I began my illustrious dance career at the ripe age of 5, prancing on stage with 9 other little girls in tu-​tus and slippers. I loved the stage, but the tu-​tu was not a fit. Over the following 20 years I continued to prance on stages from my childhood home in Pennsylvania to my current home of San Francisco, California, always searching for the «right dance». This search included modern dance, jazz, tap, improv, Afro-​Cuban, Brazilian Samba, American Tribal Bellydance and finally salsa. …And the Salsa stuck. To salsa I eventually added a full range of ballroom and Latin dances. From 2005 to 2008 I taught at a small dance studio in San Francisco. I now teach private lessons and group classes independently throughout the Bay Area.

My new wife and I have four left feet between us. We were terrified of the prospect of doing a first dance at our wedding, but after just a few lessons with Emily we were amazingly comfortable and ready to let loose on the dance floor.
Seriously, I had never danced before in my life and after just a couple hours with Emily I actually looked like I had a clue. When the big day came, our guests thought we did a great job and looked fabulous. I owe Emily 100% of the credit for that. She kept us calm and focused and prepared us for the first dance in an incredibly thorough manner. We highly recommend Emily to anyone looking to get ready for their wedding day.

My fiancé and I were looking for a dance instructor for our first dance, and we found Emily through Unilocal.
Neither my fiancé nor I had any dance background, so we decided to take other Unilocalers’ advice and signed up for the 6-​lesson package. Turns out that you do need that many lessons plus some personal practice time to pull it off.
The lessons went at a pace that we can handle, and Emily was extremely patient and encouraging during the lessons. She gives clear instructions, and made all the moves easy to digest for us. We had to reschedule lessons towards the end because it was close to the wedding and things got chaotic, but Emily accommodated us, and we were truly grateful for that.
In all, we had a wonderful time practicing with Emily, and had a really good first dance at the wedding. Thank you Emily!

I found Emily through 2 separate recommendations by coworkers. They were right, Emily is awesome!
My fiancée and I did a 6-​class package to get a routine together for our wedding. I have had absolutely no dance experience before, while my fiancée had some ballet classes when she was younger. Other than that, we were both very much beginners. Emily did a fantastic job of not only choreographing a routine for us to the song we picked for our first dance, she also was amazing at breaking down the routine step-​by-​step and and truly teaching us. And all the while, she was very complimentary and enthusiastic. We loved working with her!
I should also mention that our dance went perfectly at our wedding. I’m now sad that we didn’t hire a videographer to capture that moment!

My fiancé and I took a 6-​week private lesson series from Emily prior to our wedding, and had a wonderful time! We are rank beginners, and Emily did a great job of breaking things down into small, understandable chunks. She was extremely patient with us without seeming patronizing. All in all, we loved our lessons. And, our wedding dance was a success!

Emily is a phenomenal instructor. She was born to teach dance! Emily has made me feel so comfortable on the dance floor.
