had my car towed here at 4:30 am through their tow company. Needed new tie rods because of a collision I had the prior weekend. My car was towed in on Tuesday morning. Was ready for pickup on Thursday, I picked it up Friday due to scheduling conflicts. Henry, i think its his name, kept me updated on my repairs at least 4 times. Paid $ 620 for the tie rod repair, $ 140 for the alignment. $ 760 in total for everything and was back on the road within days. I will definitely be coming back if I ever have any more problems with this car.

Henry and Jonathan are great. They have been servicing my truck, mercedes, bmr and acura for over a year and a half and I am always satisfied with the repair quality and cost. They even do freebies on small jobs as a customer courtesy. I recommend Auto Lab without reservation.

This place is great. Just passing through when the clutch cable bolt broke. These guys worked on the car late on a Fri to get us back on the road again. 5+ stars

Excellent and honest. Once had a problem with engine air intake. Dealer says he needs to replace computer — lots of dough. Henry says problem was a tear in air boot, a $ 50.00 fix. Now works great,

I’ve been servicing my SUV with Autolab for 2 years. I drive quite a bit for work and they’ve changed my break pads, run the diagnostic tests per mileage recommendations and returned my car within a day. Did I mention they are reasonably priced? 2 thumbs up!

Henry is not only a competent mechanic, but a good person and Auto Lab is a trustworthy place to bring your car.

I want to like these guys, and am hoping they can finally make good on the issue we have had.
My 2007 Highlander needed new brakes several months ago.
Auto Lab was a few dollars cheaper than other places… and they have solid reviews! :-)
I liked the guys, they treated me well, were reasonably timely.
But when I started driving the car, the brakes squealed badly about half the time.
I know brakes need to break-​in a bit, so kept driving that way for a few weeks. But it didn’t go away. It wasn’t glazing, and it wasn’t a «brand new pads» issue.
So Auto Lab were prompt & polite about asking me to bring the car back so they could look at it. I’ve done a lot of car work myself, so knew something was meaningfully wrong. These brake pads needed to be shimmed, or the pads were not factory pads. In any case, it was not an acceptable situation.
The mechanic who took the car was pleasant enough, but clearly didn’t think there was a real problem. He drove the car around the block, didn’t get the squealing, and so pronounced the problem temporary and not reproducible.
He sprayed some brake cleaner on the disks, and sent me on my way.
Ever since, for several months, every single day we drive it, we get that deadly, loud screeching sound. Hard to have a good feeling for Auto Lab with that daily reminder. I’ve been too irritated to waste another trip there in the middle of the day, for fear I’d not get the problem solved.
I hope we can get this straightened out, because I don’t like giving bad reviews for any business… we like to support small businesses! Actually, this is my first-​ever bad review, sorry to say.
My guess is that these are great guys, and this is aberration. But although the price was low-​ish, the job was not done properly. Not good when it’s the brakes.

Honest, competent, and responsive. They’ve sent me home telling me nothing needed to be fixed, and have fixed small problems at no charge.

I had such a wonderful experience with Auto Lab yesterday. I had a dead car battery sitting in my car on the street in a spot that it couldn’t stay. I was stressed and cranky and grumpy and did I mention stressed? I decided to deal with the problem after going for a (hopefully) de-​stressing run. On my normal running path I happened to notice Auto Lab and just popped in sweaty and red-​faced and explained my dilemma. The guys were super friendly and helpful. They drove me to the car, jumped it, took it to the shop, drove me back home, and fixed it in under an hour. They charged me for the battery, but not for labor. They also topped up my fluids and made sure that things appeared to be in working order.
I will absolutely bring my car back here if it has any further problems.

An honest mechanic is worth his weight in gold. Henry Chua is exactly that. AutoLab knows their stuff, they are straightforward about prices and will give you the best deal they can. Highly recommend these guys.

These guys were so nice. They didn’t even charge me to fix my car. It was stuck in first gear. I took it to the Chevy dealer where I bought it. Those guys kept my car for two days and charged me $ 250 and the next day — stuck in first again. So my friend recommended Auto Lab as I was stuck in San Francisco and not about to drive over the Bay Bridge in first gear! It was late, they were closing. But the nice guys looked in there and immediately saw that the wire that connects to the speedometer gauge was disconnected because a pipe knocked it out when I revved the engine. They really dug in there for about half an hour and fixed it — never a problem with that again. AND THEY CHARGED ME NOTHING!!! They are heroes.

Friendly and courteous mechanics working there. I trust them too. Brought my car in because my check gauge light came on. Mechanic checked car and he said the sensor actually just came off and he reattached it and there was no charge. Whenenver I have car problems this is where I go.

Okay, so this is not the sexiest review, but every two years we all have to go through this… the SMOG check. These guys are great — they’ll do a pre-​check to see if the car will even pass. They’re quick and inexpensive. I drove up with no appointment and was done in 15 minutes.
Auto Lab makes the whole ordeal less painful.
