I provide psychotherapy and life coaching for adults over 18. Occasionally I work with adolescents, couples, and families.

My specialties include all types of addictions, support for individuals who have a family member with addiction or mental illness, anxiety & depression, life transitions, relationships, cross-​cultural issues, and more.

I can provide therapy in English or Russian. If someone wants to work with me but is unable to come to my office, I can lawfully provide phone or Skype sessions.

History

Established in 2014.

I have been actively involved in the mental health/​psychology field for the last 17 years, and I have been providing psychotherapy and psychoeducation to individuals for over 5 years.

I earned my B.A., in Psychology with Honors from University of California at Berkeley, and my M.A. in Psychology with High Honors from Golden Gate University.

I am a fully licensed as a Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of California. My work experience included UC Berkeley Psychology Department in Berkeley, CA; Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention Center in San Mateo, CA; Ida B. Wells High School in San Francisco, CA;

The Sequoia Center in Redwood City, CA; and Ohlhoff Recovery Programs in San Francisco, CA.

I am passionate about helping people live happier lives and cope with life’s challenges in a healthy way.

I have spent half of my life in Europe and half in the US. I’ve lived/​studied abroad in Russia, England, Austria, and Spain. I have always been interested in different cultures and languages. I love living in the San Francisco Bay Area, and consider it my home.

I am a published author, speaker, and consultant on mental health topics. On occasion, I provide expert witness services in addiction cases for public defense lawyers, when I feel that I can make a difference in the case.

In addition to private practice, I am employed at a drug and alcohol treatment center where I help my clients recover from addictions.

She has a depth of knowledge in her area of specialization with addiction, but I would refer a wide variety of clients to her with confidence. I had the pleasure of working with Annia Raysberg in a professional capacity on several complicated cases. I am a criminal defense attorney, and rely on substance abuse experts like Annia to assist me with case review and preparation, understanding of my client’s behavior, and preparation of a strong mitigation case for sentencing.
In all cases where I have retained Annia to do an assessment and prepare a report, she has done a truly outstanding job. I always felt that her focus was on getting a person who needed help the right resources to get that help, and never on padding her hours and/​or getting paid. She was punctual, dedicated, and very professional, going above and beyond what I expected, following up on my clients after assessing them, reaching out on their behalf to people in her professional recovery network, and asking me about them and their successes long after her work was done.
Annia genuinely cares about people, and it shows in her work. Thanks to Annia’s insight and her ability to get people to open up to her, several of my clients are now free and thriving in the recovery, instead of serving lengthy incarceration.
