Receptionist answers, I tell her I have an existing back condition and it’s extremely important I am booked with someone that is experienced. She says, «we aren’t required to ask that information, I don’t know». I say, «Huh? You don’t have a senior staff therapist or know anything about them?» She says no. But says she has 2 available at such-​and-​such time. I should have gone with my gut and said NO WAY but I thought I’d give them a try. FIRST MISTAKE.
I show up to my appointment. It’s with someone that is brand new. Like, just got her license. I think, OK, that doesn’t mean anything, they have to practice and learn things about the body before getting the job, so I’ll give her a try. SECOND MISTAKE.
I tell her about my back condition, tell her how to massage me, what to do, what not to do, and what areas I want her to work on. She says, «I think it’s best I don’t go anywhere near your back». I say, «HUH?» I tell her, dude, I need my back massaged, that’s why I’m here, just don’t do a few things. She says OK I’ll try and I get on the table. THIRD MISTAKE.
I spent my 80 minutes with a jabbering «therapist» asking non-​stop about other salons I’ve been to, how they treat their employees, where she’s applied since getting her license, where she was trying to work etc. She was bad mouthing spas, salons, and individual therapists. It went way beyond initial pleasantries to awkward to please-​just-​shut-​up. I finally just stopped answering her questions. I’m there for relaxation — not to hear the woes of the brand-​new massage therapist and her opinions of her chosen profession.
On top of that, she spent the entire time massaging my bones. BONES. Like, my rib bones. She would touch one and say «OH! I found a good spot!» and then would stand there and push on it. Finally I tell her, please stop massaging my rib bones. She says «OK!» moves to another spot for a minute then next thing I know SHE WAS PUSHING AND RUBBING ANOTHER RIB BONE. I’m like, honey, stop massaging my ribs. Then she moved to my feet — I’m like YAY! But this chick started massaging my toe knuckles. Not the arch, not the calf, but my honest to god toe knuckles. Have you ever had your toe knuckles massaged? It does NOT feel anywhere near good. She never touched or went anywhere near the areas I told her I wanted her to work on, and she never touched my lower back. The entire massage was this way. She also used no cream or oil.
When she was «done» I’m like, get me out of here, I’m NOT paying for this. I get dressed and go to the front. I was mad but more then that, I was really disappointed, I knew I wouldn’t get another change for a massage for a few months, I really needed a proper one, and I just completely wasted my time along with 3 PTO hours from work. They present me with a bill, I say I’m not paying, that was the WORST massage of my life. Long story short, apparently they knew that therapist was terrible and wanted to fire her, so they asked me to fill out a salon report (which I did) and asked me to still pay for my services that day with a complimentary replacement massage for providing the report, giving them another try, and not writing this review. I say OK. I pay, I leave. I even got a call from the manager later that day apologizing for my experience and assuring me that my massage would be top notch when I came back to use my replacement massage.
I have now tried 3 times to call and book an appointment, but they have NO RECORD of this incident at all and THEY HAVE NO RECORD OF MY COMPLIMENTARY REPLACEMENT MASSAGE. I have asked a manager call me back 3 times to discuss this, and have never gotten a call back. Apparently not only is that therapist no longer working there, the manager that dealt with the issue isn’t there anymore either and there is no record in the computer at all of any of this. Therefor I guess it didn’t happen???
This place is ALL negative:
1. Receptionists don’t know anything about the CVs of their therapists. They don’t care.
2. Therapists are brand new and have no idea what they are doing.
3. They booked me with someone they KNEW was terrible despite me saying I HAVE A BACK CONDITION. One wrong move and that therapist could have put me in the hospital and they booked me with her anyway.
4. At the end of the ordeal the receptionist asked me to ADD GRATUITY TO THE DAMN BILL. I’m like, HUH? I just spent 45 minutes talking to you and the manager writing a report about the worst massage I’ve ever gotten and I’m supposed to TIP???
4. Does not honor customer promises and will not honor the offer of the replacement massage.
5. Have never gotten a call from a manager despite leaving 3 messages.
Thus the end of my patience and this review. Stay far far away.

So far I had two massages at this place. My experience is really mixed. The first massage therapist is really awesome (by the way, she is almost always fully booked)! I just had my 2^nd massage (with another therapist), and she was absolutely horrible. Her nails keep scratching my neck, and you can tell that she is just doing it half-​heartedly. I hope that somehow they can do something about the quality control of all the therapists. I feel like it was a big waste of my $$$ and my time for my 2^nd massage (my neck still hurts right now). Also the recommended gratuity is a little bit on the higher end side (just my personal opinion), which can make each massage very costly.

This time around it kinda really sucked. i thought it would be good because we went on a Sunday but the masseuse was not that good. He did not rub my back or shoulders enough. He asked if I only wanted that part of my body rubbed but I said no. The whole body. He was able to rub my feet really well and my neck towards the end but I really wanted the full body massage. I did not feel like he was rubbing my back hard enough. He talked alot which didn’t bother me, but I expected him to be a little better on my back area. Probably won’t be back. Maybe onl a weekday but this was a bad experience.

I live nearby so when this place opened I was excited to try out. So far I’ve had one massage and two facials done there. Both facials were performed by Louise and the 2-​star review was based on her performance and tardiness. Massage was good and rooms were clean.
My most recent facial appointment was not a decent experience. I called for a same appointment but they only had a 3pm slot available. I wasn’t sure if I would make it on time so instead of taking the appointment, I kept it open and told them I would give it a try. So I got there 5 minutes after 3 and the esthetician Louise was available but suggested I wait until 5pm for have a full one hour facial. She had a booking at 4pm so she needed to be on time for that. I agreed. So I wondered around the plaza for nearly 2 hours and checked in again around 445pm. Guess what, she didn’t finish her previous appointment and came get me until 5:15pm. She knew I waited 2 hours for the facial and apologized for the delay. I told her that hopeed she didn’t have a booking at 6. She said she did but she would perform a full hour facial on me and wouldn’t cut it short. She lied. My facial didn’t start until 520pm and by the time she told me to leave the room, it was barely 6pm. So I took her recommendation and waited 2 + hours for a full facial which ended up being less than 40 minutes. In addition to her tardiness, she didn’t do a good job on the treatment either. I felt rushed through the whole process, and she got some kind of paste on my hair and neck and took forever to get it off. Didn’t have much extraction done either. I told the front desk girl that after 2 hours wait and my facial was still cut short and was poorly performed. She apologized and told me they had another esthetician which I should try out next time. Girl I don’t know if I would be back for facial anymore.

Got a couple Groupon deal to try out since they are convenient to us and they’re a full service spa to boost. We decided to sign up for the monthly deal after a great experience with Sheina and nice facilities. We also tried another masseuse, but she was terrible. We also booked a facial appt for our next visit after they sold us on it.
Unfortunately, the first facial appt wasn’t meant to be, while we’re on our way to the spa, they left a message on our home phone to cancel because the therapist wasn’t available. By this time we have had enough with the shenanigans and decided to cancel. In order to cancel, you’ll have to come in and jump through a few hoops, but we got it done before the next billing date, so we thought. We just discovered that they have been charging us for the past 2 months since our cancelation. I want so badly to have a well run spa near by, but too bad. We’ll continued our weekly drive down to the peninsula for our massages.

At the end manager of Massageluxe, took care of my dispute and accommodate me both with the refund and the massage for my wife. She is customer service oriented, and probably the only right person to talk to, about any possible issues.

I had an average 90 minute massage for my first experience. Facilities are nice and clean. Now that I have wanted to cancel my membership — no answer from the front desk and no returns of my phone calls. They may be overwhelmed, but customer service is appalling. If the massage services were awesome, it would offset, but that hasn’t been my experience.

My girlfriend and I bought a Groupon for this place yesterday and booked an appointment for the afternoon the very next day.
We specifically asked for both of us to have female masseuses, but the manager told us one of them was running late and they only had males left. I did not mind and decided to let my girlfriend have a female since she was more comfortable with that.
I was very satisfied with my masseuse Jason and I am glad to have met him. He was very professional and asked me about my troubled areas. I told him my problems that have accumulated from frequent weight lifting and it helped a lot that he was knowledgable of the exercises that I perform. Most people who do not lift weights probably won’t know what a deadlift is, but Jason knew exactly what muscles it affected and helped me relieve months of built up tension. He made sure I was comfortable with the pressure throughout the massage and focused on the specific areas I requested. Best of all, he asked me to stay an extra 5 minutes to throughly finish my massage, but it was actually more like 10 minutes! My girlfriend finished much earlier than me and was wondering why I took so long haha.
Overall, I would highly recommend Jason. Most masseuses would end your massage on the dot and couldn’t wait for it to be over, but I felt that Jason genuinely wanted to make me feel better to the best of his ability.

I tried both the 60 min and 90 min swedish massages for the promotional prices. The first time I had Maria and she was such a wonderful masseuse! I walked out feeling like jelly! She addressed all my tension areas and gave me advice on how to avoid tension in my shoulder area. Too bad she isn’t there anymore, she was very soft but gave just enough pressure in all the right places. The second time I had David, I have to admit I was reserved at first for having a male masseuse but I am glad I did! David made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. He focused on my problem areas very well! I was amazed on how many knots he found in my body! Massage Luxe is very professional and relaxing. So glad such a relaxing spot opened 2 min from my house.

Great place so far! I’m in my 3^rd month of membership and I’m loving it! I usually see Manuel, who used to be a physical therapist. His experience with physical therapy has really helped, as I have TMJ, and he knows how to help treat it. I’ve had a lot of progress from regular massage with him, and physical therapy. The only reason I gave 4 stars is, the last time I went, I was scheduled with a woman and at my appointment time she was nowhere to be found. That was irritating, but the manager made sure I was generously compensated when I rescheduled.

I’ve been a member here since shortly after they opened. The facility is very nice, a real asset to this location, parking is easy, and the tables are heated — yay!
I’ve tried several massage therapists and, like most people, have favorites. Many of the therapists are newly licensed so if you are recovering from an injury or need massage for more than relaxation purposes you might want to ask for a more experienced therapist.
The only negatives are these: the music is sometimes iffy. I realize that this sort of thing is totally subjective but I think there is quite a lot of good «spa» music to be found. Some of the songs actually distract from the experience and are pretty awful.
One time a new girl was at the desk and she scheduled me with Manuel for a trigger point massage. What I didn’t know was that that was an «upgrade» so I when I checked out I was pretty sad to discover that it used up my credits for the entire month — something I usually spread out. I don’t think any upgrades should be offered (we did this over the phone) without disclosing the additional charges. I assumed it was the same as deep tissue.
The water massage bed thing is great if you enjoy the sensation of riding on top of a speeding freight train a la Polar Express — it’s loud!
The «suggested» tips are guilt-​inducing and pretty high — 25%? That can make a massage pretty pricey, just be aware.

Living in the bay area for years, I have tried many different massage places. At this is very first time visiting Massageluxe, I think I finally find my favorite place!
The facility is very clean and new, and parking is very convenient. I was asked to filled in my information upon arrival, and then guided to get ready for my massage. My masseuse was nice and friendly. She did her job as professionally as the ones I had before in other places.
Overall, I think this is a great experience and I will recommend this place to my friends.

Again, another great massage by Sheina. She’s the one I go to. She does a good job addressing focus areas and even gives me feedback after the session of how to take care of myself. For today, told me to drink more water, pay attention to my breathing and how I stand. I tend to have more weight on one side. She gives excellent scalp massage.
The manager, Moussia, is also great. I got confused on how the membership works and how today’s session fit into the process since I got an extra massage for this month. She was patient and nice about. She did lose her cool. Thank you, Moussia.

I’m afraid this is not a great place. The facilities themselves are new and clean, and the tables are good, but the practitioners vary from good, to not very good. The only way to really continue going there is to keep track of the names of people that you do like, and hope that they are available.
What’s truly annoying about this place, are their corporate policies. Like unscrupulous gyms, they will do what they can to keep you subscribed. I tried to cancel my membership over the phone, but they forced me to come in to fill out a form in order to stop the membership fee. In this day and age, there is simply no reason (other than to make leaving more difficult) that this transaction could not have been done over the phone.
So, while the massages are a good deal price-​wise, you’ll find better massages elsewhere, and less headaches in terms of dealing with their ridiculous policies.

Ambiance is relaxing, & peaceful!
I decided to give Massageluxe a try as parking is convenient and they offer first time clients a low $ 49 deal. Upon arrival, I was asked to fill out a form on an iPad before I was brought back to the waiting area. The massage went well, my masseuse was friendly, and the place was clean.
However, I wasn’t a fan of the hard sell on purchasing a massage package. I came in for a massage to relieve tension on my shoulders and back, however, I left stressed due to the sales pitch.

When I saw that Massageluxe offered their first time clients a low $ 49 deal, I called to make an appointment right away. Beside my appointment running late, the first massage went pretty well. The place was clean enough and the masseuse was decent. For $ 49, I thought it was pretty worth it. At checkout, I opted to sign up for their monthly subscription.
Fast forward 4 months later, my account has accumulated 4 hours of credit since I haven’t been back. When I tried to cancel my subscription, the front desk recommended that I come in for two 90-​minute massages and upgrade to a specialty massage to use up my credits as quickly as possible. So I made the appointments and specifically requested for a female masseuse.
When I walked in on the dot that night, the front desk told me that my masseuse left her previous appointment early because she was sick and they only have a male masseuse left. While I totally understand that these things happen, I would’ve appreciated it if they had given me a call when she had left her previous massage. I don’t understand why they waited until I got there to tell me.
I ended up making another appointment for the next day and upgraded to the aroma therapy massage. It was literally just the masseuse rubbing oil on my back and did nothing to help remove any tension at all. My next appointment was the same nightmare. They had to cancel my appointment again and gave me the same BS reasons. I ended up just canceling my subscription without using up my hours.
I would highly recommend checking out their intro deal, but steer far away from their monthly superscription!

Pristine environment with lovely décor. It pays to be a member here because I can pop in and use the hydro massage table for fifteen minutes every so often, and then get a massage when I really need one after I’ve already paid for it on a monthly basis. It makes this luxury feel less iself indulgent and more like self care.
I have had three different massage therapists and two of them were fantastic.
Oh and this place has free parking without a time limit!

After having 3 massages here and several hydromassages (super cool, you must try them!), I can safely say Manuel is amazing. I tried Dimitri, he was good, and a woman, not strong enough – but good technique. Manuel was probably the best masseuse i’ve ever had. He released so much of my tension and knots, very knowledgeable and highly skilled. Gave me tips as well to stretch, how to sleep etc.
The spa itself is very nice and clean. Everyone is very professional and friendly. If you want a great and affordable massage, relaxing atmosphere-​try Massageluxe My mom is a fan too! So glad to have them in the neighborhood

Let me start off by saying you get what you pay for at this place. I’ve only had a handful of facials in my lifetime, so I wasn’t expecting anything amazing.
My very first impression was that they probably don’t pay these employees very much because it was obviously reflected in the service I received. As I was walking in, the receptionist was walking out to talk to someone on the phone (I assumed it was a personal call because why else would she need to go outside to take it?!) leaving no one at the desk to greet me when I walked in. When she came back, she apologized, but still… definitely doesn’t make a good first impression.
Everything was pretty standard after that — filled out some questions, was placed in a tiny waiting room (it’s hardly a waiting room if it’s just a corner with 4 chairs) until my esthetician came to get me.
From the moment I was walked to my treatment room, I couldn’t wait for the experience to be over. She literally asked me 2 questions:
1. What brought me to MassageLuxe
2. If I had any skin concerns
I answered both hoping to get some feedback from her, but got nothing… literally nothing. I told her I had some minor breakouts, and she responded with «oh yeah, those are hormonal» and that was all I heard from her until the treatment was over. My particular esthetician was overweight, and I want to make a point to say I absolutely do not care about her weight until it ruined my entire experience.
She was breathing pretty heavily from the moment my facial started (I don’t want to have to hear someone gasping for breath when I’m trying to relax), and she kept burping as if she had just eaten before starting my treatment. Every time she reached for a product, her stomach was pulling my hair. I’m in no way trying to make this girl feel bad, but I want to paint a picture of how my experience went.
Afterwards she made a point to keep saying, «I hope I see you again!» and did a pretty poor job of recommending products especially since she didn’t mention anything about the products that were being used on my face throughout the facial (I don’t even know what facial she performed on me!).
When I got home, my boyfriend noticed there were still bits of what looked like a mud mask that was applied to my face left on my face and neck. Again, I don’t know what it was because she didn’t tell me what was being used on my face, but I would expect them to at least completely cleanse my face afterwards.
Other things that I didn’t enjoy that were of the esthetician hands were small things, like the room was too bright for me to try to relax in & the bed wasn’t heated as I was previously told. Things I would have overlooked if the experience compensated for it.
I had every intention to start a monthly membership for a facia here, but I’m so glad I didn’t go through with it. I wouldn’t spend another dime at this facility, and quite frankly, I feel like the money I have spent was a complete waste.

Great location and a wonderful alternative to Massage Envy! I love a good spa, but let’s face it, sometimes, ain’t nobody got time for that (or the money for that matter). I’ve enjoyed both massages that I’ve gotten here and so did he. The masseuses here run on time and give a great thorough massage. They also give you complimentary bottled water which is nice and the hydroluxe massage machine you can use for 15 minutes on a first come first serve basis. He loves the machine, for me, it’s a nice perk but I start to get itchy after a few minutes.
Needless to say, he and I joined their easy membership program. Massageluxe is a few months old, but is a nicely decorated little massage chain to go to for a nice relaxing, theraputic massage on your schedule. Getting appointments have been a breeze (even for V-​day weekend).
