Ace Hardware

This is for their key cutting service. I did not want to drive out to Lowes so I thought I will have my key cut here since it is near the gym I go to. They made 3 copies for me and None worked. Isn’t key cutting one of the things they specialize in? Not acceptable. If you need your keys cut, I suggest letting the precise automated machine at Lowes do it.

If you’d like to be insulted and abused by rude people then this is your place.
I went in today to buy a flashlight and one staff person handed me a step stool and pointed me to the correct section. So, stupid me, I climbed up the ladder and started looking around only to be yelled at quite viciously by another person (possibly the owner) who told me the ladder was for for employees only and couldn’t I read. He then suggested I shop elsewhere, so I did. Cliffs Hardware was very happy to sell me a flashlight and a bunch of other stuff and didn’t even yell at me once.
This place is to be avoided unless you’re truly desperate.

I came in here one day with a super specific request that i wasn’t even sure had an answer. I needed a hex wrench that was a specific size, and that would be small enough to fit into a really small hole that was on the side of my bed. These guys had to deal with me continuously coming back to the store to say «this one didn’t fit in the hole». I think i probably came back like 4 times and in the end we solved it by using a slightly off size hex. They refunded me for all the tools that didn’t work out. and they were super friendly. Kinda sad we moved away from these guys.

Run by I think a Rumania family, they have pretty much everything for real hardware needs. I’ve exchanged defective items with no trouble. A lovely place to have in the neighborhood

Return policy is horrible. Sold me a defective item and would not return it-​item was 12 $. I will never shop here again and I was a regular since the store is in my neighborhood.

Dirty store, poor attitude and 4 clerks at the counter sharing a story about a «weird» customer. Needed to wait until they came to a conclusion. No thank you’s and not coming back

These guys are so knowledgable and nice. The service is incredible and they help me out every time I go.

This is the perfect small, neighborhood hardware store. They have all the essentials, as well as some really cool little knick-​knacks and things, including a humidifier that looks like a cartoon pig. The staff is super friendly (Matt always puts a smile on my face) and they even have treats for when people bring their dogs in. I work up the street and this is my go-​to for when something goes horribly wrong at the pet store.

Thank heavens for this little hardware store. They are very helpful. I’ve gotten everything from custom paint to keys from them. Don’t expect to get in and out in moments but I don’t think that happens at the big stores either.
Support local business or else they won’t be there the next time you need the smallest thing.

Trustworthy and Reliable. Christina is AWESOME! She goes out of her way to help customers even if it requires her to make several calls to her vendors. I received a call a day after I left the store. You don’t get this type of service nowadays, and we really need to treasure stores such as these in our community.

Lied about there’s something I need in store, but there is nothing when i spend 30 minutes to drive here

Extremely poor customer service! Purchased paint which came out a very bad color and I went back minutes after I purchased and they would not do an exchange. I was very unhappy but they were very snarky and said that since I used it I couldn’t return or exchange it. I was going to buy another color but I did not want to give them any more service. I don’t recommend even trying it here unless you desperately need something very simple to pick up that will not need any sort of guarantee.

What I love about this Ace Hardware is that not only is it very convenient to where I live, but also every time I walk in the door there is a friendly face asking me what they can help me find. They take me straight to what I need and explain how it works, and if I buy something and take it home and it doesn’t work/​fit/​meet my expectations, I can return it (except for power tools).

Everything is peachy until you attempt to return something. It’s odd because right above the cash register there is a large sign hanging that literally says «Hassle Free Returns» (hanging below that sign was another that indicated no returns on power tools). I bought an item (not a power tool) but quickly realized I had no need for it so attempted to return early the next day. The manager expresses that they don’t accept returns for said item (which I thought was untrue). Then he accuses me of using the item in which I begin to argue that I did not. Luckily I argued my way into getting the return. Pro-​tip: stand your ground and don’t let the manager’s accusations/​demeanor get to you. It’s all about the hustle in this city and I understand that this business wants to keep as much profit as possible.
A positive is that this place does have a wide selection of items, and most of the employees (minus the manager) have been very nice and helpful. It’s a good stop for emergency situations but buy with caution!

I was shopping for materials to put together a chicken coop, and wasn’t entirely sure where to start. Isaac helped me find all the right supplies, gave me a few good tips that helped keep my chickens safe from cats and raccoons, and gave me some easy step-​by-​step instructions for assembling everything.

I live very close to this store so I go there first whenever I need something for a project. The selection is great so I usually find what I need.
Their customer service is excellent, every single time I couldn’t find something on my own, the employees were very helpful and friendly.
On my most recent visit, they were out of or did not have a particular part I was looking for. The person helping me took the time to call another hardware store, a competitor, and check with the salespeople there if they had the part, which they did. Customer service doesn’t get any better than this!

Don’t try to go in 6 minutes before close as you won’t get in! And once you’re inside you’ll see every nook and cranny jam packed full of merchandise. The staff is nice and tries to be helpful but it is extremely difficult to find things if you’re in a rush for time if they’re not the run-​of-​the-​mill stuff the staff isn’t used to finding for people. Also, as with many Ace Hardware stores, prices will always be higher.
