Absolutely poor quality of work. Even the simple operation of washing and bead blasting car parts — the result was pretty aweful. Have to do over once again in another shop. Charged $ 135/​hour for a monkey-​level work, they should have spit polished the parts. Highly recommend only for those who don’t care about the outcome of the work and ready for do-​over. Very sad that shop can afford such a lousy quality…

I reviewed A&A over 5 years ago and this is still the go to place for car parts. These guys know their stuff and can get you the part you need with in a day or most likely that afternoon.
I work on my own cars and boats and I will not go anywhere else for parts period.

I took my car here for an a/​c recharge. I had it inspected at Midas and was told that the a/​c system was in good shape, but that it needed to be recharged. I decided to take my car to a local business instead. The owner, Mike, told me it would take an hour. 20 minutes after I left, he called me and said my car was done, and that the a/​c works great. Great! I thought. When I got back to the shop, he said it got done faster because the mechanic wanted to hurry up and get out of there. That should have been my first clue. I got in my car, turned on the a/c…and air warmer than before came out, and the engine idled badly and rough. He proceded to tell me that the compressor was bad, but recharged the a/​c anyway, and charged me $ 180.00. I am most disappointed and somehow have a hard time believing that they did not do something wrong to my car. As I am posting this, I see other negative posts about this place. I am thinking about stopping payment on my credit card… I will not recommend this place to anyone… this place is a joke. i wish there was a way to give 0 stars!

I use the AUTO PARTS section of the store, I’ve never used their repair service portion.
If you do your own wrenching, but are not a full time mechanic, its important to have a store that has counter people who know their business. The two main counter guys have been their at least ten year each. They know there parts, so its unlikely they will sell you the wrong part. And those things happen with the chain store that sells generics that don’t quite fit, or the Mcz. store that seems to have high turnover at the counter.
And, while you might be able to find the parts, a couple dollars cheaper somewhere else, but I continue to go back because the wait is short, and even a few times of getting the wrong part, costs more in aggravation than the extra dollar in the price.

If there’s a 6 star I would have given it.
As a female car owner, I am always suspicious of auto mechanics ripping me off. Not with this place.
When I purchases my used car, I went to a mechanic in the sunset first and gave me a quote of 120 for one thing I had to fix. To be save, I went to Al (the name of the owner). Not only did he fix what I had to fix for 20 bucks, I had a one on one session with the mechanic on what other non urgent things I might want to fix and alternatives of what I could do.
Now, I won’t go anywhere else but Al. I also want to give a shout out that everyone should as well.

Not only did the service take them 3 days longer then they originally quoted, but when I finally did get my car back it wasn’t running well AT ALL! I brought the car back to them no less then 3 times to have them do things like adjusting the timing, in hopes that they could fix whatever it was they disrupted.
I’m not sure what kind of service other people receive when the come here, but the head gasket rebuild they did on my car WAS A COMPLETE JOKE! The only part they got right was the welds on the actual cracked head (hopefully). I had to have my usual mechanic re-​do the entire job, timing, water pump, etc.
You may be offered a very low quote for whatever your car needs, to get you in the door, but I can’t emphasize this enough.
DO NOT bring your car here if it is at all important to you!!!

Quoted me 350 dollars, called me to say its going to be 700. I talked to the Mexican mechanic who worked on it and said it only took him 30min longer whereas the front desk fellow questioned my Spanish speaking skills and said it took 4 hours longer.
They then refused to give me back my car for 2 more days and i suspect because things got heated and they wanted to teach me a lesson. Without transport I called out sick from work. I returned every day and sat at the Boss’s desk and studied for some finals which I know annoyed him but nothing to the anger i felt.
With documentation and pictures in hand I set out to sue them. Alas my car was broken into and all my receipts and pictures were taken from a folder in the trunk. I have told many people this story but never had much satisfaction till now. Do not use these Guys they are liars and Thief’s.
In fairness this happened six years ago but i suspect its the same little fellow who runs the show. I will do a bit more research and name some names as i will never forget how much these guys messed me about.
