In business since 1991. Originally started as an installer with my brother working beside me. It’s amazing to see how technology has changed throughout the years and that is one of the reasons I love this business.

Although my customers never get to see the behind the scenes work, we take pride in our installations and make everything neat and safe. As a certified installer in both mobile electronics and window tint I know that helps assure it will get done right.

That said my staff here at Sound Check are certified as well so rest assured your vehicle is safe with us.

I just want to give the biggest thanks to Barron and Josh at Sound Check. They tinted my windows on my car and did the best job I’ve ever seen! I’m so proud to roll around San Diego in my car and I get complimented all the time on my windows. Not to mention my 4 year old daughter now thinks shes a rock star being chauffeured around lol. Thanks again guys! I will definitely refer you to anyone who is looking for tinting.

I had an issue with my drivers side speaker. This could have been an expensive, long, drawn out endeavor. However, Baron took his time, asked tons of questions about how I listen to music and after only about 20min he was able to narrow down the simple issue it ended up being. Since I use my iPhone primarily to listen to music my cassette adapter needed to be replaced — not an entire speaker system! Any place else else could have easily gotten away with telling me to replace speakers or amps. What could have cost me hundreds cost me $ 20! Thanks Baron for being so honest and helpful!!!

These guys did a full audio system upgrade (amp, sub, components & rear view cam) on my 2013 Subaru Impreza WRX 2 years ago. Their work is incredibly professional, and the sound system has performed amazingly w/​out a hiccup until my dog sat on the amp last week. I took my car in yesterday to have them look at it, and w/​no questions asked, they fixed the problem in 15 mins. I know that there are a lot of choices out there when it comes to choosing an installer, but with Baron at Sound Check Systems you get a complete personal experience and you don’t feel like just another customer that’s paying another companies bills. All that is nice, but coupled w/​the professionalism and amazing work they provide, I’ll continue to go back as needed. Just my two sense.

Been having problems with my HID lights, they haven’t worked in weeks. Took my car in to Sound Check, minutes before they closed and the guys were nice enough to help me out. Within minutes they discovered what the problems was. They got my lights back on in no time. They were professional, quick, and got the job done.

Place was lousy, granted they saw me without an appointment their work was as a whole sloppy and careless. I simply wanted to replace an auxillary chord alone, my vehicle had an outdated head unit which required interior pieces to be disassembled to replace the chord. After completing the job the plastic surround to the shifter had been broken, at first I figured whatever it’s 25 year old plastic stuff is bound to happen. Yet, within less than a week the aux chord they supplied me with was of extremely low quality crapping out within the week. On top of all of that the price for all of this was not reasonable now that I have had a much better experience with a different company. Don’t go here, lazy work for simple tasks.

Fast, friendly and honest. Took my car in today for a window tint removal of my two front windows due to a citation. I dealt mostly with Barron and he was real friendly. I called in the morning and set up an appointment for the same day and I was in and out in less than an hour and he gladly honored the Unilocal discount too !!! I’m actually going back in a few weeks to get a window tint on my husbands truck.

I’ve used Sound Check in the past so I already knew that they are willing and capable of tackling problems they don’t normally deal with. Today, I had a leaking moonroof on my BMW which was causing my head liner to get wet whenever I went through the car wash but I didn’t know if the drain was clogged or if the seal needed to be changed… my normal mechanic didn’t want to deal with this. Sound Check was happy to do the work! Their tech tested the drain which was okay, so they picked up a new seal kit from the BMW shop for me and made the problem go away while I lunched across the street at my favorite ramen joint, Yakudori. I love it when a headache of a problem for me goes away so easily!

Just took my wife’s Mustang in for a new alarm, Halo Projector headlights, fog lights, and some electrical tweaks. This is the third vehicle I’ve had them work on and I’ve been bringing back my cars for over a decade. Their work is awesome, the gang is nice and they’re like electrical wizards when it comes to custom jobs.
They have a big selection of alarms and sound systems to choose from and they’ll even install parts you bring them (like Halo Projector headlights, fog lights, etc).
Great prices, and amazing work. I highly recommend Sound Check.

Impressive expertise and service. Baron personally rescued our vehicle in east county after the original Viper system failed in a 2000 Tacoma leaving the ignition locked out. After disabling various cutoffs in a premium system– none of the wires were color coded– he got us back on the road sparing a 30 mile tow charge. Subsequently his tech specialists at Sound Check– Jimmy and Josh– removed the old Viper system, installed a new one, repaired the radio, replaced burned out bulbs in the dash and evaluated a few other issues. All quickly and for less than anticipated. In my experience everyone here was professional, considerate, and thorough. Thanks, Baron.

I was referred here from the dealership where I purchased my car. Baron and Josh do great work, they’re fast, and really professional. I can appreciate folks who are knowledgeable about what they do and are also good about following up to confirm appointments. They were patient when I couldn’t decide which tint to get on my car. If I had another car, I’d definitely bring it here for tint. Nationwide guarantee and knowing they’ll willingly standby their work means I’m a very happy customer!

Great experience, and I am very glad that Unilocal helped me find Sound Check Systems. Baron was great to work with, very honest and reasonable when it came to pricing installation for my car stereo and speakers in my older truck. After my second and last remaining alarm/​keyless entry went bad I finally decided to just bite the bullet and upgrade the car alarm system to something more modern. I ended up deciding on getting a Viper alarm. The annoying thing about Viper is that they only provide support and warranty services if you have the unit installed by an authorized shop so that ruled out doing it as a beer powered weekend project.
According to the manufacturer website, there are only about four shops listed as authorized installers, with Sound Check Systems being one of them. I did my due diligence and got quotes from all of them. In the end they were about the same, except for one which was absolutely absurd (San Diego Car Stereo). But Sound Check seemed like the best choice because of Baron.
Baron was really great and pleasant to speak with. He didn’t come off like a snob like some other shops and he was super helpful providing his experience and insight in answering all the questions I had. He even gave me a demonstration in his personal car which had a system similar to the one I was looking into.
The work itself to remove the old system and install a new one was done by the other staffers and took an entire day but that was to be expected and I didn’t have a problem with that. The quality of work seems good and I haven’t had any issues. I will definitely go back to Sound Check if I have any other car related needs.

Great place. The owner was headed off for a vacation and stayed a few hours extra to put a stereo in my daughters car because it was a surprise for her birthday. He didn’t up-​sell me, and he was just a nice honest man.
He waited for me to come pick the car up with my daughter, which took me an hour longer than I thought, and stayed 30 more minutes showing her how to operate it and pair her phone. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I have used Sound Check for all my cars. Alarms, Stereos and window tint.
Recently I lost the dash lights in my 4 runner and the dealership wanted to charge me $ 1400.00 for repair. I called Sound Check and spoke with Baron about it. He asked me to bring the car in and was able to fix the problem for $ 300.00. Talk about an honest business. I will never go anywhere else.
