WICR, Inc. has been providing construction, repair waterproofing solutions for roof decks, balcony decks, planters, courtyards, podiums, and more throughout Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada for over 30 years.

We are deck coating specialists, deck repair and deck construction experts. Our deck coating specifications and waterproof installation techniques exceed all industry standards. With over 30 years of experience, WICR provides owners, contractors, project managers, property managers, and HOAs (homeowner associations) with the peace-​of-​mind that their deck and waterproof coating installations are being handled correctly.

History

Established in 1979.

Fred Wanke ran Wanke Enterprises as a successful painting and coating company from 1979 to 1997. During this time, Wanke Enterprises was named San Diego’s business of the year in 1989, and completed a number of notable historical painting renovations including: the original Light House at Point Loma, the Carriage House at the Hotel Del Coronado, and the Roller Coaster at Mission Beach.

Wanke Enterprises became WICR, Inc. in 1997 with the collaboration of Bill Campbell and Fred Wanke. With Fred Wanke’s 30 years of experience in the waterproofing and coating industry, and Bill Campbell’s 40 years of experience in the construction and waterproofing industry WICR, Inc. became the company it is today focusing on waterproof coating installations, deck construction /​reconstruction, and waterproof coating maintenance /​rehabilitation.

Today WICR, Inc. has over 30 field personnel, sales managers, 4 sales representatives and a dedicated customer service department.

Meet the Business Owner

Fred W.

Business Owner

Fred Wanke is the President and founder of WICR, Inc. with responsibilities for the sales of installation and repairs on waterproofing systems, air barriers, deck coatings, epoxy coatings, below grade waterproofing, below tile systems, and more.

Fred Wanke is a licensed General Contractor, Tile Contractor and Waterproofing Contractor with specialty in moisture control and waterproofing. Fred receive a bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Urban Studies, Economics, and Spanish Literature in 1979.

A native of Los Angeles, Fred is a loyal husband and proud father of twin daughters. Fred currently resides in San Diego where he operates one of WICR, Inc.‘s satellite offices.
