I love buckhorn! In person, the service is pretty consistent and great. I often order delivery and that when the service gets spotty but I love the grilled chicken avocado salad and lots of their other dishes. Definitely will be back!

can i give zero stars? compared to their flagship store this is inedible. they got my takes fifteen minutes for a sandwich when i am the only one there. they are always empty, so their incompetence is not unknown. food quality was barely deserving of this rating. how long do they let meat sit? i wonder if they pay off the city inspectors and they don’t show their food service rating, isn’t that mandatory!

Tasty and quick lunch conveniently located in the Metreon food court. An oasis of tasty meat and crispy onions amidst a sea of kale and fancy noodles. I’ll definitely be back!

Great steak sandwich, but still lacking some key fresh ingredients to balance all the flavors. I felt my mouth over flowed with oil and oil and did I mention oil. The buckhorn onion strings were to oily. Probably not clean oil or not hot enough when frying. I’d go back and try their salad instead. Less greasy I would think!

I used to eat here often for lunch since I work nearby. Food is average for a food court but inexpensive wins in the end especially if grabbing a quick bite. Problem is, I’ve witnessed numerous instances of employees not properly washing their hands while prepping food. Not sure what they’re called, but those light up buzzer thingies they give you while you wait for your food are the main issue. When your buzzer alarms you take it up to the food prep area to grab your order, sometimes handing the thing to the person making food. Do they wash their hands or change their gloves before returning to food prep? NO. They handle that filthy buzzer then dive, filthy hands and all, right back into various food handling tasks. I’ve pointed this out to Buckhorn employees and management staff numerous times but the problem persists. WTF?!?

After stumbling in the Metreon after the SB I quickly headed to Buckhorn desperately in need of some fuel for the body. At this particular Buckhorn they slice the tri tip super thin which I’m not a huge fan of. Most of the time I go to Buckhorn I get one of their many sandos with the chipotle sauce on the side for dipping purposes. Overall I was disappointed in the thin tri tip but the overall flavor to the meal was definitely Buckhorn’esque.

Horrible. Overpriced food, terrible french onion soup — I mean, how bad can you make French Onion Soup? They have an answer for this.

The tri-trip here is amazing! Love their Dad’s Cut portion and I often change the vegetables for thin, crispy onion rings. Their mashed potatoes are hearty and pretty good. The corn bread is a little sweet but again, good. I go to San Francisco once a month and I try to eat here once every time I go. My kids love their kids tri-trip sandwhich too.

I ordered bacon cheeseburger today. The meat was so burned that it was inedible. There was a fifteen minute line. So no need to get back in the line and complain about the order. But they need to do something about the quality of their offering. It was really borderline inedible.

The burger was wack it tastes like a frozen beef patty. I would not go back nor would I recommend it for a friend. The lady at the cash register was nice that’s about it

Let’s say you are in SOMA and have a Tri tip craving for lunch and in a rush? Buckhorn is there for you…

A decent Buckhorn. I’ve been to a couple and maybe because this ones in the metreon it just doesn’t seem so up to par as the ones say in Walnut Creek or Emeryville. I’ve actually visited this one a couple times and my latest was during lunch time for work. I ordered a Buckhorn Burger with fries in the side. The burger was ok at best. Kinda on the dry side even though I asked for medium. The fries were fantastic though and I highly recommend asking for a side of ranch to dip them in. It’s pricey overall for what they give. With a much better burger option right around the corner(Super Duper Burger) this is probably a spot I’ll only go to if I need something quickly and don’t want to wait in line for another spot.

Good choice for when you want tri-tip on the go. They provide quick services and the food was good.

This is the best food-court food that I have ever had. The tri-tip sandwiches are very tasty and the barbecue sauce has just enough spice that you know it is there but it doesn’t overwhelm the meat. I’ve only ever had the sliced meat sandwiches, but my colleagues say the burgers and salads are tasty, too. They have beer, but not glasses… so you can drink from the bottle or a plastic cup. Just so you know. It’s a food court, so you’ve got to let some things slide.

And the winner is… The Metro Burger. It couldn’t have been I was in a just so hungry it was good type of situation, I mean the burger was really good. I love the smell and that of a nice grilled burger It was cooked to perfection and the pickled red peppers and onions gave it a great kick, let’s not forget the feta cheese they put on top that melts just enough, but no so much that you miss that creamy texture. I opted for the sweet potato fries, which could have been cooked a little more on the crunchy side, but as they say. A close mouth don’t get feed and I didn’t mention, so I didn’t sweat it. Overall I was happy and that is always a good thing!

Please spare me the«oh no a dumb vegetarian reviewing an obvious meat restaurant!» The door’s over that way. I’ve tried Buckhorn a few times, they have some interesting salads, as well as a portobello mushroom burger(for the vegetarian in you). Each time I’ve always found it adequate at best and never really felt the need to try it again. I decided to give the Metreon location a try though. I ordered the portobello burger again, with a side order of fries. I’ve had portobello as a burger patty before, it can be insanely delicious, juicy and tasty and is one of my favourite options when it’s available. Unfortunately, Buckhorn Grill’s portobello burger isn’t really anything to get excited over. The mushroom cap was cooked through but was lukewarm and made the bun soggy. The fries weren’t that great either, they reminded me a lot of what you could get at McD’s: thin, adequately cooked, yet lacking any crispness or flavour to make them stand out. In a city with some amazing fries, there’s no reason to get just adequate ones. I doubt I’ll try Buckhorn again in the future. My meat-eating friends love the trip tip steak and the gravy looks awesome, but there’s other places I’d rather go at this point.

Just had my first burger from this place. It was good. just right in portion and side. However, !13.00 bucks is a bit of a steep price to pay for the above mentioned items. That is unacceptable. Thls kind of pricing is why people are going broke. Costs are too high fir everything. Anyway, I am satisfied with my food. Come and try it.

I had no idea there was a buckhorn even closer to me! I would go to the one in the mall but it’s nice that there’s one at Metreon. This location isn’t as crowded as the mall of course, which is a plus. The restaurant itself was lacking something though. I guess I’m used to being able to put myself some ranch dressing if I wanted extra, etc. But they didn’t have that option here. The food is delicious as always but the meat doesn’t seem as fresh(maybe) as I would get it at the mall. But either way Buckhorn always seems to satiate my hunger with their delicious salads or anything tri tip involved! Thier fries are usually amazingly crisp but this location’s fries seemed more cold and not as fresh as the malls location. I would still come here due to it being closer and less crowded, plus there’s boba and a cako in the area too!

I usually go to the Westfield location and I might continue to do so. I’ve been here twice because I also wanted to get sharetea. Both times I ordered the wrap. It just doesn’t taste the same and the wrap does not hold very well. I don’t know what Westfield location does to the wrap but it’s not as hard to eat at this one. Everything just falls out…

I couldn’t figure out what I wanted for lunch. All I knew was I wanted a melty sandwich. Since I was at Target shopping, I decided to wander into the Metreon. I landed on Buckhorn Grill since they had meaty, cheesy sandwiches. *Chipotle border buck($ 8.99): thinly sliced tri tip with chipotle sauce and pepper jack cheese Eh, this was just okay. The meat was very chewy so it was a little hard to bite into the sandwich. Plus I like my meat on the rare side, so this was a little too cooked for me. And the cheese wasn’t very gooey and comforting like I wanted. Make sure to grab their sauces to give the sandwich some more flavor. There’s a selection of: Sweet fire sauce, Cowboy ketchup, Creamy horseradish & Smoke house bbq sauce. I liked the horseradish and smoke house bbq the best. The horseradish gave it a subtle kick and the bbq sauce gave it flavor. The found the sweet fire sauce a little too sweet and I never tried the ketchup. Overall, a very average sandwich. But remember to check in on Unilocal for $ 1 off your meal!
