History

Established in 1988.

I learned from the Master Automotive Window Tinter” John Jackson of San Diego Glass Coating” in 1984 and Started my own mobile window Tinting business «Lou’s Custom Window Tinting» in 1988. We evolved from mobile to a complete window tinting facility in 2004. We quickly realized by having a shop we can better serve our customers by providing with cleaner installations and our customers can come to us anytime without having to wait or look for us if we were mobile. No fly by night tinting here. In 2004 we change our name to «The Tint Source».

After reading the good reviews here, and the fact that they are a block away from my work, I thought I would give them a try. Work came out great, I’m very pleased with the results. Price was cheaper than everyone too. My only complaint would be he’s slightly limited in shades, so call first to see if he has what you need. Overall it was a great experience. I will return

Fair price for all 5 windows plus the windshield strip. They even put tape on the window buttons to remind you to not roll down the windows for 48hrs :)

If you want your tint done right, this is the place to go. I just had my 3rd car tinted by Lou and he does an excellent job everytime!
He pays close attention to detail and gets everything done in a timely manner.
Im thinking about bringing my wifes car in next.
You won’t be disappointed.

I’m very particular about my cars. I had The Tint Source do all 7 windows on my S4 Audi Avant. He took the time to explain the tint options and exercised patience when I couldn’t make up my mind. It’s been about 7 months since I had it done. And, I have to say his work is top notch. I really like the fact that he does the work himself and doesn’t pay some kid at $ 10 an hour to do installs. Thanks again Lou!

I recently purchased A new vehicle and shortly after that I had my windows tinted here. I had all three rear windows tinted. My vehicle being a hot hatch, it had a double rear window configuration in the rear, so I thought I was going to be charged extra, but I wasn’t. (

I decided to wait a few weeks after the tint job to write this review. I wanted to make sure the work held up. Well, I am happy to report that the work was exceptional. Not only did it meet my expectation, (
) but the professionalism of Luis was and his work was 5 star. He completed the work before the time he predicted and gave me sound advice on how to take care of the tint work.
HIs prices are reasonable and competitive. The business is located across the street from Kearny Mesa Hyundai in a small strip industrial commercial building with multiple business.
No peeking in my windows…

The hot California sun combined with black leather seats finally convinced me that tinting on my car windows might be a good idea. A raving recommendation from a friend sent me to The Tint Source and since this friend has never steered me wrong before…
When I called to make an appointment, Lou got me in the same week and was dead on with his estimation of how long it would take. I also appreciated that he took his time in explaining the different levels of tint once I told him that I’d never had tinting on my windows before. Lou even called me during installation to clarify what tint I wanted on the two smallest windows — I’d much rather get an unexpected call than to see that a wrong guess was made.
Couldn’t beat the price or the service, so I would recommend Lou and The Tint Source without hesitation.

To get a warm and fuzzy feeling, I like seeing a busy atmospere at any shop. You know that business is good and assume they do good work, in most cases. I was skeptical of this place. And Lou (the owner) had absolutly NO costumers which scared me alittle. And the location was a small suite small business. Also seeing only a couple of good reviews didn’t help much either. BUT don’t judge a BOOK by its cover. Lou did well on my tint. He had the time to help me choose the right tint. Prices are affordable other than the shop next door (Alvins Os) WHICH he use to work for and that they charge 100 A WINDOW! They are a good shop but the price wasn’t safisfying to me. Lou worked in the same standard that they do and charges half of that. Well that said, if you wanna save money and have quality work, go to Tint source.

I’ve brought 3 of my cars and referred 3 more to Lou. He even tinted the windows in my friends condo! I’m about to bring in my new car hopefully this week. Lou does the best tint jobs hands down. No nonsense. As long as it’s clean and has no bubbles, what more can you ask for.

Scheduled an appoint for 9:30am. Waited in the parking lot for 15 minutes… nobody showed up!
I had to remove my tint for the front windows because of fix-​a-​ticket, so I went to Tint Devil instead.

Lou, the owner, knows what he is doing.
My BMW 335 (E92) has some serious dot-​matrix issues that most tint shops can’t smooth over. Lou’s shop, however, did a pretty dang good job, especially on the back glass (where the dot matrix is highly prevalent).
Since my tint work, I’ve been recommending The Tint Source nonstop.
The prices are very reasonable. I won’t go any place else.
