Was very surprised about this place. Food was very good. Their mongolian beef was fantastic.

Best chinese food I’ve had in a long time! Sesame chicken, Kung pao chicken, brocoli beef, and fried rice were all delicious. Order it on Eat24 and it was ready right on time ~20−25 minutes.

Delicious and fast Chinese food. We ordered a bunch of vegetable sides to accompany Peking duck we made at home. Everything was delicious, well seasoned and well priced for the quantity.

Ordered some lunch specials for me and my friends to be delivered. The piping hot food came in 35 minutes after we put in our order and also came with bonus egg rolls and soup. Heck yeah! My friends got the garlic eggplant and honey walnut shrimp which was good. It’s cool that they let you choose between white rice, brown rice, egg fried rice or chow mein. My only complaint is that the lemon chicken was super dry and rough because they used white meat and could have fried it too long… but it was still edible. Just wish they used dark meat instead. I should have gotten the vegetarian chicken! Their menu is pretty extensive and affordable so next time I want to get the crab rangoons!

The most passionate host ever. In addition to generous portions, the host was super welcoming, tentative, and enthusiastic. Totally made the experience. 10⁄10 would come again.

Love this place! I have been here a few times because I work right around the corner. Every time I have eaten here the food has been hot and delicious for a great price, and my favorite floaty is that the staff is always so nice! Their dim sum options are delicious! Especially the pork buns! Highly recommend if you are looking for a great Chinese food place with lots of great options and super nice staff!

Great quality meat! That’s the biggest thing with casual chinese places. It doesnt feel like I’m eating old gristle. The meat is good cuts. Bravo on that. Overall taste is excellent. Exactly what I want when grabbing Chinese of this type. Works great as takeout or dine in. I’ve tried quite a few different items at this point. I’ve enjoyed them all. Definitely one of the better chinese restaurants of this type in the city.

I came here today in this rainy day. I’m fighting a cold and I ordered the won ton soup. The lady at the front was a doll, very professional and courtesy. She said she hoped that I feel better that was very sweet of her. The soup was very tasty had the right amount of chicken, veggies and won ton it it. I ordered a small since I don’t have much of an appetite. The price is great for those on a budget. They have a take out menu and they deliver. The soup made me feel a little better on this cold rainy day in San Francisco. If your in the neighborhood do stop by. The ambiance is very intimate and quiet.

Did my internship in bay area during the summer, lucky to got a chance to go to this restaurant. This is one of the few chinese restaurants where the waitress will smile to you when you enter the place. In terms of food, there are many different choices, everything I tried is really nice and the price is quite reasonable. Yes, the teapot looks really cute/good-looking.

Kismet kept the name of this restaurant flying past me over and over again and I’m so glad it did: Their food is delicious and Kung Food’s menu, very extensive. Vegetarians, you’ll be in heaven because there are lots of delicious options and if you’re allergic or dislike MSG, they’ll cook without it. Spiciness can also be throttled back– or taken to the max– just ask. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken & Hunan grilled butter beef, the owner’s uncle’s special recipe and it is seriously sensational. I’ve kept thinking about it but the holidays have my fridge groaning with leftovers. Tender, juicy cubes of filet mignon with Worcestershire sauce, red onion & watercress, I kept wondering how they marinated it or otherwise prepared it to be so incredibly tender and flavorful. The easiest comparison is to Vietnamese shaking beef. Both entrees were very generous portions with really quality proteins. The sweet/sour chicken(normally not my thing but an 8 year-old must be respected) was truly savory with huge pieces of juicy white meat, crunchy with the requisite chunks of onion & bell pepper. We also got an order of potstickers(better than average) and a vegetarian entrée of string beans and tofu in garlic sauce that was just alright: the pieces of tofu were too large and sloppily cut and the sauce seemed«off.» I couldn’t quite put my finger on it; I tried three bites only to send it to that great compost heaven. When I ordered, I lamented I couldn’t get any hot mustard and the owner(Andy) chirped, «Oh, we make our own, it’s really hot.» And holy moly, I dunked a potsticker a little too enthusiastically into their house-made mustard and I thought it’d blow my mind it was so hot. Hey, I was warned and fans of HOT mustard, be sure to ask for some. You won’t be disappointed. Any two entrees gives you free fried rice or chow mein(beef/pork/chicken or vegetable), pick the chow mein. Friendly service, fast delivery, decent pricing and fantastic menu for the indecisive or picky, you’ll find a meal that satisfies at Kung Food.

Just ordered food for delivery from here. The general tso’s chicken had a hair in it, the Korean chicken wings were soggy and did not have any crunch or sweet flavor to them, and the pan fried noodles weren’t even edible and the chicken on them was cold and bland. This place is not good.

Kung food has been a great addition to the neighborhood. We’ve lacked a good chimes spot and now it’s here. With good customer service and solid food you can’t go wrong.

Growing up in San Gabriel Valley in LA, Chinese food is both authentic and inexpensive. San Francisco, while having great Thai and Vietnamese options, lacks good Chinese. Luckily for those living in NOPA, Kung Food has opened up and become a go-to spot for pick-up. Our favorites: Twice Cooked Pork, Mu Shu pork, Ma Po Tofu, Dry String Beans. Best things about Kung Food? 1. Owner Andy is great. Coming in and chatting with him when I pick up food always puts me in a good mood 2. Buy two take-out entrees and get the best chow mein noodles for free. It’s like getting 30% off your meal and it’s sooo good Hungover? Kung food will be your best friend

I came here after playing tourist at The Palace of Fine Arts. By far the best Chinese take-out. The food is so cheap, tastey, large portioned, and fast. I ordered the Crispy Dragon Beef($ 7.75 for lunch specials comes with soup and white rice) as reccommended by another reviewer, it was a sweet indulgent. I will return if I’m ever in the area!

I’ve been living in the area for many years and there are no good chinese places, until now. I tried this place for the first time the other week and it won’t be my last time. Loved the combination fried rice and fish dishes. So happy you are here, Kung Food. Good job on the name of the place too. I like it!

I think I wanted to like this place since the reviews are high but I have to say the standard of food is subpar for me. When you eat restaurant dishes most of the time you know if they really thought about how your food will be received by the consumer. I ordered their beef chow fun and the noodles were very stuck together so that the sauce that should evenly spread only covered the outer parts of the noodles that were exposed. The clumps of noodles that were completely white from lack of sauce unfortunately made the dish bland and lack flavor. It would have been a great dish if it was cooked more thoroughly. Second the salt and pepper pork chops– I usually love this dish although it’s super greasy. The cook did not know how to rid the smell of pork from the meat. Usually when you cook pork you hope that they were able to use garlic or ginseng or whatever other method to make sure it won’t smell or taste the distinct smell that pork meat has — or maybe the meat itself wasn’t fresh. I had a piece and everything else into waste. Pork buns — pretty good but the sauce was overly too sweet and starchy for me.

So I’ve only ever had them when I’m horribly hung over… but they’ve saved me every time. Truth. Delivery is super fast(partially because they’re like 5 blocks from me), food is super fresh, HUGE portions, great dumpling soup and KFC! I always order through Eat24 app but if you want to actually talk to a human, you can call in and if you order 2 or more orders you get a free chow mein or fried rice.

My cousin took me and my husband to Kung Food. I love Hunan cuisine and this place, I thought, is just the right place. I was not disappointed. For appetizers, we ordered Fried Calamari and Shanghai Style Dumplings. Sweet and Sour Soup and Fried Egg Rolls were complementary. I had Hunan Chicken, my husband had Mongolian Beef & my cousin had custom made non spicy stir fried all beef with egg noodles. The menu has salad selections and various healthy menu options. The sauces were very good, not too spicy. The Hunan Chicken had generous pieces of chicken breast. The food is neither salty nor was it greasy and, it is reasonably priced! We will definitely come back to try the Korean Spicy Wings, Green Onion Pancakes & Green Beans from the vegetarian selections.

So happy to have Chinese Food in the area! I went to the Grand Opening. Pretty small interior, but it was clean and nice(unlike most Chinese places). Sure, service was a little slow, but it just opened. They were really busy with take out orders because I think the neighborhood is so excited to have a Chinese spot since we are surrounded by pizza and coffee. The owner, Andy, was so nice and apologetic about the speed of food coming out. I don’t mind waiting since I was just happy they finally opened. Food was good, not greasy. We ordered the Beef and Broccoli. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. The Seafood Pan Friend Noodles were good but needed more meat and veggies. We were left with a lot of noodles at the end, which I enjoyed, but maybe the ratios could be better. All in all, I will likely be back. I’m happy I no longer have to wait an hour for Chinese delivery. I can just walk across the street!
