Adollup

I’m a huge fan of this salon and Jamie in particular — she’s done a great job of color correcting my hair and styling. However I’m having trouble reaching her. I’ve tried calling and checking the site for an appointment with no luck. I also went to the salon and it appears to be closed — does anyone know where I can reach her?

Looking through recent reviews, I saw questions if Adollup salon is still open. YES! :)
Jamie appears to be working by herself now, but I just got my hair cut & colored again by her on December 15^th.
I booked online through her website, then after reading here on Unilocal doubts if the salon was still in business, I called and left a VM to confirm she was still open. Jamie called me back the same day and reassured me she is. So no worries!
Her coloring technique is excellent, btw. She can mix 2 – 3 colors together to give your color depth and highlights in one single process. It’s fantastic! I get compliments on «my» red hair at least a few times a week from strangers.

Wow! I couldn’t speak highly enough of Jamie Bagley. I’ve gotten my hair cut by many in SF and feel like my search for a hairstylist stops here. I have short wavy hair that always seemed thick in certain areas and she was the first stylist who actually took care of it! Her attention to detail is impeccable! The layering is superb! I can blow dry my hair out straight weeks after the cut and have it still look good.
I now moved on to coloring. Jamie has a wealth of experience here too. She lifted my hair so it looks blended, tasteful, and beautiful!

I couldn’t even get in Adoll up the entire place is locked up I just found out. how are you supposed to get a haircut if you can’t even get in? Besides I heard that a haircut is $ 90 kind of high just for a haircut. A helpful lady from tip toe helped me out a lot so major props to her. She also said there was a doorbell but no doorbell. So of course I called there number here on Unilocal but they weren’t there I guess. But if an idiot like me can’t even get in to get a haircut what’s the whole point of having the place exist? Especially if there always locked… Lucky I’m nice giving 2 stars at least for the security of even getting in. I was thinking of jumping over the fence gee. I’m glad I didn’t show up Lol I would have been ripped off.

This was once a great salon with a selection of talent to choose from. It is not clear to me what has recently happened — is it closed? Is it just one stylist’s salon? All I know is that I have left messages on the still functioning but completely uninformative voice mail system and have not received return calls. I recommend that if someone is still running this salon that they be clear as to their hours, who is working there, and most important that you return your potential customer’s phone calls. Otherwise, don’t expect to have any customers.

This is a long overdue review. I’ve been going to Adollop for about 8 months now. I’ve had two haircuts with Melissa. She’s amazing. I have long, thick, wavy hair and she really worked with me on what would work best for my hair. She didn’t use blending shears! Layers that grow out evenly and elegantly!
I’m so tired of hairstylists that layer with razors and blending shears.
Anyway, Melissa is gone :(I tried to book an appointment with Adollop but got an email that she had left the studio. I hope she’s doing well in her new career — whatever that may be. I’ll miss her and my hair will miss her even more.

My new hair mantra «In Hareg We Trust»! I wanted to find a new saloon and thanks to Unilocal found this gem. I was in dire need of a hair cut but am always hesitant because I have fine hair and end up always getting the same haircut. This was the first time I gave full creative control to a stylist and have LOVED the result. My hair now has more movement and I definitely feel more sheik and cool as a result. I also love that Hareg explained to me how to maintain the hairdo. The haircut is on the higher end of what I am use to paying, but it was worth it. It also doesn’t hurt that parking is easy. I will definitely be back!

I had a great experience with Ngoce as a stylist! I have medium to long naturally curly hair and I am very nervous about cutting and styling it– I just wash it and let it dry! I usually go to the cheapest place I can find if I need a trim and leave with it wet. I decided to try somewhere at a slightly higher price range (over 50 dollars) to see if i would have a better experience and decided to give a adollup a try!
I was nervous but explained to Ngoce what I wanted– I wanted more cut off than usual as it had gotten long and lost some of its natural curl. I also brought a photo of my hair, slightly shorter and in better condition so she would get an idea of what it is normally like.
She spent a long time looking at my hair before deciding to cut it wet and adding layers to the back to take some weight off. She explained exactly why she thought this would work for me and how much she was going to take off. She spent a long time on the cut and was really precise and then she styled it to try smooth out the natural curl and get it to bounce up– I have never let anyone style my hair! I was really happy with it and the style stayed for THREE days!
When I washed it myself and did my usual — no styling I felt like it still needed a bit more off the get the curl back without all the styling and so I called back to see if they did a re-​trim service. Ngoce got me back in the chair and we discussed it again and even though I could tell we only had a short time (I made a 15 – 30 trim appointment) she was still very careful with me! She took off an extra inch off the back and now it has bounced into a curl on its own and looks great– way less work for me too!
Ngoce was friendly and she really listened to what I wanted, I think if I wasn’t happy she would listen to me, I really got that feeling. I appreciated her knowledge and advice. When I couldn’t get the curl back without styling and I called back I was really nervous, I thought it would seem like I was complaining or that I was too lazy to style it properly but she didn’t make me feel uncomfortable– It didn’t seem like a big deal she just wanted me to be happy with my haircut!
I also loved the actual place, it is very clean and comfortable and the products they use smell great– they give you the option to buy them but they don’t push them on you (which I always feel nervous about because I do worry about spending money, esp with the rent here!), since they are salon products and are slightly pricier for some.
I had a great experience and I am glad I decided to pay a little more than my usual 10 minute hair trim. I would recommend to anyone to give it a try because they listen to what you want and carry it out professionally– you just can’t go wrong with that.

Awesome place, the stylists are on top of it and prices are totally reasonable. Would definitely recommend!

I just got my haircut with Ngcoe and I have to give her props for her attention to details and skills. I’m super particular when it comes to my hair but Ngoce is the one stylist where I have always left happy. I’ve gone super short angled bob, to layered textured trim, and soon to be balayage. For the city, her prices are reasonable and she is also super cool to chat with. The salon is also in a good spot, near 101 with lots of free 2 hour parking.

Late post, but loved my haircut. Very nice hairdresser that made e feel comfortable and I was happily surprised that she was interested in what I wanted for my hair, not just styling my hair in the way she wanted to style it. She did give me suggestions, as I asked from some. I surely am not the hair expert, and I was happy to see that she didn’t judge me for being so indecisive about what to do with my hair. She also did not get annoyed with my anxiety of cutting it too short. Some hair styles see it as mistrust, which it could be, since I have had bad hair cut experiences in the past, however, instead of taking my anxiety as mistrust she reassured me and made sure to communicate with me about how much she was cutting throughout the hair cute. She did a great job and I will go back next time I’m in the city and in need of a trim.

I was so sad to hear that Hung Tran was no longer at Adolluo salon :(. But… I found Hung at ProjectXO salon in San Francisco! !!! All is not lost! :)))

I’ve gone to Jamie several times and she is a magician with the shears! Definitely my go-​to stylist when I want a great cut that also grows out beautifully. For my last cut, I wanted something no-​maintenance since I’m a busy working mom with two young kids. She did both wet an dry cut with me and was so meticulous and precise with the layering and edges that my hair literally looks styled with no styling needed. My mornings are a breeze now. Although her cuts cost more, it is definitely worth it because you get great results every time.
I’m writing this review after just getting a mediocre haircut at another salon cause I had a Social Living deal (Sorry Jamie). I was trying to save some money, but realized that the cut I got from this other salon that, without the deal, would charge the same price is definitely subpar compared to Jaime’s cuts.

Following up on my previous review. My appt (s) with Jaime went great and I know I’ve found my regular go-​to salon. Success!
My hair was a hot mess and so damaged. Jaime took care of everything. Not only did she cut and treat my hair back to health, but she taught me a lot of things. I went home and used the products she suggested as well as followed what she taught me and my hair is looking great. Two weeks after she cut my hair, I was still getting all kinds of compliments on my hair and I never get compliments on my hair.
I also wanted to dye my hair back to its natural color. Instead of jumping in, Jaime suggested taking it slowly and testing different products on my sensitive skin behind my ear first. I came back two different times testing out two different dyes and I had s reaction to both. I was grateful she suggested testing it first! She gave me a few more options and we are going to see which one of those work. I also had issues when I had extensions stapled to my hair for a show I was in and it made my hair fall out. I’ve been growing it back and Jaime gave great suggestions on products that will help with that.
I’m just really glad I’m in good hands with an expert who knows how to get my hair back to healthy, beautiful shape! This salon is of course more expensive than where I used to always go — Supercuts lol but it’s so worth it. I felt every single strand on my head was taken care of. Highly recommend

I recently moved to Potrero hill and was looking for a place to get my hair done. I am admittedly very bad at remembering to get my hair cut until it’s way to late and looking hazarded. I typically find a salon and end up being disappointed int the stylist making me feel guilty for not coming in earlier, and am underwhelmed with my cut. I also have not had professional color in probably 8 years. I came upon Adollup and made an appointment for a cut and color. Melissa was GREAT. She didn’t give me the guilt trip about my last cut being 6 months ago, she spent time talking to me about what I was looking for and she helped me pick out the perfect color for what is as looking for (since I didn’t know what i was taking about). My cut is petty basic, but she made it look great!
My only complaint was she took another client for a touch up while my color was setting, though that didn’t affect my color at all so it ended up being no problem!
I will certainly be back!

I have been in SF for 3 years and hadn’t found a salon I liked, so I was rarely getting haircuts. My hair was ridiculously long, and I was fed up, Unilocaled for a place near home in Potrero Hill, and decided to try Adollup.
I sat down with Melissa and nervously explained that I was considering chopping off more than a foot of hair, the struggles I have with my heavy curls, and how I normally wear my hair. She was really patient, and she explained a couple options of length we could try if I wasn’t committed to going short. But I decided to go for it, and she carefully shaped my hair into perfection.
During the whole cut, she checked in with me often to make sure it was looking good to me, and she took the time to talk to me about cut options for my bangs and layers as we went along.
Melissa is very sweet and talented, and I have finally found a salon I like and trust with my hair. Definitely worth trying this place!

PREFACE: Although Jaime is my hair guru, you seriously can’t go wrong with any of the stylists at Adollup. I’ve been here enough to notice the color, and cuts that customers leave with, and giiirrrrll, their hair is literally a work of art! The folks at Adollup are truly talented.
Jaime is knowledgable, skilled, and personable. She always listens to my ideas, and gracefully steers me away from the not so good ones. Over the last 4 – 5 months, Jaime has colored, and cut my hair, and has even given me a fringe. Needless to say, her talented hands have truly transformed my hair. Thanks Jaime, you’re the best!

Appointment made for Wednesday afternoon. The salon is peaceful and quaint. What a nice bright location.
I had a super long, fried hair that needed to be cut. Melissa had given me a new cut and style. She was very sweet and listened to what I wanted in my new cut. I loved cut! My hair felt light and fresh, just what I needed. My blowout was incredible as well and had lasted me up to 3 days. I’ll probably do a color session in the future. I’ll be coming back!
Plus– I’m not sure if people care much about the hair washing session but I do. It was brief head massage during the shampoo. ;) Much appreciate.

Melissa did a great job cutting my hair. What’s important to me is she gets the right length for my bangs. I paid $ 65 plus tip. To me that’s reasonable, very reasonable! I’m glad I found this place.
Street parking is easy, no meters or any of that. Also, this place is located in a work/​live loft, so you have to get buzzed in by the gate.

[ UPDATE: Ngoce Duong is now at e Salon on Greenwich Street in Cow Hollow. I would follow Ngoce to the ends of the earth (cuz I’m vain about my hair), but luckily, I only have to go to Cow Hollow. not too bad ]
Ngoce Duong is an incredible artist-​stylist with the best «chairside manner» I’ve ever witnessed (she also cuts for my very finicky and style-​shy boyfriend who once had a fit over the word «layers»). She is why I left my perfectly good, longtime previous salon to come all the way across town to see her at Adollup.
I’m not great with articulating my hair likes or needs, but it turns out Ngoce knows better than I do. It’s a lot of fun to put myself in her hands and come out even better than I myself could have hoped for.
So yes, these are definitely the best haircuts (and amazing bangs) I’ve ever had — really! I just get very sad and a bit hair-​anxious when I travel away from SF for long periods. I need my own personal travel-​sized Ngoce.
Oh ps, I travel a lot and live an otherwise low style maintenance lifestyle, yet still want to look impossibly chic. Ngoce has somehow created cuts that style themselves, no matter what products I do or don’t use, no matter what time of day I wash my hair. She does give me styling tips that she’s usefully translated to my skill level, but the cut enables me to have a good hair day even when I’m not able to do anything special.
Pps, she is a really nice person and someone you would love to spend an hour with, whether you’re a talker or not.
