Meet the Business Owner
Maysie T.
Business Owner
I came to psychotherapy as a profession after a profound personal loss. Losing someone close to me thrust me unwittingly into a new existential state, one where I was more awake to my own mortality, and to the tenuous nature of life. There was a new depth of feeling to contend with. This awakening also gave me clarity and brought my values and priorities more sharply into focus. One result of this focus was embarking on the exciting and challenging path to a career in psychotherapy.
Many clients come to therapy in response to life-changing events like these, but of course there a million different reasons why people come to therapy. In the beginning of my career, this was a little scary and overwhelming, but now it’s one of my favorite aspects of this work. Everyone has a unique story to tell, and my job is to bring my full attention, curiosity, and compassion to each and every session as I witness these narratives. I consider this a privilege and an important responsibility.
