My husband and I found David from my cousin. He was the photographer for her wedding. We had already booked a photographer for our wedding but encountered some issues with our Photographer and a venue which we really want our engagement photos taken there. One of our first dates was at the Alameda historical movie theatre and due to some legal issues, unfortunately our Photographer which we hired did not want to take our photos there.
As a result, we were on a mission to find a skillful Photographer who was willing to work with Alameda Movie Theatre conditions.
When we first met David, we told him our situation and he was open minded and open to the challenge of taking engagement photos at a movie theatre! From then, we signed a contract for this engagement shoot and he made it happen.
Overall, David and his Assistant were punctual, easy going and made us feel comfortable during the whole process. What I like about David is that he listens to his clients and their visions on their photos. I would definitely hire David again for any occasion. He’s on my list if I need a photographer in the future!

David was our wedding photographer, and not only did he make every wedding photo incredibly stunning, he also was a really wonderful fun person to be around our wedding day. We looked at many photographers before hiring David, but he really was an artist, and his work was incredible. What was even better was that he had teasers of our wedding online within just a couple of days of our wedding.
I haven’t been someone who loves having my photo taken, and David made me very comfortable and the experience fun. He did great staged and action photos. We can’t thank him enough for his great work! First off, our engagement photos were fantastic. My husband and I are quite awkward when it comes to photos but they came out looking like we were pros. He’s very good at tricking us into having a good time lol.
Our wedding photos looked like they came out of a magazine! It started snowing right before our outdoor wedding and instead of freaking out like the rest of us (me mostly), DK was super stoked with the beautiful snowfall and started shooting away. He kept up with all of the crazy events that occurred that night and captured them beautifully. Drunk groom and all.
DK is a real artist! I highly recommend him for your wedding or event!

I am so glad to have David to photograph our wedding earlier this year. He has exceeded our expectation by far! He was able to capture all the natural loving glances between my husband and I during the hectic moments of our wedding. Those were some of my favorite photos from our wedding. He has an unbelievable way of making everyone feel comfortable and be as natural as possible. I personally hate being photographed but David made feel beautiful and confident. While all the group photos with my aunts, uncles, cousins and friends were important, I think the most memorable ones were the ones when we were not posing. My dance with my father was very special to me, there was one perfect photo of me looking up to him as he was admiring me as if I was still his little girl. To sum it up, David is the best wedding photographer I know but most importantly, it is fun with work with him and he will go above and beyond to exceed your expectation.

David is our go to photographer for real estate listings. He does an amazing job capturing space in the best light possible without a lot of touch up and after effects. He’s super fast and professional. Always looking forward to our next project together. Thanks David!

This a long overdue review!
David is a natural artist who knows how to capture beautiful moments with great attention. David and his team were recommended by one of closest friends and after looking through his work I knew I wanted him to capture our wedding. David was very professional and efficient. David is honest and very easy to work with, which made my husband and I confident in our decision. Our engagement shoot was fun and the pictures were great!
David did an amazing job on our wedding day! He blended so well that I did not notice him taking so many pictures and after looking through the photos I realized how many moments and details he captured. The pictures are beautiful and we love them! The best part is that as we look through them we relive that day which only speaks volume of how amazing David is with his work!
Also, David has a great photo booth which added a lot of fun for our guests!

This review is overdue. I got married in June but was working with David since last year. He replied to my inquiry very fast and met with me and my husband to discuss the photo package. To be honest he was the first photographer I met and immediately knew I wanted him to be our photographer!
Our engagement pictures turned out great and we used a couple for our slide show. On our wedding day David was on time and did such a great job that the bridal party commented how friendly and professional he was. The pictures turned out wonderful and I am so happy that I can look back at those pictures and relive the wedding day. Thanks David!

David is awesome! Our whole wedding party loved him! He is super nice and easy to work with. I am the most unphotogenic person and he makes me feel like i can take a good picture. David makes you feel at ease and directs you when taking pictures. We are so thankful that we hired him as our wedding photographer. From the few wedding teasers that he has shown me I can already tell that our wedding pictures are turning out beautifully!

David, thanks for being a big part of our wedding! You went far and beyond your groomsmen duties, offering and managing the oh-​so-​popular photo booth. Your photo booth service was a big hit, can’t believe there was a line… all the guests (young and the wise) had such a great time. It seemed hectic with all those people and the large variety of props, but that’s the fun of it… we loved it. Every so often, we would look back at the silly pics… makes for some good laughs. You and your assistant did a wonderful job… all praise and no complaints. An excellent addition to your photography services.

I have so many good things to say about David and his work! I’m going to write a long review because I know other future brides out there really want to know details on photographers!
First let me state some basics —
–I needed a photographer to take engagement photos
–I hate having my picture taken by others
–We are on a budget. Like a really tight budget.
Just like any of you reading this review, I went on Unilocal to search for an SF photographer. Somehow with the right combination of search words, I found David. Thank goodness! I just got all the photos (less than a week after the photo session!!) so I can write this review with confidence (links to photos below).
1. David and his assistant made us feel at ease. We had never done something like this so I was really nervous. I seriously considered having a drink or two before taking the photos. LOL. But there was no need.
2. David is affordable. Note — affordable in this case means you get MORE than what you pay for. Much, much, more. (And I know people don’t like to openly discuss money and pricing and such, but for anyone planning a wedding who is NOT rich, hey it’s a very important factor that can’t be ignored.) I’m an internet freak. Prior to this I googled many, MANY, other photographers work to get an idea of what results you get at different price ranges. After seeing our photos from David, I can say that I like his photos better than some others who charge 3 times as much. Why do they charge so much? I’m guessing it’s because they’ve been doing it for so many years. This is David’s 1^st year (possibly 2^nd?) doing this, and I foresee his rates increasing as he becomes more in demand.
3. What I wanted out of this photo session more than anything was to capture photos of us in my fav neighborhood in this city that I love. I love the Embarcadero and the backdrop of the hi-​rise buildings in the FiDi. Before doing the photos I envisioned a photo of my fiancé and I with the SF skyline behind us. These are the types of photos I could see myself framing and putting around the house, rather than those typical portrait style photos with our huge faces taking up the entire photo and looking all cheesy and smug. So I told David this, and voila, and he got me 100%. See for yourself ( Unilocal wouldn’t let me upload) ~
Note ~ I’ve linked these more «fine arts» style photos even though David did get some «couple» shots of us just so that you can get an idea of his scope of work. Other people have posted more close-​ups so you can view those.
I just have to reiterate how impressed I am. After just 2 hours, and being photographed by someone whom we’d never met before and had no direction from us (other than a skyline shot), the photos I’ve received have definitely surpassed my expectations. We’ve gone ahead and booked David for the wedding, and I cannot wait to see him work his magic then :)

I love David Kim Photography! We did an engagement session and Trash the Dress with David and we looooooooved our photos! We wish we could have hired David for our wedding but he was not in business then! We have gotten so many compliments for our pictures.
David is very professional, extremely nice, and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. We loved his ideas and vision. You can see from the pictures he definitely has talent. Not only do I highly recommend David for anyone looking for a great wedding photographer, people have been asking me. The pictures obviously speak for themselves…
