You can spend hours and hours in this place and not even buy one thing. It is 2 story of incredible books. I bet you can find anything you want. Prices are reasonable. The also have record albums — vinyls — LPS. Upstairs is like a maze of books and more books. It is definitely an experience. there is no restrooms — just saying.

The Alcatraz bookstore is excellent. It’s well-​stocked with cool and unique souvenirs, gift items, books, videos, clothing and posters. Highly recommend.

Long Beach, CA
The bookstore was great. On the day we visited, one of the last living ex-​cons from Alcatraz, Robert Luke (inmate #1118AZ) was there signing his book, Entombed in Alcatraz. It was an awesome experience — not sure if he is always there. The bookstore has everything from postcards to t-​shirts to replica items the inmates were allowed to have. I think we spent an hour or more just in the bookstore. Of course it is a bit touristy, but I could not find a lot of what they had in the city. Staff was friendly, and prices were ok.
