the pod, I felt like I was in space in zero gravity. In addition to feeling really good in the warm water, the way it holds you makes it easier to forget about your body which is hard to do with non-​floaty meditation. I definitely want to go a couple more times because I’m extremely easily distracted and really want to be able to stay in there without moving around or getting restless or, say, gently bouncing from one end of the pod to another because fun.
Four cons/​suggestions: 1) The rooms are not sound proof and you can hear the telephone ring and talking in the lobby. 2) I wish there were bathrooms in the room because I had to run down the hallway in a tiny towel to pee (yes, I did go before, but I have a small, overactive bladder) 3) More towels please, or at least two! 4) After sticking your hair in saltwater for an hour or more it would be nice to have some legitimate conditioner instead of a 2-​in-​1. No. It did smell good though!
Excited to do this again and get better at quieting my mind and body!
TIP: use the neck float-​I used the ear plugs and I still got salt in my ears :(

OPEN. That is the one thing that you have to be in order to do something like this. Can you step out of your comfort zone and do that? If you can, then this just might be for you.
I’ve always dabbled in meditation but I have the *hardest* time letting my thoughts be still. I’m sure all of you can relate to me on this. I mean really? How do I direct my thoughts to flow like a river out of my brain into a stream of nothingness? Yup, not happening.
So when an opportunity came up to be submersed in a saltwater pod, how could I say no? First off, I love water. Secondly, I love floating. Instinctively I knew that I had to try this. Thanks to a
deal ($ 45 for an hour), I jumped at the chance.
Greeted by Mike Garrett (the owner), we walked into a pristinely white modern lobby with white couches, spa water, and iPads equipped with headphones for us to listen to an introduction of what we were getting into. So helpful for all of us newbies about to get naked (yes it’s clothing optional) into our private pods.
After the short intro, Mike took us on a tour of our private rooms where we would shower first, put in some earplugs, then proceed to climb into our pods. The pods themselves look like white oblong shaped eggs. I eagerly stripped down and showered while the music played long enough for us to get in and close the latch.
We were directed to take the position that was most comfortable for us– I chose the «I surrender» pose which had both of my arms raised up next to my sides. Because of the high saltwater content, I floated quickly and easily. After a few movements, I settled nicely into my new blacked out environment and closed my eyes. I was surprised at how easily I transitioned into my floating experience. It felt warm, enveloping, and so relaxing that I fell asleep. How do I know this? Because an hour later when the music started playing again to let us know that our time was up, my eyes fluttered open. Where did the time go?
I floated to the opening of the latch (the blue lights were now turned on inside the pod) and opened it up so that I could take a shower. Immediately after I got out, the water in pod started filtering out– ready for the next pod-​user.
Once dressed, they had a changing area with blowdryers, lotion, q-​tips, and anything else you might need to be «life» ready again.
Ask me if I would do it again? My answer is of course yes. I only wish there was a location like this closer to San Jose.

First-​time floater, here, inspired by Groupon. I really enjoyed my experience. When you enter the spa it seems like a space age modern theme. Clean lines, simple décor, lots of white with trims of blue. Mike, the owner, sits up front and greets guests. He’s a handsome, friendly guy and very patient and easy-​going. He offers you to use the restroom when you first get in, which you probably should use, and a glass of strawberry water.
Then, he takes you back to the private room, tells you the run-​down and lets you be. The start-​time music starts playing while you’re in the shower, so I wish there was a way to indicate you were in the pod and not lose time on that. But then, once clean, you get in the pod, shut the door, turn off the lights and chill out.
I found it very relaxing for the first 45 minutes, then I got a bit cold and restless. The temperature supposedly starts 2 degrees warmer than body temperature then drops to body temperature. However, if you like hot water, like I do, you can ask for a hotter bath. I didn’t have any spiritual experiences, I just enjoyed soaking especially since I have some musculoskeletal issues. It reminded me of my Dead Sea experience in Israel, well, just the buoyancy did.
Afterwards, I showered up, then used the blow driers at the station to dry my hair, a bit. It’s a nice touch that they have it. The sensation I felt post-​bath was similar to receiving an hour long massage. Relaxed, a bit out-​of-​it, and more comfortable.
Would I do it again? Sure. It’s a pain to get to for me, commute-​wise, but worth going again. I’m pretty sure soaking in a big salt bath is great for your sports injuries.

My bf and I are officially float heads. We’ve sought out and tried pretty much every float spot in the immediate Bay Area. So we were delighted to find out that Reboot had recently opened– especially because they have the float pods (which we haven’t been able to find at any of the other Bay Area float spots– most places have some variation of the older float/​isolation tanks).
So what makes Reboot so awesome? For one, these state of the art float pods really set Reboot apart. Unlike the older float tanks at other float centers, these pods have a light you can control inside (especially good for those who are prone to claustrophobia /​wary of feeling disoriented) and have the ability to play music (currently, gentle/​zen music plays during the first 10 min of your float and then turns on again during the last 5 min of your float). While these sensory inputs arguably detract from the whole point of a «sensory deprivation» float, they’re a great way of easing the user’s transition into and out of the full blown session.
The space here is also the best of all the places I’ve been to. There are 4 spacious individual rooms, each with a pod, shower, changing area, and artwork. I particularly appreciated the giant showerhead and steady water pressure (not to be taken for granted, as this is hard to come by at other float spots). Aside from the float pod rooms, there’s a vanity area with an additional sink and blow dryer and a clean, simple lounge area with some canned beverages for purchase. Also unlike some of the other float centers, Reboot asks all first time visitors to watch a specially created video (by the Spirit Science folks for those youtube heads out there). Thought this was a really nice touch — as each float center is different (with a different protocol for using the tanks) and creating an engaging video is a good way to scale to a larger audience.
Only suggestion I have: q-​tips would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, awesome experience, will definitely be coming back!

The Need:
Living in an Urban area packed with stressful things such as long work hours, heavy traffic, noise, information, and mind pollution, deadlines, etc, leads one feeling battered down, broken, and feeling less than whole.
I woke up for my Sunday morning run feeling a malaise after having run two marathons in March, work pressure with a lot of work deadlines stressing me out, and just an overall state of being less than optimal. After my run, I felt utterly defeated and downcast. I heard about the opening of Reboot in SF and the Float Spa concept and decided to test it on a day where I felt I needed some physical, mental, and even spiritual healing.
First Impression:
My being needed to be rebooted. So I came here open-​minded willing to give Reboot Float Spa a try. The interior exudes the classic minimalist spa vibe that puts one in the mood for healing. Mike, the person who runs this operation, has a strict schedule that runs efficiently. We arrived 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time in order to learn about the float pods and Mike was very helpful and even provided a complimentary water and a video instructional guide that explains what the experience is like.
The Rules:
The pods are very clean looking and the rooms are tranquil and promote relaxation. Prior to getting in the pod, you must shower and clean up, wear ear goggles and vaseline any cuts to prevent burning from the salts touching the open wound. Once you’re in the pod, you can close it or keep it open and you simply float and «let go.»
The Experience:
I was amazed at how calming it was. I felt as if I was floating in space. I first focused on breathing, then focused on area of my body that were sore, then on my emotional stresses, and than on my overall being. I paid for and floated for an hour and to me, it felt like 20 minutes. While in the pod, eventually, you will be in complete darkness. At first, I felt a tad enclosed, but thru breathing felt as if the space around me was expanding infinitely allowing me to see myself, my worries, my aches, pains, etc. etc. as being miniscule when placed before the universe I imagined myself in. For 45 minutes, there was complete silence, weightlessness, and a feeling of focus that I lacked coming into it.
I felt healed, no soreness from my running, energetic, relaxed, rejuvinated and whole again. Rebooted so to speak.
I found this to be an incredible experience. If I had the choice of getting a nice massage or this, I would take this everytime.
I’m a believer and expect to add this to my routine.
Tip: Sunday evening’s a great time to come here as street parking is free and aplenty.
