Diggity Dog

It’s been 1 year since my review and we’ve been using Diggity Dog for a few years now. We recently moved and before we made the decision I contacted Donna to make sure we would still be in their service area. That’s how great Donna, Roxy and the rest of the Diggity Dog team are! It’s Christmas Day and Roxy just took the time out of her Christmas morning to send us an adorable pic of our pup in a Santa hat which totally made our day. Super reliable, reasonably priced and the comfort of knowing our dog is in such great hands is priceless. I don’t know what we’d do without them!

Simply the best. Roxy and her team are great about always picking up our pup on time, sending us text and photo updates, and always making sure our pup is taken care of well. Prices are very reasonable and they’re always available for us on weekends and holidays. I honestly think our pup actually looks forward to us leaving town so she can hang out with Roxy and her other dog friends! She’s got 5 stars for a reason!

We LOVE the Diggity Dog team! Donna and her dog walkers are very reliable, and take such great care of our dog Bex. She loves going on walks with her pack, and is gone for a few hours each day. Donna is also very flexible when we’ve made last minute changes to our schedule. I highly recommend them to anyone who has a dog in the city!

We love the Diggity Dog team! Our pup, Sisu, is skeptical of strangers, but has always loved snuggling and playing with his Diggity dog walkers, who come pick him up every day and give him the running he needs. They’re trust-​worthy, caring and attentive. Bonus — they post pictures of the dogs so you can see them play every day.

I used to work for a doggie daycare in the city (SF hound lounge) and after seeing how little the employees and the owner cared for the dogs people entrusted them with, I left that job swearing I would never let a stranger take care of my dog. But then our dog grow from a puppy who slept most of the day to a full on crazy cattle dog who NEEDS to run and be entertained all the time! I knew I wasn’t able to give him the socialization he needed so we started looking for a group, but we had HIGH expectations and had interviewed other people before I spoke to Donna, the first time we met Roxy, I had a good feeling about her, she was calm, confident and my dog took to her right away, and I could tell she cared about the dogs under her care. Our boy has been with them ever since (walking and boarding) now he waits by the door for Roxy and I know he looks forward to seeing her and all his friends everyday! We couldn’t be happier with Donna and Roxy and can say with 100% confidence that I know my boy is in good hands with Roxy, whether for an hour or a week! Roxy Rocks!!!

This service has been amazing. I can’t say enough good things about Donna and her team of enthusiastic walkers. This isn’t a service to let your dog out for a quick pee break. Your dog will be put into a small group with other dogs of the same size and energy level. Then the walker will bring them to great locations like the beach or wooded parks that are safe to let them off leash. My dog comes back exhausted and super happy from running around and socializing with his buddies. Even if you find another walker that is cheaper, I suggest coming here. Digitty’s prices are pretty much the same as competitors (I looked) but you get a lot more !

I could not be happier with the 2.5 years that my dog, Max, shared with Donna and the Diggity Dog family. I almost never saw them, but I feel like I know the few people who walked Max everyday and took him into their homes while I was away. My dog always was happy and well exercised when I came home from work. I trusted that if anything was out of the ordinary either with my dog or the usual routine, I would get a heads up from Donna. She and her team are aces — extremely trustworthy and do a great job.
Unfortunately, I have moved out of the service area and all I can do is hope to find a group I trust as much as Diggity Dog!

I have been beyond pleased w/​the dog sitting services offered by Diggity Dog! I was always apprehensive to leave my dog, Miles, w/​people he doesn’t know in fear of him not being well taken care of… however, Diggity Dog has changed that! Not only do they take amazing care of Miles… sometimes I’ll spot his pic on Facebook allowing me to see he’s having fun & I’m great hands while being sat by them! I would recommend their services to anybody!

I am a dog trainer and have reviewed the entire Dog Walker Class that Diggity Dog offers. I am very selective about which classes I will recommend to those needing to fulfill their requirements for their SF City and GGNRA Dog Walker Permits because we need skilled professionals in the field. The material covered in this course will prepare a novice for becoming a professional dog walker and will teach those that have been walking for awhile some beneficial skills. This course goes beyond the hands on training and offers education in how dogs learn, this is key in working with dogs. There is practical information such as how to unload dogs safely out of your vehicle. This course covers all bases and I have signed up one of my employees to get certified!

Diggity Dog is the best! They are always available to take my dog for long weekends and for walks whenever I ask. Donna is also quick to follow-​up when I ask for certain dates. I love that I get to see what my dog, Roxy, is up to on their Facebook page while I’m out of town. Diggity Dog is reliable and a great experience for my dog/​me!

This review is for Donna’s online course offered to commercial dog walkers. The course was well structured and very informative. Best of all the course is online. I believe she is the only person offering part of the course online. Very helpful.

Donna and her team have been walking our dog Barkley for 4+ years, and he’s had an awesome time with them since the beginning. The walk is something he looks forward to everyday (he waits patiently at the front door in advance of pick-​up) and always comes home super happy and enthusiastic. From special requests to change of schedule and dog-​sitting needs, Donna is responsive and easy to communicate with. We highly recommend here — she’s the best!

Like most pet owners, we adore our dog, so we took choosing a dog sitter very seriously. After hearing a glowing review from our neighbor and good friends and then reading all the Unilocal reviews about the Diggity Dog team, we reached out to Donna. We immediately felt at-​ease with Donna and, when Melissa, our dog walker, came to our house the first time, we knew we’d made the right decision. Our anxious little shelter dog loved her immediately, and she took careful time and consideration in training him to be off leash, stay with his pack, and improve his recall. I love seeing the pictures and videos of him playing with his pack on Facebook. Melissa is always willing to answer our questions about his behavior and what we can work on with him. Most importantly, not only is he super excited to see her each time, SHE seems equally excited to see him. It’s a relief to know that the person spending so much time with our pooch cares about him and takes her role seriously.

Donna and team have been walking my Miniature Schnauzer for the last 6 months. Everything has been great, Donna is very responsive over email and has been incredibly accommodating. Definitely recommend!

When my wife and I were looking for a dog walker for Cody, our Havanese, we hoped that Donna and her team would be perfect. After all, Donna had a Havanese also and we knew that’s a sign of a real dog person! Of course, once we met Donna we knew for sure. Her and her walkers all fell in love with Cody like we knew they would, but most important to us was that Cody would love them and his new friends in his walking group.
It was so fun seeing the pictures and videos of Cody’s play group on Facebook, and it let us see for ourselves how much fun he was having. We knew for sure he must be having fun because he let his walker put him in a Halloween costume! Throughout the whole process Donna has been available to us, flexible with our schedule, and always accommodating to our needs. You’ll be really happy with Diggity Dog and more importantly, your dog will be also.

Let me be specific about the situation in which I think everyone should know and BE AWARE OF DONNA and HER BOARDING SERVICES.
Before Thanksgiving, we looked for a dog boarder, and figured with all these wonderful reviews, that it shouldn’t be so bad. I was a little apprehensive though because most of the reviews are about dog walking and not boarding. There were very few options left that had openings over the holiday weekend. Anyone who knows our Bernese knows he’s the sweetest dog in the world, even though he’s 90lbs. He’s pretty lazy and the biggest goofball, but he loves to eat. He always gets so excited about treats. Donna called to say she actually won’t board the dog herself and she preferred cash or check paid up front.
So my boyfriend dropped off our Bernese at this guy’s house, who has another dog (medium size dog, probably around 30−40lbs) and the guy also has kids (our dog loves kids, he would just lay on the ground so the kids won’t feel threatened so he can be pet). The guy seemed a little clueless and indifferent, but we figured how hard can it be to take care of our dog. He’s not very active at all, extremely easy going, and prefers to sleep most of the day. Regardless of how much you think your dog is low maintenance, in the care of someone completely incompetent, it will turn into a nightmare as this experience has shown us.
My boyfriend leaves to fly all the way to Virginia for Thanksgiving, only to have her call us the very next day in the morning and tell us that her pet sitter got «bitten» because our dog is «aggressive» and probably has a «kennel cough.» I put all this is quotes because of the absurdity of the situation. Her tone was extremely accusatory and she demanded we pick up our dog from across the country. Completely surprised by the situation, I couldn’t believe her story. He was healthy and fine when we left him, but now he’s developed a kennel cough overnight and has had a COMPLETE personality change?!
So I told my boyfriend about the phone call, and he called the guy to ask him what had happened and Donna totally embellished the story. The guy had a treat in his hand and London reached for it, but the guy felt that my dog was lunging at him (probably because he knows absolutely NOTHING on how to handle a large dog) and pulled away, which then caused a SCRATCH on his hand (the guy’s own words). The guy was so worried and paranoid, my dog clears his throat after he eats because he just gobbles up food, that he called Donna and told her he couldn’t take care of our dog anymore.
Why are you hiring incompetent people to look after other people’s dogs that they obviously have no experience or ability to? Just because they happen to have a dog themselves does not make them experts or good dog caretakers. I have two dogs and I’ve dog sat plenty of other people’s dog, and I know it’s extremely difficult because every dog is different, especially if they’re of different breeds than your own. Dog sitting is an extremely complex thing, and you shouldn’t hire someone who doesn’t KNOW HOW to dog sit or handle anyone else’s dog but his OWN. Then call me and accuse my dog of being hostile and give me all this crap about how the guy has kids. WELLS MAYBE HE SHOULDN’T BE DOG SITTING IN GENERAL IF HE HAS KIDS AND DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE OTHER PEOPLE’S DOGS.
So here we are on the other side of the country trying to figure out find a safe place for our dog. Luckily my boyfriend’s friend was still there for another day before he flew out, so he went to pick up our dog. He was completely taken aback by the story, and everyone we’ve told it to that knows our dog thinks it’s the most ridiculous thing ever. My boyfriend then had to find a flight back the very next day, two days before Thanksgiving. We were extremely angry and irritated about their incompetence. We figured what is done is done. Our dog is safe, and we’ll just forget this drama filled company behind us. But I felt I needed to leave a review so other people wouldn’t be suckered in to their boarding services.
After I left my initial review and after more than two weeks past the ordeal, we got an email from the guy demanding we send him vaccination records because he was going to go to the doctors for his scratch because he was concerned our dog had kennel cough. Our dog did not have kennel cough and the timing is extremely suspicious. First of all, any experienced dog boarder knows to insist on having vaccination records BEFORE you board a dog. We thought it was absurd for him to ask it now, AFTER the fact. He went on to say he would call animal control to take our dog away if we did not do as he asked. HARASSING AND THREATENING US? Are you serious? In my opinion, you aren’t running a business, you’re running a SCAM. I’ve never been so disgusted in my life.
This is stuff of nightmares. BEWARE.

My dog, Riley, is my best friend and part of our family. Donna and her team know how much we love our pets and take their dog-​walking responsibilities seriously. I am a nurse and have a random work schedule, Diggity Dog walkers are flexible and always honor my unique scheduling requests, even on short notice. Their personal touch lets me know they are taking good care of Riley on his walks. Just today, Donna texted me,
to take a look at Riley right front paw when I got home. His walker noticed he was licking it and wanted to make sure he was ok, (his paw is fine BTW).
Riley LOVES his walkers and when they come to get him, he whines with glee and practically jumps into his collar and leash to go. I am so grateful to have a trustworthy, reliable, affordable walking option. Riley is a happier, healthier dog thanks to Diggity Dog walking :) I highly recommend!

Hot Diggity Dog Walking is simply the best option you can find in the Bay Area. I have no words to describe how good Donna and her team are with canines. They are simpy the best thing it can happen to your dog.- I have seen the way Donna and her staff members treat dogs and I can tell you that despite the fact that I love dogs I do not take care of my own dog the way they do. They have a great reputation in the East Bay and San Francisco and this is because of the way they do things. I highly recommend Hot Diggity Dog Walking to everyone in the Bay Area.

Ashley with Diggity Dog has been walking our Dalmatian Lupo since July. Lupo has returned from the park each day happily exhausted. Lupo is always beyond excited to hear Ashley at the door and we are thrilled to have such a tired, happy dog to come home to each day!
Donna and Diggity Dog have been fantastic to work with as our work schedules have shifted and have always found a comfortable place for Lupo to stay as we go on weekend adventures and vacations. Lupo loves his weekend romps with Roxy and friends.

Donna is simply fantastic. I had a bad experience with a former dog walker and had nearly sworn off the whole group-​walks-​and-​play situation altogether. But, I could tell my often-​anxious fox terrier, Molly, needed more exercise than she was getting.
Donna came over to my house and let me talk extensively in detail only a dog-​owner can really achieve about my terrier and my concerns. She was fantastic with her and answered all of my questions. In the first few weeks, Donna called me personally to give me an update and even moved Molly to a different play group so we could get just the right fit for her. Molly had some minor digestive issues causing a few trips to the vet, and Donna was incredibly responsive and accommodating with my questions about whether Molly was picking up anything strange off the ground, the state of her stool and my request to restrict treats until we figured out what was going on.
I spent a week working from home and got to meet the dog walker who picks Molly up everyday. He was surprised to find anyone home in my apartment, but was incredibly gracious and agreeable. The best part was seeing how Molly would leap off the couch and sit with her tail wagging at my apartment door at (seemingly) random. Of course, a few moments later I would barely hear the building’s door open, and a few seconds after that, a knock at my apartment door. If my dog is leaping off the couch in excitement at the sound of Joey’s car on the street (which I could never detect), I know she’s having a fantastic time. And, of course, a bit selfishly– she’s calm, exercised, socialized and even a little sleepy by the time I get home from work in the evenings.
