Laszlo is an amazing, talented, teacher. Even though on his website he mentions that he teach drums for kids over 4, he took my son in when he was 3. My son always had an amazing desire and passion for music, Laszlo really made my little boy feel very confident and comfortable. Santino my son loves to go drum classes and even though he is only 4 years old now he has improved so much in his drums skills. Laszlo is very patient and really knows how to teach any age, also he is great with kids. I could not find someone better to teach my son drums.

Laszlo is a tremendously talented drummer. All you have to do is sit in his studio for a few minutes and listen to him play a song or solo to recognize his brilliance. But above his talent on the drums comes his gift for teaching. Over the twelve or so years that I have seen him, he has shown nothing but patience, humility, humor, and top-notch drumming instruction. He exposed me to rhythms and time-signatures that seemed beyond me, but he guided my through them with ease. He taught me how to play some of my favorite songs, and showed me some of his as well– further broadening my exposure to other drummers that are out there. His expertise across the drumming spectrum is apparent, and so too is his natural inclination for teaching. While the lessons were the highlight of my week, the highlight of my lessons were the brief drum solos we exchanged at the end of each hour, leaving me with a smile that I couldn’t help shake off even as I walked on home, singing the tunes I had just learned. Every lesson was productive, and each one invariably left me feeling happy and a little better at the drums.

Laszlo is a fantastic drum teacher. He’s talented and funny, patient and kind, and an all-around cool guy. I loved getting to my lesson early to listen in on the students before me, which ranged from what appeared to be a 4-year old who could totally wail on the kit to an older housewife. He told me to bring in some of my favorite songs and then incorporated them into our lessons, so I was learning music I liked, as well as popular music. It’s pretty cool to be playing along to songs you might hear on the radio just a couple months into one’s drumming career. The lessons I took were taught out of Exploring Music( ) on Clement, which is a cool music shop where you might encounter someone playing drums, piano, guitar, or any manner of exotic string instruments. Conveniently they sell the lesson books you might need. They rent out the drum room during non-lesson hours at a cheap rate. While Laszlo’s lessons are very reasonably priced, nonetheless I had to put lessons on hold for economic reasons. Once this economy(and my salary) pick back up, I’m hoping to restart lessons because they were always a highlight of my week.

Laszlo Szabo is a wonderful drum teacher. My nine-year old son has been taking lessons for nearly five years. What started as just an outlet for his«boy» energy has turned into a true passion for my son. From the beginning Laszlo made the lessons fun but they were always productive. I’m amazed at the musician my son has become and much of the credit goes to Laszlo. I’ve had several friends(including some musicians) looking for drum lessons for their children. Everyone I’ve recommended Laszlo to has been thrilled. He also helped us pick out my son’s first drum kit this year. Great guy!
