My wife and I ordered a custom sofa and loveseat with Stephanie’s help and we absolutely love it. We were able to custom fit the furniture to perfectly fit our living room. The cushions are very comfortable, just firm enough, and the fabric is nice and soft as well. The team at Union street (Vic, Stephanie, Angela) was extremely helpful and they kept us updated throughout the building process; we also received a photo of the completed set from the factory before it shipped out. We highly recommend Sofa U Love!

I purchased a sofa that needed some tweaking after it was delivered. Vic promptly and courteously addressed the issues and I am very happy with the results. I feel this is a business that values customer service and does custom work.

I’m so pleased with my new sofa! I chose the model in the Union Street store, chose the fabric, the wood stain, and had it built to the exact size I needed to fit in my apartment. It arrived exactly when they said it would and It was a perfect experience. The sofa is a beautiful and comfortable addition to my apartment and best of all so affordable! Let the movie marathon begin!

If you can dream it they can build it. I came in with a picture of the style of couch I wanted and within 15 minutes was able to find a fabric and nailheads with the help of Stephanie. I’d only wished the fabric was slightly softer. Also it took roughly 11 weeks to complete when they had quoted 6 — 8, which is why I give them 4 star versus 5.

I had been having trouble finding the size couch I needed in the color i wanted and stumbled upon Sofa U Love by chance. Stephanie was there and helped me to put together all that i wanted. At some point in the order, I was informed that the fabric I ordered was no longer available. I returned to the store and found something close. The order was not delayed by the change. The couch was delivered as estimated and I love it — fabric and comfort.

I don’t recall his name, but the designer/​sales person we worked with was incredibly helpful. I, to put it mildly, have absolute no interior design skills — but the staff here helped me walk through all the sofa shape/​material/​etc. options. In the end, we got a sofa that works really well in our office and looks great.
–1 star because the sofa has some squeaky springs, but otherwise I was satisfied with the experience and product.

My new custom sofa arrived yesterday — all my friends and I (and my dog) agree that it is amazing!
I purchased it from Stephanie about 8 weeks ago. She was enthusiastically helpful. Even let me take home the in-​store swatches to check color coordination at home. She spent a lot of time with me and I felt well taken care of.
Vik at the manufacture site in LA was also very attentive. He called, emailed, and even mailed samples of the fabric with stitching color options to make sure I got exactly what I wanted.
The delivery men were super courteous as well. Very careful bringing it in. Even gave me tips on how to take it apart in case I want to move it. They were meticulous and detailed.
I had (foolishly) ordered a soda online previously and it was terribly constructed and uncomfortable. I decided to pay extra and get exactly what I wanted. This is one of those instances where you get what you pay for.
If you are looking for an awesome sofa experience and want to support small local companies, go with these guys.

LOVE my sofa from Sofa U Love! I own a bridal shop across the street, and recognized the store from my college days (I had one of their sofas that lasted me through 4 moves and 10 years!). We just moved into a new home, and I couldn’t find the sectional I was looking for — deep blue velour, tufted, modern, and LARGE. I went in and Stephanie walked me through the fabric options, which were all affordable, and the style. We worked out a specific size that would work for my new space. Overall, it was easy! When the sectional came, I was so happy with it! It makes our space. And best of all, it was relatively inexpensive — for something custom & domestically produced. Amazing. Thank you again!

Vic and the team at Sofa-​U-​Love were great! Super helpful in picking out what we had envisioned and making sure that it all fit in the space.
We had found a super awesome sofa at a design center place which was super big dolla, but the SUL folks built us the same sofa with our own specific fabric (we found it on the internet and had it shipped to SUL) at a fraction of the price.
We now have what looks like the same big dolla sofa and everyone’s happy!

I ordered 2 sofas from Macys for my ailing brother, it it was truly a nightmare. There was no customer service, I could almost never speak to a real person, and when I did, they would transfer to another voice mail.
Working directly with the manufacturer makes a HUGE difference. They send a picture of your custom sofa before it is shipped, making sure it meets your expectations.

I just received my new slip cover for my Kim sofa and it’s perfect! This is even more impressive when you consider I am in Kansas City and the only thing they had to go on were pictures and measurements from me through emails and phone calls. My original sofa is from 2000, I wanted a new slipcover after 15 years. Angela sent me swatches and got the order started, then Rick called once for a measurement clarification before sending me the slipcover. It fits perfectly, as though one of them took the measurements in person. They were nice, helpful and accommodating. I am so happy to have basically a new couch! Pretty sure I’ll be ordering a second so I can change things up more often!

I have just returned from the most rewarding and satisfying experience a costumer could have at Sofa U Love. I have had a «Sofa u Love» couch, love seat and ottoman for the past 14 years. During that time I have had one spring replaced and only 3 sets of slipcovers. The couches themselves have held up remarkably well and I have found all their staff knowledgeable, patient and courteous. But today, salesperson Marina went way beyond the norm.
3 weeks ago, Marina was kindly willing to honor warranty on cushion inserts even though the items were really «used» since I kept them for over 8 months before bringing them in for correction. Shortly after that, I washed the love seat slipcover and the piping went terribly
askew. I swear I washed the slipcover in cold water so Marina took the slipcover to her workers, had them take it completely apart looking for any reason as to why something washable would fall apart. Unfortunately, they could find no viable reason. But fortunately, Marina totally understood my need for machine washable slipcovers and since I had brought the larger sofa slipcover with me, with Johnny’s permission, she actually agreed to test wash the sofa slipcover herself–
As far as I am concerned, Marina has shown the utmost in patience and truly strives for customer satisfaction. Johnny stands behind his word and has always resolved any of my concerns. The two outstanding representatives I have worked with would be Betty for her relentless help in choosing fabric samples and Marina for spearheading this most difficult piping mystery. My dealings have taken me to the stores in Toluca Lake, Studio City, San Fernando Rd and Western Ave. I trust their expertise, their workmanship and highly recommend all their stores.

This is a business we found on Unilocal,and tip of the hat to y’all, it was a good recommendation. Pretty much as all the people say: you get to design your sofa, kinda like a sandwich, you want a foot long or a six-inch…we were able to specify the length, the type, the firmness, pretty much everything but who sits on it. The turnaround was 5 weeks (ish), the delivery took a minute to show up from the time it was finished, but hey, we LOVE our Sofa, hence the name, duh.

I agree with all the reviews that Rob is great! He is extremely helpful and knowledgeable however the owner Vic I would not say the same for. Our sectional sofa was delivered late and smells terrible. It has smelt since it arrived mid July. We spoke with Vic and he agreed to make us new sofa inserts as everyone felt this was due to the down in the sofa. It turns out they sent us horrible replacement cushions a week late and they did not fit our sofa at all. It was a joke at how bad our sofa turned out looking with the new cushions. Not to mention the poly fill did not solve the problem at all. Our sofa STINKS! Everyone that walks in notices it. We have had it since mid July and do not sit on it to enjoy it as the fabric is what smells and that is not replaceable. Do not order a custom sofa unless you are ok with spending a lot of money and not being able to return it if you are faced with this same problem. It is a pretty sofa but who cares what something looks like if the quality and fabric don’t hold up to the cost. I would not make this same mistake again.

I purchase a sofa and 2 chairs from Sofa U Love about 10 years ago in Santa Barbara. Needless to say, after raising 5 kids and 2 dogs, our slipcovers needed to be updated. All it took was a quick trip to San Francisco and Rob escorted us through the selections of excellent swatches and we chose the prefect slipcover. More importantly, Sofa U Love was able to make those slipcovers to fit my furniture purchased a decade ago and perfectly! I love this company.

I ordered a sofa and 2 slip covered chairs from Sofa U Love. Rob helped me out and he was wonderful. He is very patient and took great care of me and my order. When the furniture arrived it was beautiful! I love my custom furniture. It is very comfortable and the prices are reasonable. I had been shopping online for furniture and you simply can’t get better quality and prices than at Sofa U Love. There was a tiny goof on an extra cushion cover that I ordered, but Vic, the manager at the warehouse, corrected the problem by making me extra pillow covers at no charge. I love that they were immediately accountable and resolved the issue by making me an extra set of pillow covers which look beautiful. I will be recommending Sofa U Love to all of my Real Estate clients!

Ok, if you need custom cushions, go here and ask for Rob! I am helping my hubby redecorate his office, so I started with a Klimt canvas… I needed very specific fabric to recover some cushions that would match the artwork. Rob was SO helpful and first explained to me what type of fabric I should stick with due to durability, then helped me leaf through some fabric swatches. He took the time to go through the photos I had of the office to help me match the fabric with the existing lamps, décor, and most importantly, the new canvas art! We found a gorgeous seat and back cushion combo. They are in production now, but I am so excited about them. Plus, they also have great floor model sofas, chairs, side tables, headboards, etc., for sale, at really reasonable prices. So glad I found this place and I’ll update this review once I get the pillows in my possession!

I absolutely love this place. Rob is amazing. I needed two couches — a sleeper sofa and a living room couch and he sat with me patiently testing out couches and talking colors. Not once did he pressure me to make a purchase or make me feel like my budget was unreasonable — instead he wanted to make sure I was happy and found the couch of my dreams even if it meant he had to work the pricing for me.
The quality of the couches are great. Also, why would you pay hiked up margins on big name stores when you can get a custom couch created (to the size and color) and get it for a fraction of the price and created ¹⁄₃ of the time faster. Anyone looking for a couch, definitely come here! I’m going to be a customer for life!

Amazing experience a couple weeks ago here. We were in a mad dash to get extra seating for our Super Bowl party but didn’t want to sacrifice our style and high standards for furniture. We walked into Sofa U Love at around 10:30 in the morning and found two amazing floor samples in fantastic condition for reasonable prices– a love seat and chair. The man working that day, Rob, was super helpful and didn’t bat an eye when we said we wanted to get the furniture back to our place by 3pm before the game started. He mentioned that some people had used task rabbit to move the furniture, and with that awesome advise we got two gorgeous new pieces and had them in our house just as our friends starting coming over.
Rob gave us all the details in terms of the furniture designers, colors, fabrics, etc. so I’m sure we’ll be back soon to fill in our collection. Great furniture and great service. Thrilled! :)
