You have to get the okra! It’s sooo good. And the wifi is pretty strong.

I came here for a late night meal. The vegetarian combo def hit the spot. Flavorful array of veggie mixes on top of a spongey injera. Portions were on the larger side so come hungry or be ready for leftovers. I am not too familiar with Ethiopian food but I would definitely say it’s the most authentic Ethiopian I’ve found in the city thus far! The service took a little long (maybe a half hour) so definitely enough time to chat with friends.
I will definitely have to come back sometime and try there coffee after reading all of the other reviews!

After doing a month long research paper on Ethiopia I couldn’t be any happier finding authentic Ethiopian food to try. Overall loved the experience. The chicken is amongst the best I have ever had. Incredible range of flavors and very enjoyable experience. Can’t wait to come back!

we only had breakfast here, it was okay, could be better. The orange juice tasted a bit weird. (it was really watered down orange juice)

I would come long distance for their coffee. Wait… I did. I flew 2,000 miles, took a crowded Muni bus, walked a few blocks just to enjoy their coffee which I heard so much about. The coffee is A-​MAZING! I don’t know good wine, but people, I know my way around coffee. This was hands down one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had. The coffee comes in a mug that looks like a beer mug, but the bigger the cup the more java for me. No complaints here.
The Ethiopian food is ok. I’ve had Ethiopian food elsewhere (Washington D.C. and Hawaii) that was much better. The other places I’ve been to had cooks who were Ethiopian. The cook here was Mexican. No judgment, but I wonder if that’s why the food didn’t taste as authentic as other Ethiopian places. I would come here just for the coffee. I’d get on another stinky Muni bus just to get to this place.
The service is just ok, but this is not the kind of place you come to for attentive service or fine dining. It’s a good place to chat, study, get a quick cheap meal and of course out of this world coffee.

This is no authentic Ethiopian Restaurant… that’s what I can say… the lamb was full of turmeric the veggie combo combination of cabbage, spinach and. … has zero flavor. if you want real Ethiopia food this is not the place. but if you want to just try Ethiopian food it might be…

Tasty, filling, delicious, just-​like-​mom-​would-​have-​made-​if-​she-​was-​Ethiopian! We shared a vegetarian combo and a couple of beers on a Friday night, and left with full bellies and change in our wallets. Unassuming atmosphere makes it great for when you are hungry but not in the mood for the crowds of weekend warriors.

I came here for a breakfast stop and wasnt impressed
I asked for no onions and cheese on my plate. I got just the opposite, no cheese and tons of onions.
The lady at the front asked me what kind of bagel I wanted 3 times. So she wasnt really paying attention.
Considering there was no one in the restaurant it wasnt great service and my order was all wrong.

First time at Oasis Café and we loved it. Walked in for dinner and was immediately hit with the incredible aromas coming from the kitchen. Had the Vegetarian Combo and Chicken Tibs. Both were awesome. Will be back often to try more from the menu!

came here was yesterday with friends and it was all of our first time trying Ethiopian food. I got the Tutumuro (don’t think I spelled that correctly). red lentils were a little spicy, yellow ones not so much, collard greens were good, salad was small and I wish they gave more. Sponginess of the bread was dank and a lemon-​y. Meal was medium heavy and definitely had an interesting taste to it. Glad to have finally tried it

This place has great food and great owners. I meet the owners years ago when they tried a dollar store next door. Then they tried their hand at just a coffee shop and more recently added food. Good call, everything is delicious as is the coffee. Check it out.

I’m so spoiled that I live down the street from this place. While it’s actually my second favorite Ethiopian spot, it’s definitely a fantastic café for great food and a relaxed atmosphere. I’ve come here many an afternoon to sit down for lunch or dinner (by myself!) or pick up some take out. My favorite is the beef tibs — can’t go wrong with that. It’s enough food for 2 – 3 people but I’m selfish and fat so… I eat it all in one sitting. Their drip coffee is also fantastic, and the staff is always kind and attentive. One of my absolute favorite spots in SF!

I can’t compare the vegetarian combo or shiro since it was very first time I having Ethiopian. I enjoyed it. it kinda like Indian food but different.

Their coffee is amazing and the staff is really great. I give it five stars mostly for those reasons.
This is my go-​to place for studying/​working in my neighborhood because it’s pretty quiet, they have plenty of tables, and have long hours.
I haven’t had their specialty Eritrean dishes yet. The rest of their food (hamburgers, salads, sandwiches, omelettes) is tasty, but nothing special.
My only complaints are that it can get hot in their on warmer days and the place looks a little run down, but neither reason will keep me from enjoying this place on a regular basis.

This is a restaurant that I fully endorse: good food, reasonable prices in a what I would refer to as traditional San Francisco charm (read: not fully-​designed thorough but functional).
I came here for dinner on a Monday evening around 6pm and it was not busy at all. The food arrived swiftly and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We ordered from the Ethiopian menu: beef tib and a vegetable combo. This was served on the traditional sourdoughy-​sponge-​like pancake along with some extra pancakes on the side.
I really enjoyed the meal: simple, tasty and — above all — unpretentious!

It is very special place, great unique Ethiopian food.

It is very quit and has free WIFI what make it perfect for working, and I all most forgot to mention that the coffee is really good!

So says me: Since visiting a few years back they’ve added Ethiopian food. After one bite of a traditional Shiro dish (peas, tomatoes, onions and Eritrean spices) knew it was a good change.
Everything melds together and makes for a delicious experience when scooping it up with traditional injera flatbread. Portions are generous which makes the $ 11 price reasonable.
Left out jalapeños but it still had a little kick. That didn’t stop my spice averse self from devouring it all.
Supposed to come with salad but they might have accidentally left that out too. That the staff was as pleasant as could be made any misstep easy to forgive.
All together it earns them plenty of stars.

Best coffee I’ve had in San Francisco. Yes, better than Philz because the people who work here aren’t poorly socialized, mustachioed assholes. They even make it Philz-​style — freshly ground beans, hand-​poured filters, ludicrous amounts of sugar and cream.
They have a type of coffee called Jet Fuel, which makes me feel like an actual jet in the sense that I want to fight Russians with Tom Cruise and shoot fire out of my asshole.
We brought a friend here who turned down the offer of coffee but ended up drinking most of ours. Fuck you, Connie. Get your own coffee. I know you’re reading this.

I come here frequently for a writing meetup every Sunday morning, and it’s just a café with average drinks, lots of table space, and decent food.
Hot Chocolate: 3.5 stars
A little watery, but they add whipped cream to make up for it.
Whoopie! Carrot Cake Cookie: 2 stars
Its baked date said it was two weeks old… Just very sweet cream cheese filling, and the cookie was crumbly in a stale way. I should’ve known better than to buy a cookie sealed in plastic.
California Salad: 4 stars
Surprisingly yummy, generous dish of lettuce, tomatoes, avocado and pieces of chicken that are so tender, I’m afraid they might be defrosted nuggets.

okayyy so im not a super big fan of injera — but obviously had it last night and it’s not bad at all! came here with my girlfriends and ordered — chicken n mushroom, lamb, beef, and veggie. they put 2 on the same platter and we shared everything. the food is sooo flavorful! i would say the beef was my favorite, and the veggie sides were sooo good. also — they have $ 4 beers — all of them! what a deal!
the café/​restaurant is supperr low key, so the menu includes various coffee, teas, breakfast items, omelettes, simple sandwiches, in addition to the ethiopian delicacies! the ladies are super friendly, but definitely dont go out of their way to impress you, but thats okay! the food (and cold beers) speaks for itself!

Very causal place but really good ethnic Ethiopian food! I highly recommend getting the Alicha Begee (Lamb) and add more meat to it. I would’ve been more happy if they had given a more generous portion of the lamb, but overall the food is fantastic!
