I can only underscore everything that has been written in other reviews about these guys: they are professional, responsive, expert at what they do and a pleasure to deal with. I recommend them without hesitation and they will be the first call I make with a plumbing issue. One of their guys went way above and beyond the call of duty — he drove back to my place in SF from San Carlos after hours because he was not sure he had turned the hot water back on and did not want me to be without hot water. What amazing customer service!!!

Definitely recommended. Our first floor warehouse space had flooded with storm drain backflow during heavy rains the last two years running. We hired these guys to diagnose and fix the problem. Not only was a the backflow preventer corroded and stuck open (something the plumbers the previous two visits hadn’t bothered to tell us) but our line out to the sewer was back-​pitched (uphill) running through the foundation, leading to standing water on our side and making the backflow problem worse. They replaced the backflow preventer, replumbed the exit line, and installed a new house trap under the sidewalk. This was serious work, requiring drilling a 6′ long trench through our concrete floor and down 4′ of dirt as well as opening up the sidewalk. They were super clean and professional through the job which was important because our residence shares an entrance with the warehouse. They moved all our stuff, taped plastic up with a zipper door to get in and out to prevent dust from getting everywhere. Great experience overall and very nice guys to a man.

Found them on Unilocal,wish I could say I had a positive experience.
Had them come out to clear roots from the main sewer line, which I have done several times over the years. On the positive side, the technicians were friendly and courteous.
I was unable to be present until a half hour after they arrived. Unfortunately, during this time they decided they were unable to get their snake through a bend in the line. Paul then authorized them (without my permission) to use their camera, an additional $ 250 charge, and very typical tactic.
After giving me an $ 8,000 estimate to replace the section of the line, which I refused, they finally «figured out» how to snake the line. Sadly, they did not have the right sized blade for their snake with them. Ran it through without a blade and cleared the line, but I knew that the problem would be right back since they only cleared a small section.
Foolishly paid them and sent them on their way. Followed up with Paul and he said he would send them back with the right blade. Never happened. Then followed up and he offered me a six month guarantee.
Six months later, problem is back. Called Paul several times. No answer. No response to my messages. Tried to take the high road here, very unprofessional response. Very disappointed customer.

Am connected to a shared sewage lateral line with other property owners. Due to tree roots and additional shifting of the old terracotta/​clay pipes, it was a pain to do something as every year there was a back-​up/​leakage problem and suddenly got bad — real bad.
Well, Expert Rooter & Plumbing came in, ‘pipe burst’ where appropriate, and then re routed certain spots with new PVC, the latter done because there was unknown concrete poured around some of the lower stretch many years before.
Addionally, Paul’s price was MORE than fair as he absorbed some of the unexpected extra work at minimal cost.
Plus Angelo kept all of us informed as to downtime re: showers, flushing etc., (which incidentally, was minimal).
The workers were friendly and think I speak for all of us when I state that we certainly recommend this company for both quality and price !!!

When we put our San Francisco condo up for sale, we needed help to get it into shape. I called in Expert Rooter & Plumbing, not knowing what to expect other than what I read in the reviews. I have given Expert Rooter &Plumbing five stars not only for their honest, reasonably priced, professional, timely, and kind service, but for performing spectacularly when they encountered problems (as almost always happen in any kind of home repair or maintenance). They not only found & ordered the necessary parts and installed them as quickly as is humanly possible, but they also provided personal ‘touches’ that made the situation much more pleasant. Furthermore, they did all their work cheerfully in a very tight, hot space. If we were not moving out of SF, I would absolutely use Expert Rooter &Plumbing again and will most certainly recommend them to friends.

If you are looking for a plumber to fix your home’s plumbing issues, Paul at Expert Rooter and Plumbing is your guy. He has great ratings for a reason. He was very prompt on time, very thorough with his work and estimate, and did a really good job on fixing pretty much the entire plumbing for my house.
Paul listed out everything that he was going to work on, he followed through, and made sure I was up to date with information as needed. He explained to me the whats, wheres, whens, whys, and hows. Price wise, he was very competitive among the three other bids. I would use him for other future issues moving forward… Thanks again, Paul.

Great service. Paul and his team did a great job. I have a plumber in the city who I use usually but for the job I needed (a gas line for a fireplace) he suggested I just go with one of the people that works with the Fireplace business. I am so happy to say they did a great job. They were punctual, professional, informative and generally just excellent The job took less time than expected, the permits went off without a hitch and their price was competitive with the other bids (actually slightly less!) They even left the space tidier than it was when they got there!
Now I have TWO great plumbers I trust which I’m very happy about. Call Paul and his crew– they do an excellent job!!!
(p.s they are based in the south bay but also work in SF!)

tl;dr call these guys to fix your plumbing. they’re fast and punctual and not expensive
my roommate dropped a toilet paper tube down the toilet. we ordered a plunger off amazon, tried to fix it ourselves a few times and then i gave up and found paul on Unilocal.he came the next morning and dislodged it and the flushing functions again. should have called him as soon as it happened. will definitely use him again for any other mishaps.
i had put it off bc i wasn’t sure how much a plumber would cost but it was only $ 175. i previously had a plumber that my building called to fix a clogged garbage disposal and he gave me crazy quotes $ 300+ for complicated suggestions around taking apart a bunch of stuff.
really grateful paul is so honest and fair and great at his work.

He was here in 10 minutes and the dishwasher was working in 20. Super professional, even my cranky dog liked him! He is my new plumber.

Paul is the best in the area. Expert Rooter installed a new gas line for our gas fireplace, just in time for winter. Paul came out and was friendly and on-​time from the estimate appointment, to installation, to inspection with the city. His crew was courteous and did a very clean-​looking install.
Price-​wise, he really can’t be beat. We obtained 4 bids from licensed plumbers and not only was Paul the lowest, he beat out the local competition quite handily. He also works well by email and is responsive on the phone– he always calls back when we left him a message.

Paul and his crew are great — we had a bad leak in our pipes causing damage to our floor. They were able to come out right away and took a lot of time looking at every possibility of where the leak was coming from. Once they identified it, they got to work right away and fixed it. Paul is very professional. He is overall an upright, honest, and great person to work with. He helped me by coming to my home and inspecting the plumbing before I purchased it and provided very useful information. All of his findings aligned with what the home inspector found including some additional insights.
