Parkside Mailboxes

This place is really convenient if you need to drop off anything to the post office but can’t make their ridiculous hours. Parkside Mailboxes takes USPS Priority Mail in addition to UPS. This allows me to do all my online returns and shipments (Amazon, Poshmark, Ebay) in one convenient location. Great service, they provide a receipt. Highly recommended as a timesaver.

I used to come here a few times a week for years because it was near where I live and I have mobility problems due to a serious illness so it’s hard to get down to the post office. The woman who owns this store is usually very personable and nice. Though I dread going on days when her employees are working because they are extremely lazy and incompetent. The new male employee who works there (not sure his name) is incredibly rude and closes up between 10 to 15 minutes early so I’ve had to walk all the way back home and couldn’t ship out packages. When I went to mail a package today and needed to borrow a few strips of packaging tape to mail out a box, the guy working there said it would cost me a dollar. I had no money on me as the label was prepaid UPS and didn’t expect to need my wallet as it’s a few blocks away. For me though, it’s a long walk since I have mobility problems. He said he would not let me use the tape unless I paid the dollar. I said but I was a long time customer and sometimes the owner has let me borrow the tape since I’ve spent tons of money there that would otherwise go to the post office if I could make it down there. Even the post office lets you use their packing tape sometimes. But he was rude and snide and nasty to me. I had to limp all the way back home exhausted just to get a dollar for a strip of tape. A business that cheap can’t be doing well and the reasons why are obvious.
Then I had to call them about typing in the wrong address shipped to an ebay customer of mine but was being rushed by the same guy and trusted him that he typed the shipping address in right so I signed their form after paying. I got the owner this time and she recognized my voice as a long time customer who she was on friendly terms with until I brought up the issue that I lost $ 40 because of them shipping to the wrong address. She said coldly too bad you signed the form. Then she said she saw my negative review and I expected an apology but she refused and said she ‘talked to him’ meaning the guy who was so rude and messed up the ship address that cost me money. She was defensive of him and I’m guessing it’s because she can’t keep employees working for her except for that sexist ageist college «dude». Then I said don’t you care about me as a customer? I said I’m never going back there again. She said it didn’t matter if they lost my business. I never see anyone in there so I don’t know how they stay open. Seems very shady to me. I would not trust them.

I have used them for about a year. I wish I lived closer because everything is great about this place.
Sadly, I am looking for another place closer to work — it is a long trip just to pick up mail.

Rude arrogant. Never do business here. We opened a small business account here. They went ahead and shut it down after we paid for a forwarding service and they never forwarded our mail nor did they tell us a balance was pending. When I called back there was no apology and I was asked to be on hold for another customer that was there in person. This is appalling. You specifically told us that we could forward the mail after the mailbox was closed. Why would I pay to have an open mailbox plus a forwarding service? How does that make any sense??!

I use Parkside Mailboxes for all my packing and shipping needs, and for my business I tend to need to ship alot. It’s not always convenient to spend a long time in line at the post office waiting for service, so a quick stop is always a plus.
They makes it easy to get the best rate on shipping from all carriers and stocks a very wide range of packing materials to choose from. Also if you need another address for your business you can also rent a mailbox.
The owner is always polite and professional and knows her stuff, even if it’s something out of the ordinary like changing a delivery date she can get it done!

Parkside Mailboxes is the friendliest, most efficient, pleasant and knowledgeable mail service I have ever used in San Francisco.
This is definitely my go to mail service spot now.
It’s on Taraval immediately off of 19^th Ave so it is in an easy spot.
Plenty of parking.
The service is outstanding — way beyond UPS or FedEx — not corporate and rushed at all. And compared to USPS — ha! …may as well be comparing an angry traffic jam to a leisurely boat cruise.
There’s no reason not to used Parkside Mailboxes if it’s on your route or near your neighborhood. Or even if it’s out of your way but you have a number of items to take care of… it is a place worth coming to to complete your mission — you’ll leave smiling rather than gritting your teeth.
There are mailbox rentals available here as well in case you have a need.

I recently shipped a package from here using UPS. When it arrived at its destination, the contents were completely destroyed. I was pretty sure it happened in transit, not at Parkside Mailboxes so I contacted UPS. After jumping through dozens of hoops, UPS told me I had to file my claim with Parkside Mailboxes if I wanted to be reimbursed. I called and Amber apologized (even though it wasn’t her fault) and immediately wrote me a check. I doubt I would had received the same level of service if I had shipped through an UPS store. I will continue to harp on UPS until they reimburse Amber. It doesn’t feel right that she paid me and not UPS.

I can’t believe I didn’t notice or use this gem in my neighborhood before. The young woman who runs it is super efficient knowledgeable and makes sure you get the best rate for the mail service you use. So mad at myself for not discovering it before wasting so much time in line at Parkside post office. Next Christmas will be a breeze having to walk only 2 blocks and knowing I will get courteous and helpful service

My experience with UPS/​Fed-​ex et all is if they don’t have a place to drop it off on the first attempt, they drop it in the bushes, leave it with anyone and you have to chase them around… Parkside Postal fills that gap and the peace of mind is priceless. They send a text message for all deliveries, excepting the post office.
It’s a small business with a friendlier atmosphere than a corporate box store like UPS. They’ve got your back.
It’s a small store but I come in to get my packages, not to perform ballet. Highly recommended.

I love the service where I can call to see if I have any mail or packages. What a time-​saver!

This outfit is excellent both in terms of service and value. They offer a great mailbox service and rates, with the most sophisticated email and SMS notification system I’ve seen (much better than the UPS and mailboxes, etc. stores that charge considerably more). The 24hour access is another thing you don’t get with a lot of services.
I just don’t understand how people can foolishly complain about the prices of this full service shop compared to the limited USPS post office boxes. And the prices are so close between the two. The owner is a really thoughtful person — always professional and courteous. I’ve been using this outfit for over a year and have always been pleased with the service.

This review is for the notary service. The notary here is very friendly and very organized. I am glad I finally found a notary that is personable and professional.

I needed some documents notarized — The woman who was working was friendly and helpful. Parkside Mailboxes got the job done!

I searched Unilocal for a notary public, and this was nearest. The lady working was kind and friendly. Unfortunately the state hadn’t yet sent her next blank book, so she couldn’t notarize, but sent me across the street to the real estate office, where I did get my document signed & stamped.
She was so nice, that I came back across the street after to get the document faxed, so that my paperwork would be underway ASAP.
Their website does say to call to verify that the notary is in; I just didn’t do that because I’d already shut my computer. ;P
Will return if I need a nearby notary, & will consider getting a box here if my idea for a small business gets bigger!

Came here before looking for a P.O. Box, but fortunately they didn’t have one. The place is small, so going in when there is more than a couple people is difficult. Their prices are higher than the post office down the block and yet their hours are about the same.

Drop off for everything, UPS, USPS, FEDEX,… makes it easy for a one stop for all. I often walk my dog on taraval and just drop off my prepaid shipping items. Always get to the destination.

Their private post office box cost more than the USPS does. Used them for 1 month and closed my account. The store itself is small with walls of small boxes.
