I wish I had looked on Unilocal before getting lash extensions from Allie. Hopefully if I share this information, I can prevent what happened to me from happening to you.
I got a package of 6 beauty services from
for my wedding prep. I chose Tranquility Day Spa for the lash extensions, as well as a facial, which the coupon claimed were $ 120 each, with a $ 24 mandatory tip. (She actually charges $ 40 for lash extensions, so she’s lying to elivelife, not giving a deal.)
Like many people have shared, Allie was flaky about my first appointment, which she cancelled the week before my wedding, claiming she was ill. I believed her, and wanted to avoid germs before my wedding, but I was disappointed. When I made another appointment she said she was feeling better, and then cancelled again. But I had this prepaid coupon so I made a third appointment months later.
The building is the shady apartment building and on the front plaque room 115 is listed as an arts&crafts center. I searched for the «Spa» for awhile. Finally found it, in room 115. The front was reasonably clean but undecorated, with framed kitchy posters on the floor.
She was polite. The room was reasonably clean. She did my facial and did not use steam, just chemicals, but was communicative and polite. She spent most of the time talking shit about the people who rent space from her. She asked to do my lashes while the acid peel was working on my face, which I asked if it is ok with time and she said yes.
With the lashes, she laid them out on the sheet right next to my head which is not sanitary because I’d been laying and sweating on it. Then she used 2 sets of tweezers to glue the lashes to my own lashes. She seemed clumsy and unpracticed at it, and it was terrifying and painful. I had never had a beauty treatment that felt that clumsy and clueless before. My top lashes kept getting glued to my bottom lashes, and to each other. She pulled on my lashes and even pinched my lid skin once. When I winced she asked if it hurt and I said yes and she said «it shouldn’t hurt». As if I am in the wrong for experiencing pain! My eyelashes were glued together in multiple places, so that my eyes were basically glued shut when she was finished. Then she used a sharp metal thing to CUT BETWEEN my top and bottom lashes, I actually felt it slip between my lids towards my eye and I freaked out. I left with some lash glue still stuck to some of my bottom lashes and worked it out myself because I needed to get the fuck out of there. I tipped her and she didn’t give me change but I just ran out.
The first week the lashes were irritating me constantly, they were poking and pulling my skin in places. The second week some of my natural lashes shed, but because the fake lashes were glued to multiple real lashes, they didn’t shed, but held on sideways or upside down, poking me in the eye. I trimmed a few off with little sewing scissors, which sounds crazy but I couldn’t sleep, drive, or work with them poking me in the eye.
Then this morning, one month later, I wake up with my left eye swollen shut and full of pus. I cleaned it with special (expensive) eyelid cleaner from the pharmacy, kept compresses on it, and had to go to the doctor, who told me to get the lashes removed because they were applied incorrectly and the glue is blocking my glands. The glue should never touch my skin! I called Allie because I felt she should feel obligated to remove them for free. She immediately sent me this text: «This is going out to all of Allis clients… This is her mother… Early this morning her appendix broke. She is in surgery and I am notifying all her client she will not be making her appointments today. She will be in touch when she is better.» The poor girl really is so unwell that she missed my first 2 appointments, and most of the other Unilocal reviewers appointments, due to chronic illness, car accidents, and now a surgery. Since she is unable to keep appointments consistently, she is in the perfect line of work, doing completely unimportant beauty tasks, wasting rich peoples’ time. flaky, irresponsible, untrained, incompetent, liar.
So I went to a more competent esthetician. She said that she couldn’t believe that anyone would do this to me, that it was like someone who had never had any training just left glue all over my lash line on the skin, and Allie had glued so many lashes together now I have bald patches. She carefully and gently removed the lashes for $ 30, and the procedure was not uncomfortable at all, as it should be.
Allie is obviously conning people with her coupons, requiring the mandatory tip to be what you would pay for the service anyway, so there’s no point buying the coupon. Her lack of skills are dangerous. Please save yourself the trouble and don’t go to Allie at any of her «fronts»: Tranquility Day Spa, Allie O, and Hidden Island Salon.

Out of 5 appointments she has not been able to meet the obligations of 4 of them. She may not charge much for her lashes, but she won’t compensate you for your wasted time.
She has canceled on me because … her glue didn’t show up, she was in an accident, she had surgery, and once she was late with a flat tire. Not sure what excuse she has today because her voicemail was full and she didn’t respond to texts.
Today I arrived only to find an empty building. Seeing as we made our appointment 5 weeks in advance I hoped she was just late and waited 20 minutes. While I was waiting another person showed up, knocked on the door, and when I said nobody was there, also left upset. Once I got home I pulled up her Unilocal only to find that so many others have had the same problems. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt as she moved to 4 salons in a year (That should have told me enough) and knowing how times are tough for so many I have forgiven each excuse, but I now assume these are lies. She simply cannot organize her time well and keep her commitments.
I get paid more per hour than I pay for her service. She has offered me free lashes from previous problems, but the time I waste is worth more than her free lashes … and that’s if she even showed up to put them on.

I used groupon to buy a NOW deal for this place. Meaning I had to use it that day (before 6pm) to get the deal. I called all day and left messages. No response. So since this place is about a 10 min drive from my home I decided to check it out and try and make an appointment in person. And let me say save your gas on this place. It is located in what looks like a 2 story walk up apartment complex. It was not clearly marked with signs that said Tranquilty Spa Room. it mearly had the number 115 on the door. Like I said, resemblace of an apartment building. There were however other business within the «apartments», so I held out hope that I was in the right place So I knocked on the door for 10 minutes no answer. Groupon did refund my money that I paid. But the time and gas I wasted I’ll never get back.

The name says it all. This spa has a comforting and has a calm atmosphere. The owner, Alli is wonderful. She is informative, endearing, and very professional. She was able to accommodate my busy schedule and made feel very welcomed upon my arrival. Her services are affordable and her eyelash extensions last! I recommend all of her services and look forward to my next visit. Thank you Alli, I’ll see you soon for your monthly special!
